[sarcasm]Wow, Fallout Vegas has serious bugs in, I could not have called that[/sarcasm]

Yeah, I too will wait until all the programmers have exorcised their limited knowledge and have released what patches they can before buying it.

I think they should keep that one in just for lols, makes you wonder about how scrambled your brain is. I'd buy it now but need to sleep tonight.

Bye VATS, it was a nice... few hours

now, if only bethesda could fix fallout 3 so I can play it on my pc *insert staring eyes*

Quoted for truth.

What a shock, many of the old TES4: Oblivion pc errors crop up in New Vegas. As for Bethesda "working on a patch", I'll believe that when I see it (over 2 years now and still no patch for the memory leaks or multi-core crashes on PC).

A company known for making the same poor quality game over and over and over again should never have been allowed near the Fallout license.

Been playing it for 3 hours yesterday and so far i encountered only a few bugs ,mobs stuck in the terrain and the game crashed on me 2 times. And the game lags more than it should considering that the engine is kinda old and games like mafia 2 works just fine on best graphics ,well i downloaded some fan made patch for that ,people claim that the game runs atleast 2 times better with it ,didnt have a chance to try it myself.

An Obsidian game on a BETHESDA engine buggy on release? No, that can't be true! Surely they wouldn't release something to let the public do their testing for them. Even so I'm sure they'd continue to support the game for a long time and not drop it after a modicum of shoddy patching was done.

Here's a fucking clue:

Fix it before it's released.

Why are we thanking them? People should be lighting torches and grabbing their pitchforks.

Because it's OBSIDIAN

Your reply doesn't match anything I've said, unless you're answering the "why are we thanking them?", although it's not like they've ever done anything for gamers particularly so I doubt it.

Despite the occasional shitty and/or unfinished game (See KotOR 2, Alpha Protocol), and the godawful buggy state of most of their games upon release, I can't help but love Black Isle/Troika/Obsidian to bits. They are the complete antithesis to boring, shitty games developers churning out mind-numbing crap that sells. They are never afraid to risk doing something THEIR WAY, and fuck the rest. Yes, their games often release in a fucking terrible state, but I can't hate them for that.

Great things Obsidian have done for gaming, either as Obsidian or as Troika/Black Isle:

Fallout
Fallout 2
Planescape: Torment
Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn
The Temple of Elemental Evil
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines
Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer
Neverwinter Nights 2: Storm of Zehir

As Obsidian, all they've done is fuck up.

You can have all the ambition in the world, but that doesn't mean shit if you're too lazy/incompetent to bring it together.

Neither of these games was fucked up. Mask of the Betrayer is excellent... SoZ is very good.

But stick to your opinion, you don't seem to want to be open-minded about it. I guess you got burned with Alpha Protocol, lol. I sent mine back to Amazon.

No, with KotOR 2. Then NWN2. Then Alpha Protocol.

So sick of seeing games get released in Beta.

I've played enough Bethesda games to take the bugs as being part of the charm. It's not like I could do a better job.

...okay, the fact that I'm willing to make an excuse as lame as that is probably good evidence that I've become a bit of a fanboy. FOR SHAME.

Nothing wrong with NWN2. Not a great game, but not bad. KotOR2 and AP were bad games, sure. NWN2 and its XP packs are good, the XP packs particularly.

Is it me, or would that video make an AWESOME intro to a game.....

I can handle super mutants and other nasties, but that... that is just too much! I guess it's time to bring out the silver bullets and whatnot.

now if they could do somethying about the timed release of the DLC...

So they managed to make a game that wasn't broken, well done them. I just found it unbearably dull instead.

I never really did understand this. I'm not complaining, just confused. -why- is it that these games are released so buggy? Is it because they need us to be beta-testers kind of? (no really, I'm curious)

**** you Bethesda. Morrowind was buggy, but to be releasing games just s buggy 8 ****ing years later, what the hell is wrong with you guys?

That was bloody creepy.

But is that guy voiced by Michael Hogan? If so, awesome.

The wtf factor that it sends was more than enough to make me want to keep it rather than fix it lol.

oh wow so if i was to buy that wireless adaptor thing to plug into my xbox i can connect to xbox live without having to pay for a 12 month membership? the combined cost of the adaptor and the 12 month membership was putting me off plus i have no interest in playing multiplayer games online but if i can download patches for free i will definately be interested in purchasing the wireless adaptor! thanks for the Info Nevrymoore.Suddenly things don't seem so bad!

Every time Bethesda releases a game there are some bugs, I remember the same happened with Oblivion and Fallout3. Last time it took too long to fix and they copped a spray from many fans including myself. Maybe that's why they're saying they're on the job fixing them ASAP. Regardless of bugs I know when I get mine, I'll be playing it till all hours of the next morning. On that note I'm going to pick up my Fallout NV CE now...hehehehehe :)

Good to know, haven't encountered any show-stoppers yet and was very disappointed when the Doc didn't go Exorcist on me. :(

Bug....no way makes it....more of a my world is spinning...

Also: Srsly stop with the pitchfork and torch method...I get....Angered when shit bugs...but still....I dont see your ass making a game...but when you can make a bug free multimillion dollar game....then I will gladly kiss your ass

and no easy routes like making a JRPG or Racing or Madden 2121

Well, like I said here, I'm more worried about being ripped off with the DLC than the bugs. I know the bugs will be fixed.

Though that is some freaky shit.

Think ill wait a while before I get this then
And HOLY FUCKBALLS that video is seriously creepy.

The game is honestly really well made, but man the bugs are teeth grindingly painful. My saves keep getting switched back to old saves and it really sucks, and the constant crashes make me a sad panda :(

Holy crap that was a scary bug.

But personally, I'm a little confused as to why they just didn't delay the game for a week or two, so there'd be less bugs upon release.

I laughed out loud at that video. I kind of wish I had that bug instead of the ones where my arm appears above my head when I go into iron sights while jumping or when my cleaver freaks out when I swing it.

New Vegas has been fun so far (obviously I haven't gotten very far in it) but the bugs are a little annoying... you would think that a big game like this wouldn't have that many bugs. Why wouldn't they just delay the release again instead of releasing a buggy game? At least they're going to patch it, but... jeeze...

That guy has done his neck exercises thoroughly.

Honestly this is the funniest bug in Fallout New Vegas. I immediately favorite the video because it made me laugh like crazy.

original story

Don't know if it's worth mentioning, but there's already an update out... for the PC version anyway. Quite a hefty one too, something in the region of 250MB. Apparently it fixes some quest and scripting issues, whether or not that includes weird shit like in the video remains to be seen (I got the update but can't play the game for another 21 hours, effin' UK release dates).

http://bethblog.com/index.php/2010/10/20/updates-on-fallout-new-vegas/

I gotta admit that the game has it's fair share of bugs, but at the least, I haven't got into any show stopping bugs, just wierd and bizarre. The bug showed in that video looks creepy as hell, it looks one of those guys from Silent Hill 4, I didn't encounter that bug, or any of this kind, yet.

Steam is updating the game as I write this, it's a pretty big update, compared to the size of the updates FO3 had, it's like 3 or 4 times bigger than the latest FO3 patch. I hope this won't ruin my saves and makes the game more stable and less buggy.

Confirming Ophiuchus's post. There is a sizable patch for the pc version that "fixes quest and scripting issues". Downloading it now, we'll see if I get the freaky intro...

I've only had one crash while playing do far. I maybe was overclocking my graphics card a little too much and making it unstable....
