| Gimme, Gimme, Gimme a New Abba Game!
See that game. Watch that screen. A new Wii title will let you play Dancing Queen.
Don't feel blue like you always do; Ubisoft has a game for you. Abba: You Can Dance will allow players to dance (and presumably jive and have the time of their lives) to the greatest hits of the Swedish pop sensation. Right now, Ubisoft plans to release the game for the Wii around Christmas 2011.
Abba, a Swedish pop group active from 1972 to 1982, produced a collection of catchy hits including Super Trouper, Waterloo, and Take a Chance on Me during its heyday. More recently, the group has seen major success with Mamma Mia!, a jukebox musical adapted for both the stage and screen. Abba: You Can Dance does not have a specific track list yet, but given the game's title, the inclusion of Dancing Queen seems like a safe bet. Ubisoft has also yet to price the title, although they have indicated it will be a "budget" purchase.
Given that a previous game, SingStar: Abba, made lots of money, money, money, another game is hardly a surprise. Still, it's gratifying to see that this group, rapidly-approaching its 40th anniversary, is inspiring a whole new generation to dance and sing. Here we go again: My, my, how can you resist this game?

| I don't know whether all those Abba puns sprinkled in make me love or hate you, Marshall. |
| ...
If there was ever a game that could turn you gay, this would be it.
The above is satire. Not even that game could turn you, you're too badly dressed, sweetie. |
| So, I take it that you're an ABBA fan, Marshall?
All those puns... my Dad would be jealous. Anyways, it's a really nifty idea, I wonder if it will take. |
| I appreciate the use of that album cover (The Album), as it's got a lot of their really good music that no one knows because they're only familiar with the disco punchlines. (Move On remains one of my inspirational favourites.)
Nonetheless, still not buying the game. I'm not that big a fan. |
| I read that headline and hoped for it to end with, "...shock treatment!"
Why would anyone want an ABBA game when it's potentially possible to create a Ramones game? |
| Well... a shame I don't have a Wii then. I would totally be the Dancing Queen. :3 |
