You should have all known that when you play an Elder Scrolls game you have to have at least 20 progressive saves that you can reload when you inevitably run into game breaking bugs. Sure, it means that you'll have to replay hours and hours. I lost track of how many times I had to reload 5-10+ hours old saves. I'm not trying to excuse Bethesda or say that it's okay, this is the sad reality of the Elder Scrolls series.

Oh I understand that now. Skyrim was my first and will definitely be my last elder scrolls game. Its also the reason I feel that it was a steaming pile of shit. I check the news when I see the title to laugh at how people praise a game and developer who continues to treat them like mentally retarded children.

I wouldn't go that far. The fact of the matter is that any vast open world game like the Skyrim is just going to be chock-full of bugs. So if you want a game like Skyrim without bugs you're pretty much shit out of luck. I don't think the fact that the developers overreach what they are capable of handling means that they treat people like kids with DS. I'm sure they're trying to fix the bugs, if you look down the list 5/6 of the update deals with fixing glitches. If you aren't willing to put up with the glitches then yeah, you probably shouldn't buy any more Elder Scrolls games.

Learning from TF2 and The Witcher 2 are we? Well done, well done.

Does anyone know if the Ilia bug was fixed?

- Followers sneak properly when player is sneaking

and

- New cinematic kill cameras for projectile weapons and spells

Awesome :D hope consoles get the patch soon then... I'm sick of Lydia sprinting up to me while I'm sneaking.

Not sure how I stand on these kill cams, having only played morrowind. They certianly look cool but if I'm playing classic elder scrolls style I'd like a way to turn them off.

Fappy:
Wow, they tiptoed around it but still haven't managed to fix the gamebreaking main quest bug that me and a bunch of others encountered where you can't start the quest "A Cornered Rat"? They fixed a bug regarding it but not the one that prevented getting it. You'd think the main quest would be a priority... :/

killcams that will become annoying like in fallout 3 and that breaks every small amount of immersion you had has apparently more significance than these silly main side quest or companion AI.

TizzytheTormentor:
Hopefully they fixed that annoying as hell glitch with the eldergleam clipping problem.

Is there anywhere you can report bugs to bethesda directly (and have them notice?)

you could try. but it would be faster and more effective if you talk to the modding fan base.

bethesda will be too busy including hats to skyrim.

How about removing essential tags? I'd love to finally kill everyone in Skyrim.

Still no fix for that Markarth quest?

Sounds wicked cool. But what I want is a fix to the thieves guild unique loot! Killed my enthusiasm when he refused to buy the final piece, now the shelf is just incomplete.

I would be interested to know why you feel that they are treating fans like mentally retarded children.
You are perfectly entitled to dislike the game. If it's not your thing then it's simply not your thing. But I am very curious to discover what exactly you class as 'treating like retarded children'.

If your main argument is "THE MADE A GAME WITH BUGS CUZ THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT DA FANS" then you probably shouldn't bother replying as it would waste your time and mine.

Well, looks like Bethesda didn't lie about some of those things as DLC from the game jam. HALLELUYAH!

I suppose i'm quite lucky as i haven't encountered any bugs at all on skyrim (well it froze on me for 5 minutes and when i came back i got pulverized by a frost troll, my fault as i went and made food)

Hey look, another patch adding some more content people payed for but didn't get in their unfinished game. Awesome.

Better than paying separately for it.

Cool looks good and I'm glad followers will sneak properly now because it's really annoying when they charge everything when you're trying to be quiet -_-

I didn't buy Skyrim for kill cams and grass shadows.

If this were a generic first person shooter I would say you are right. But until someone else presents a comparable product bug-free, I don't think that's fair. Despite being hugely successful as Skyrim and Oblivion were, there really aren't any imitators, not even bad ones. I think that says a lot about how ambitious and difficult this type of game is.

EDIT: Of course, I totally understand your being dissatisfied with a buggy product. I'm just explaining why I, nonetheless, have a high opinion of Bethesda's work on this game.

Bard's College instruments and the Attunement Sphere still get stuck in my Inventory after I no longer need them? I didn't need my quest items easy-moded into my invenory in Morrowind, and I don't need it now.

They still haven't fixed that bug that makes the inventory unusable. For some reason it doesn't open to a sortable list. I just get a long alphabetical list with no useful information displayed.

I play on 360 (my PC blows chunks) so I can't rely on modders. besides if I had it on PC, I could just use console commands to remove the dead tree.

I wonder if they fixed it so that bear hands now do one - handed skill.

I think it means those iron daggers will be worth more

I hope this means we are going to be seeing more of that one week free for all content. Crossing my fingers for more lycanthropy stuff.

Nope, other way around. The value of the item being created raises your skill level. So an iron dagger, with a value of 120, would only increase it a very small amount. So much for that Uber-Glitch. I guess we can just use the Infinite All Stats one.

If you're talking about the Daedric bookshelf glitch. That was patched.

It was patched, yes, but not actually fixed. You can still do it, you just have to do it a little bit different than before.

OhJohnNo:
Does this mean I won't be able to spam-upgrade my smithing by spamming Iron Daggers?

Iron daggers? I spammed Leather Bracers. Iron ore was more valuable for turning into gold ore and making into gold rings.

So I can't spam iron daggers anymore? FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU...

And seriously, I don't care about kill cams. Give me dragon weapons! I have a mod, but offical stuff would rock!

Klagermeister:
Those killcams look... Godly...
Hurry up and release the patch on 360! NAOUGHW!

They won't be patching Skyrim on 360 because it costs Bethesda $40,000 to put a patch on Xbox live.

I wish they would fix the AI for playing a thief. It breaks all immersion when a guy has four arrows in his back and keeps claiming it's 'Just the wind' like if he really beleives it I will leave him alone.

So... did they ever fix the whole followers not scaling to your level after they've been met thing?

My Daedric Bow and I are ready.

I didn't see one on a couple of busted escort missions on my game. Bummer. At least they're still on top of some of these though. The arrow cleanup will also be nice, as I'm still finding arrows from when I was level 11, which was several in-game months and about 37 levels ago, though they do bring back fond memories of a time when I wasn't death incarnate and actually had to play more carefully.

What the fu- I did. Fuck yeah grass shadows.

Wait. Lydia is a marriage candidate and I get killcams?? And sweet, they haven't patched the Oghma Infinium on consoles yet. Score! I can still progress to where I'd like, then cheat my ass off to my heart's content.

Earnest Cavalli:
Granted, it's a minor tweak, but since years of videogames have made me a murderous sociopath, I dig it. The only thing better than killing some jerk is killing him with slow-motion flair!

If only I could cross Prototype/Darkness 2, Saint's Row the Third, and Skyrim, and maybe add in the Just Cause 2 sense of hilariously noteworthy bugs that don't actually cripple the game, all of my psychopathic urges could be satisfied in one go. I can see it now. A giant swings a giant wobbly dildo bat, the creature it hits gets half eviscerated as if it were dropped in a blender with a bucket of red paint and lots of tomatoes, and the other half disappears into orbit as a gleaming speck, only to come down and bounce two miles down the road. Oh, the majesty of the carnage.

I swear I'd need therapy if games weren't such and impressive outlet for such things.

Now I have a reason to boot up my old wizard again!

I've actually not encountered any horrible, horrible glitches that killed my characters forever. The worst glitch I've had was that time that the hagraven told me to kill the other hagraven, but I already did, and now I can't get rid of the damn quest to kill something that's already dead.

I did have a huge scare when I overwrited my last save in the bottom of the pit in "darkness returns" quest... scariest ten seconds I've had in a videogame. I really like my thief. O.O

I'm loving the new additions. But why have Bethesda still not fixed the bugs that are present in every single version/copy of Skyrim by now?

Does anybody else not find it hilarious that they are spending time creating new kill cams and other worthless crap where there is still so many game breaking bugs that have yet to be addressed.

Fantastic.

Indeed I have around 15 rolling saves on both my 360 and PC versions of Skyrim. It's been standard practice for me since Morrowind. I'm just really surprised that the bugs that aren't variable (i.e. the bugs that everyone will experience due to coding errors present in every single version of Skyrim) have yet to be fixed. I can't really envisage a Bethesda game without bugs - it's part of the umm.......charm.

Zaydin:
Hrm, looks like they are finally fixing the bug that prevents players from not being able to marry Lydia. That should make some people very happy.

I already fixed that in mine, I've been married to Lydia for a while now. It's just a quick console command on PC.

BTW, speaking of Skyrim bugs and the fixing thereof, does the image below look familiar? I seem to have picked up a bugged spell effect or something that won't go away and doesn't show up in the list of current effects. It doesn't seem to be affecting anything, it's just visual, but it's starting to get quite annoying. I have the thing you see below stuck to my character's feet, or waist when she's on a horse, with a constant billowing fog cloud streaming off it. AND I CAN'T GET RID OF IT!

That looks like the after effect of when an Ice Wraith hits you with its ice attack. Weird how it never went away for you. And sorry no I do not know how to fix it other than reloading from before it happened.

Damn. It's really bloody irritating. :-/

Thanks for replying, man. :)
