What a waste of money. By time it gets there, the game will already be out. What a fool.

I heard about this an hour ago. It's true. Gamers these days are getting more stupid.

Honestly, it comes out in what four days? YOU SERIOUSLY CAN'T WAIT FOUR DAYS?!?!?!

"impact your account"
"prebanned"

>make new account
>wait, only a small number of people have the game - not worth it to play online
>disconnect internet
>insert disc
>play early with no repercussions until they trace the transaction or something

COD fans are all stupid, its thanks to COD morons PC Games cost 59$ now. COD fans were stupid enough to pay more, so basically all COD Fans are stupid its just varying levels of stupidity.

Eh...
I haven't seen ebay idiocy this bad since someone (allegedly) sold a used sock for 5 grand (USD).
Never knew why. Maybe it belonged to a celebrity?

Either way. Enjoy your 1700 dollar game, idiot.

I was going to make a comment about how stupid and frivolous this guy is with his money, but then I realised that if it was Skyrim, I probably would have done the same thing.

Have fun with your $1700 game!! :D

well no one is making an effort to prove otherwise.

I am, clearly. A little less ignorance would be appreciated too.

ignorance? hey i was a COD player up till black ops, im well aware of the mind set of the community it holds.

Then why are you being so rude to those who still enjoy the games? There are few kinds of people not represented in the COD fanbase, so just about no generalization will ever be valid.

SmashLovesTitanQuest:
I was about to write something like "What? Who the fuck would spend that much money on a video game?"

But then I asked myself, if I had the money, and if Skyrim had not been leaked, how much would I pay for an xbox copy a few days prior to release?

1700 bucks sounds about right!

Skyrim isn't the same thing, thats an entirely single player game. Call of duty is a heavy, heavy multiplayer title, and sucks ass when judged solely on its single player content.

So that game is damn near useless until he can actually play it online.

Edit: Im sure MW3 is a great game..but damn though, 2 grand? Seriously? Surely someone who is THAT rich has better hobbies than getting farmed for Xp on a new call of duty game.

rknight718:
I'm not the type of person who reads in-depth into the XBL Terms of Service and whatnot (I mean, who is really? Blah blah blah LET ME PLAY!) but wouldn't playing the game while disconnected from XBL prevent banning? As long as you don't sign into your account until a few days AFTER the release date, they can just assume you got all that progress in a day or so. It's MW3, people are gonna be on a binge for the first 36-48 hours or so.

He's probably gonna get acheivements, and if I remember, they date them. I would applaude Microsoft if they get him for it after he activates his account, if he's smart enough to go offline till the 8th.

I was me that bought it because I think CoD is awesome.

And to all you nay-sayers. My budget was $2000 so in fact I saved nearly $300, and also as I usually order from amazon which means that games take a week or more to be delivered. So in fact I'm getting it over a week earlier than most people. It's win win.

I doubt hes smart enough if he paid that much money for it, Call of Duty fans are just so dumb. They paid 60$ for the PC Version, its not surprising this happened.

Thanatus1992:
I respect the man that sold this game, and pity the fool that bought it.

You just made my day with that remark, as I completly agree.
If this is legit, somebody just spent enough money to buy 28 copies of this turd so he can brag about having it first. With the 360 he can't even play it without risking to turning his console into a very very useless BRICK.

Thats what happens when children have too much money. Thats 1700 $ you just wasted on a videogame. You could have bought one MW-whatever title each year for 28 years with that. Dude, GROW UP.
If you don'T take serious advice then may I refer you to my wonderfull selection of wireless extension cords and wifi cables - only 20$ for any item, truly instant delivery after every transaction...

What about spec ops and couch co-op combat training?

its for reasons like this that i never feel bad about rich ppl getting scammed. Whoever sold it for that price I applaud you. U sir are a true capitalist! :D

Sounds about right to me.

Fanboys, why u so stoopid?

Frostbite3789:
FFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUU-

That's about all the response I have for this. Are we this stupid? I don't even have the energy to post the "I no longer want to live on this planet" video in response.

Edit: What are the odds this was some teenager or kid who got ahold of some parental credit card info?

About 70%, I'd say. 30% chance it's some dumbass just doing it for the bragging rights or being that much of a stereotypical nerd. Probably some kid though. It's amazing how willful and idiotic people (especially kids) are when it's not their money being burned.

Fayathon:
SUNOFABITCH! I need money, if I had known that people were willing to shell this kind of cash for a copy of MW3 I would have found those copies and sold a whole shitload on eBay.

Yes, I am for the exploitation of the willfully stupid, why do you ask?

A person refusing to exploit human stupidity is like a fish refusing to drink water xD

Willful stupidity, I don't believe in exploiting those that can, and more importantly, are willing to learn. People that are wrong and refuse to learn otherwise are fair game though.

I'd only spend so much money on a game if it was KOTOR 3

99% chance that the guy who bought this was part of the 1%

I know I'd be willing to pay $1.70 to get certain games before release, and given that there are people out there that have literally over 1000 times the money I do, I can't be to surprised somebody would pay that much for it.

I'm keeping an eye on WhyWasIBanned.com over the next few days... You know that SOMEONE'S going to be dumb enough to try playing it.

Ninja'd ...... but it was worth it!

all i did was LOOOOOOOOOOL. i would never pay that much for half life. amazing how stupid people can be.

If you have the money, why not. Maybe he is a wealthy businessman/woman who has cash flowing in every few minutes or so. This might just have been an impulse by from the buyers part and does not impact their own economy in the slightest. Sure you can say that it is a waste of money and it could be spent on something else, but that goes for just about anything rich people buy (yes, I am assuming the buyer is fairly rich).

Honestly, I would bet that, if the lot of you had a huge amount of money you would also do something like this and justify it till the end of time. Of course I know nothing of the people here but it is just a guess brought to you by experience from where I live and the people here.

Hopefully the buyer finds the game worth the money spent. ^^

That really doesn't make sense. It's only 4 days from now.. along those lines, it's just a regular MW3 with nothing special about it other then being sold slightly earlier. Also, who would pay over a thousand to almost two thousand for a game that will get you permabanned for playing early?

I don't think even the biggest fan would be willing to buy that deal... it's a lose/lose situation really. Even if I had thousands of dollars and an early release of Skyrim came out for around that price... I wouldn't buy it. Seriously not worth it.

poiumty:
People are doing things I don't agree with! Surely this is unacceptable!

I must rage and froth!

Buying a game a few days early for $1700? That's not something "we don't agree with", it's just plain dumb.

I always said they could easily sell the game at double the price one week early, but I never thought people are this stupid :D

The whole thing just gave Activision a whole new business plan

Actually will they get banned? I remember about 250+ people got MW2 a week or so early legitimately and they were allowed to play it, but the servers were reset when it was launched. And why would you pay that much to get a game 2 or 3 days early?!?!?!?!?!

I think we can all agree that there are people out there with a lot of money and no limits on spending it, no matter how ludicrous a trade looks.

But $1700? Really? It's just way too much, no matter what game it is.

Everything I could say to this has already been said. There are no words to describe this... thing. Okay, it's umm, stupid. Stupid is what it is, I'm going back to basics. Stupid is a fine description. STUPID!

Gotta say, if I was some fan or parent, and saw the game on the shelves of a major retailer, and picked it up legally, only to have my/my childs XBL account or console banned for playing it, I would be kicking up a shitstorm. My future business would go elsewhere, away from Microsoft and Activision.

I mean, sure sue the pants off of K-Mart, but dont punish loyal consumers for purchasing your product when they saw it on the shelf of a trusted retailer.

Note, this isnt a supportive comment, but more of a general idea. It would apply to any game that had issues with broken street dates netting you XBL bans.

I wish I had that kind of money to burn on something so unimportant as playing a game a week before release. That's a month and a half of hard work for me.

Hopefully the person who buys it tops the leaderboards for a while or something to 'justify' their actions.

I hope one of those guys who bid finds the PC I'm selling on eBay.
