Hilarious Face Actor Tackles More Videogame Voices

From the obscure to the mainstream, no game is immune from the curse of bad dialogue.

It's a pretty simple idea, you take some bad voice acting, and then lip sync to it, throwing in some hilariously overacting facial expressions to ramp up the humor, and as Dean Lauderdale neatly demonstrates with his second collection of bad, stupid, or just outright bizarre clips, there's no shortage of material to work with.

In the description for the video, Lauderdale indicates that a lot of the clips he used in the episode came from audience suggestions. The episode sees more from some old favourites, like the treasure trove of bad voice acting that is Resident Evil, as well as some high-profile newcomers like Silent Hill, Metal Gear Solid 2, and Devil May Cry. It just goes to show that even good games can be guilty of having some less-than-amazing voices from time to time.

There's a lot to like there, although my personal favorites have to be the clip from MGS2 about the box, and the clip from Warcraft 3 about the blood. Just watch the video; you'll see what I mean.

I love when Metal Gear references the absurdity of its cardboard boxes. There's a brilliant codec conversation in MGS3 where Big Boss says he feels destined to be in cardboard boxes, makes me laugh every time.
Was that Warcraft III dialogue real? It seems... too stupid, even in the face of the other clips.

Hehe, funny, but still no "A bomb"?

The dynasty warrior hair was probably my favorite bit, the rest was awesome too.... just....the hair.

Much better than the first imo.

Wanna watch NOOOOOOOOW. First one was hilarious, but vid doesn't work on work-computer -.-

Yes the clip is real, but it's one of the joke dialog that happens when you click a unit multiple times

Wow, I love these!

Such a pity I've not come across too many of these lines in their native habitat though.

I assume so since it turned up on IMDB. :)

As it's the case with other Blizz strategies, if you click on an unit repeatedly, it starts getting annoyed and talks back to you; sometimes in anger, sometimes with a funny line ... it's a nice feature I enjoyed while playing SC and SC2.

In all truth, they're quite funny. Here's two more I stumbled upon:

Prince Kael'Thas: This is preposterous! Am I to assault the undead with nothing but sticks and harsh language?

Night Elf Runner: When you care enough to send the very best... Send someone else.

Yeah, like the guy above said. If you click on a unit multiple times it eventually comes out with a jokey piece of dialogue.

Edit: My favourite is the Dark Ranger's. "I went on a job interview the other day and they were like 'uhh, what's that smell?' and I was like, 'Oh, sorry, it's me'. And then they said they didn't think I'd be able to fit in with the other employees, 'cause they're living and, you know, I'm dead, so I wouldn't be a team player. But then I said I could work 24 hours. And they said 'Oh, right. You could work the graveyard shift'."

Hah.

The Blood part was one of my favorite joke dialogue in Warcraft 3.

I dunno, the first one was a bit more understated and that made it funnier for me. In this one he was putting his own jokes on top which isn't as effective.

Devil May Cry made me almost cry, so emotional.

Awesome

A MISERABLE PILE OF SECRETS

This guy is amazing. Still, though, nothing here beats:

WE DID IT

WE DEACTIVATED THE BOMB

(Still disappointed at the lack of HALP! CRUSAEDARS AR ATTACKING AHR TRAED ROOTS)

Someone wants his 15 seconds of fame to last 15 minutes...

Whatever, he's pretty funny.

This video was the one to fill my dark soul with liiiiiiight!

17, mainly due to his face, is just pure brilliance.

"Probably all of the kids that were killed here!"

He's pretty good... and a lot of those lines are sooo bad...

Liked it, liked it a lot! :D Good to see he's doing more of these. :D

Hey, listen do "suffer like G did"
And Metroid other M didn't get as many mentions I thought it would.

The Warcraft 3 one is a hidden joke unit response. When you click the Bloodmage hero several times without issuing a command, he'll start saying funny jokes. All units have these.

If you click on the Dreadlord for example, you'll get a voice clip like:

"*Rrrriiingg*

"Hello? No, for the last time I'm a DREADlord, not a DRUGlord."

That guy is too awesome.

This video is actually the first time I've ever heard voice-acting from Other M and it's definitely heinous. I'd heard Samus sounded dull, but did the actress even try to do justice for one of gaming's great heroines?

I thought Dante's "Light" dialog would sneak in there. Grandia may be a great RPG, but the voice acting is terrible.

Face-actor? Is that what we're calling him now? Okay...

At any rate I was hoping he'd do more of these. I can't say how many times I watched the first one.

I hope this guy makes a series out of this! It sgreat!

Hahaha, the Warcraft III thing was awesome.

NEEDS MOAR BLAHD

Much funnier than the first one, for some reason.

One wonders how much practice he has to do to synch so perfectly with the audio clips.

"Colonel, I have Emma Emmerich here. We've managed to avoid drowning!!"

"Good Job!"

Good stuff. I was also pleasantly surprised by the Starfox 64 bits in there. Disappointed though that they didn't have any of Falco's lines in there. Or better yet "Do a barrel roll!"

It really needed more House of the Dead 2 quotes.

"Suffer like G did?"

"G's bloodstains?"

"Don't come! Don't come!"

*Total monotone* "Oh no. How could this have happened..."

"Remember, there are no such things as second chances!"

"Friends. Dogs of the AMS. Ha. Ha. Ha."

At first I thought this would be kind of lame being the 2nd round schtick but I have to say it was once again completely hilarious! Lol'd a couple times.
Was it just me though, or did the syncing seem a bit off this time?
Either way, I could probably go for more of this (at least a few more times before it becomes lame)

yeah that line from MGS2 was hilarious now but back then I didn't think it was hilarious

"I can't let you do that Star Fox"-Wolf

Best part for me was that he opened with "Now bear my arctic blast". Milk sprayed out of my nose.

Hilarious stuff, once again. If he does another one of these I'd love to see this make the list.

Nocta-Aeterna:
Hehe, funny, but still no "A bomb"?

A BOMB!?!

he could probably do that whole game to hilarious effect.
