Blizzard Isn't Selling These Giant Adorable WoW Plushies

Do you want to buy these giant World of Warcraft plushies? Too bad, you can't!

When Blizzard sent us a pair of the huggably adorable Gryphon and Wind Rider WoW plushies earlier this year, I didn't see how they could get any cuter. I still don't think they can get any cuter, but getting bigger is another story entirely.

I had a chance to drop by Blizzard's Irvine, California-based HQ last week in advance of BlizzCon 2010. Lo and behold, I was greeted at the reception desk by these giant-sized versions of the plushies that are currently adorning my desk here at work. Though it's a bit difficult to get a sense of scale in my hastily-snapped pictures, these full-scale plushies are about 3-4 feet tall and made with lots and lots of love.

Sadly, my inquiries as to where one could acquire these giant bundles of cute were fruitless. As far as I can tell, there's no place to get them anywhere - so unless you're planning on breaking into Blizzard's HQ and stealing them for yourself, you're out of luck.

Not that we here at The Escapist would ever condone such a thing, of course. That is, unless you sent us whichever one you weren't keeping for yourself. Just sayin'.

Gimme a floor plan and you can have the Griffin...
Ahem, it would be pretty cool to have one of them.

Aww they're so cute and cuddly!! I wants now!

Don't worry, big guy; I'm already on a plane to America for them.

Nice. You can keep the dirty Alliance bird - Lok'tar!

Well, time to break into Blizzard, then.

They look terrible, not cute at all.

Oh you people are totally showing off. Not cool guys, not cool. *is super jelous and really wants a plushie too*

so unless you're planning on breaking into Blizzard's HQ and stealing them for yourself, you're out of luck.

How about breaking into the Escapist HQ and stealing them? *innocent whistle*

There's a picture of the staff at Irving with these two guys somewhere out there. They're about as old as the ones you can buy.

Pretty cool looking dudes

Edit -

Not the picture I was thinking of but

EDIT:

Ah, fair enough, consider my post deleted.

:O:O:O:O i want one :D:D

Erm. Guys. Yes you can...

Am I missing something?

Yeah. The version you linked is a small version. The version in the OT is a massive version.

Yes. Another 3-4 feet of cuddly toy.

I don't get the point of this article...what part of "hey look, here's something that's not for sale that you can't get anywhere" is newsworthy?

Irvine?

Irvine is in Scotland!

I bet your new Irvine has never had a Queen visit.

Jesus! Be quiet. I was planning to give you one but if you blow my damn cover...

It just means some group in Asia will start making their own ones, with or without the consent of Blizzard.

Agreed, but it's up to the guys at the Escapist what they want to write about.

*Grabs grappling hook*

I don't think they're cute. The small ones are okay but the large ones look kinda...odd.

The sort of "ple...ease...kill...me" type oddness. I generally dislike these manufactured fair type plushies, maybe that's just me.

I've already stolen them and they're none the wiser. I've replaced them with very very good duplicates. The only way you can tell if they're fakes is the underside of the tongue says "Make Lost Vikings 3!" on the fakes.

I don't see the appeal.

Eh. To each their own.

Blood and Thunder, man. Blood and Thunder.

Pirate Kitty:

It's a stuffed vervolf-kimera-ticore. Where is the appeal not?
Plus, they're just cubs/chicks, so they'll get bigger and rule the skies with adorable destruct:3n.

Aww cute!

I'm surprised Susan Arendt didn't do this story. Then again maybe see tried and just broke down into adorable baby talk that made no sense...
Snuggle wuggly!

How can you tell? They aren't scaled with anything. For all I know, it's just an extreme close-up.

Theyd probably have quite a hefty price tag to boot

But... but... do want. *makes grabby hands*

I'll work on creating perfect duplicates, then I'll switch them. They'll never know

I remember seeing those on the Blizzard store a few months ago? They came with a virtual pet too!

I don't get it.

Those are the tiny versions. :)

I would love these plushies! They have to sell them somewhere...

Wow those are ugly
