Seconded. Although, Europe is more sane than the US. If you're gonna get up in arms about a game containing mature content, why the fuck would you go after nudity and sex when the game contains tons of violence? See: GTA or Mass Effect "scandals".

Except they aren't. More often than not, the German version is identical to other language versions (except the language, obviously). Heavily cut versions are the exception, not the rule, and in the majority of cases developers/publishers way overdo the cutting because they fear a prohibitively high age rating even though, at least in recent years, the German rating board hasn't been any more strict than those in other countries.

i would not censor anything. the dressing in tera is very good looking, my only complaint is that the males should share of the same greco-roman style approach to clothing. that is, barely any at all. no that is not sexual, i just find the dress code beautiful, if a bit on the erotic.

I respectfully disagree. From what I've seen, eroticism seems to be the ENTIRE POINT of the female dress code in TERA - The worst thing males get is an unbuttoned shirt, while almost everything the demon females wear looks like an Ivy cosplay.

i do think taking the blood out was weird though. the game has 12 year old girls who dont wear pants and ive seen porn movies with more clothing than the female humans and elves wear

Actually, their armors are already censored a bit, mostly by adding pants or skirts over their underpants. Of course there has been slight outrage over that as well. I personally think the censored designs look better for the most part.

This is another one of those games that will start slightly strong due to marketing and then there'll be maybe 20 people left playing it in 6 months.

I tend to go right off anything that a censor screws with- or that a developer fiddles with purely to appease a censor and get a certain rating. I'm not going to cancel my pre-order, because it's a hassle, but I probably won't go past the 30 free days either.

TERA is clearly an article of entertainment media aimed primarily at adults. Censorship of media aimed at a group defined by having the capacity and the right to choose for themselves is retarded. It protects nobody. It's the oppression of peers by those who are no better qualified than those whose hobbies they are fucking with to say what's okay and what's not.

I don't get this. Only our dumb neighbor censors our blood in their games (Steam has special "German versions"), and I don't understand why TERA EU has to suffer for it.

Also, it's been known for a fact since at least 90s or earlier that in Europe, sex is okay, blood isn't, and in America blood is okay, sex isn't.

That people are outraged that the developers gave them clothing for other countries makes me want to disable my ability to go into the dregs of the internet. I think the main issue is the fact that the US is completely uncensored with regards to blood whereas the EU has been censored pretty heavily. From what I understand it's to do with the distributors/ managers of the projects for each of the regions.

Enmasse are responsible for the NA servers whereas Frogster are responsible for the EU servers. I will agree that there is a lot of fanservice in the game but it's nice to see people getting up in arms about something non-sex related for once.

In my opinion, that is one odd reason to protest.

I thought that it would be something to do with the outrage people have over the little girls because "OMG whoever play's this game is a pedo" and all that. Im actully surprised Fox news hasn't jumped on this to declare that gaming creates pedos.

Im not going to complain about them protesting the removal of blood. It's censorship and doesn't really sit right with me. I'd probably be annoyed too if I had any interest in the game just because I know im playing a censored version.

Of course I wouldn't have thought it was that big a deal. Maybe let the developers know on their forums that they are displeased with it but I don't see the need for a petition. If they feel that strongly though then I wish them luck with it since I really don't want to be one of "those" people who whine and moan about gamer entitlement every time something like this happens.
