Final Fantasy Teams Up With Fashion Line Pages PREV 1 2 3 4 NEXT
Well.. my sister (who doesn't play videogame) gushed at how pretty FF13 looked. So I dunno.. I could see it reaching towards people who doesn't play videogame.
That gallery is creeptastic. Looking at it literally made me shudder.
... so this is what the premonition I had when I found out that FFX-2 felt more like Barbie Dress-up World was about. I thought I just ate some bad salmon.
Oh man, that suit is fly.
Three of them look creepy as hell, but Sazh looks surprisingly good, actually. Maybe it's because he's not staring straight at the viewer.
Boring. Let's talk more about the Gotham by Gaslight game and why it should be made.
Those are surprisingly nice looking clothes (for the most part). I was expecting batshit crazy. Doubt anyone can actually afford any of it though.
Next thing we know, you can play as Cloud in Guitar Hero 21: Rocking the Legends of Legendary Rocks.
I wanna see more final fantasy characters wearing other clothe companies? Like Hugo boss,Express maybe even holister???
I DEMAND CRAPPY FASHION BASED ON AN LONG PAST ITS PRIME JRPG!!!
| |
Am I crazy for thinking lighting looks pretty damn hot in those clothes?
HOLY MOTHER OF COWS! Just...just shut up and take my money! NOW! Why is it not working?! I'm throwing my wallet at the screen but nothing's happening! OH, MAKER, WHY?! Oh...well, I guess that's cool too. I WOULD like to see a line of clothing inspired by FF characters/clothing anyway. I'd buy that.Who wouldn't, huh? :l
...Wow. talk about bland. I was kinda hoping I'd be able to dress up like a Final Fantasy character... well, with maybe a slightly more subdued outfit...
Sazh looks good but that being said, I'm extremely disappointed by this: I was hoping to see Final Fantasy style clothes not horrible high fashion(?) clothes on Final Fantasy brand mannequins.
because you have tasty shoes
There is something inherently jarring about seeing Final Fantasy characters in what could pass for real clothing. Hope and Noel especially look really creepy.
What the...heck? | |
I feel so sorry for the models who really did wear the clothes in the original photos. I imagine the conversation going something like this. Model: "This is great! I'm going to be in a Prada ad! This will really help my career. Thank you so much!"
Honestly, Sazh is looking pretty damn fine. But seeing JRPG characters in real-person clothes makes my head hurt. Although . . . would this be what cosplay is like in videogame universes?
I... uh... have no words... Wait, I do have some! *pulls out paper* *ahem* So... when will Japan see these costumes as DLC for FFXIII-2?
it's just really weird. The characters are so CG (obviously) but the clothes were clearly worn by an actual model.
Epic... i have nothing else to say...i am done here
When I read the someone was making a Final Fantasy brand of clothing I wondered why technicolor, over designed monstrosities would be shown. These clothes actually look pretty normal. Don't get me wrong, their art style has its place; that place just isn't the real world.
Sazh actually doesn't look half bad. But Lightning looks she wants to (and ought to) strangle the person who made her wear that. It doesn't suit her at all.
This is so incredibly dumb, I almost can't believe it's real. Then again, I'd be lying if I said this was the worst idea I've ever seen executed by a horribly misguided multinational corporation. Also I'm with everyone who expected this to be some kind of far out experiment in high fashion. Considering what I've seen of high fashion, I figure it couldn't hurt to let the FF art team take a stab at real life clothing for a change.
So... is Squeenix going to stop making games now and start doing fashion? They might be better at this than they are at making games!
Dammit, you beat me to the punch, on both counts.
Ok, now this just looks like a really bad photoshop. Also, if it doesn't have feathers/Loads of wool and tassels/and Random Zippers to nowhere then it doesn't look right on FF characters.
Won't lie, I would totally rock what Sazh is wearing.
Well this made me like Hope even less than I already did, which is quite impressive as my dislike for him was already very strong. Sazh looks good in that suit, it's better for him than what he wore in the game. I also find Lighting strangely attractive in what she's wearing, I don't want to think what that reveals about me as a person.
Could it team up with a good fashion line at least? Number 3 looks like the Hawaiian shirts that my dad loves, and he has the fashion scene of a brick. Number 1 is alright, but that maybe because it is on a women and, pathetic creature that I am, that makes it harder to judge harshly.
Well, the characters of FF XIII all look like lifeless mannequins, might as well use them as such.
Just when you thought Square couldn't be any more of an abortion than they already were.
And maybe you should learn to realize that they're not making games for you, so shut the fuck up? :P You *obviously* don't care for it, so why bother? Others *will* play it and like it for what it is, who are YOU to dictate otherwise? Just because YOU don't like something, doesn't make it *terrible* for others. Hell, I hate everything about Mass Effect. But I don't give a flying fuck if people play it, it's just not my thing. Why don't people just learn to GROW UP?

You know, as hypercritical I've been to Square Enix these last few years, I'm actually all for this. It seems like this is where their art department really wants to go. Besides, as absurd as some of the more (now stereotypical) "belts-and-zippers" design is, I'm sure there's a large enough group of people who can really get into that.
And yes, I admit, I would actually wear a pair of Tripp-style trouser with a Square logo on them.
