You have no idea or, more likely, are willingly blind and ignorant to what that movement was.

The movement was a fan-initiative to get Bioware to change the ending so it actually took the decisions players made into account, instead of giving us Casper the Space Ghost and his 'choice' clearly pre-defined endings.

With forum raging/spamming/trolling of Bioware, metabombing, hate mail, death threats, rating bombings, calls for firings...

And it wasn't a minority doing these things. There were certainly calls for civility from within but the movement had already defined itself by the majority its members actions.

If there were actually death threats involved, I'd be more worried about the person's safety, if anyone at all. Though if he actually committed murder over a game, that would be an interesting story to tell to his cellmates...

Anyway, as long as they do this effectively, I don't see how anyone other than the people who say that the endings were fine (personally, I doubt that those who say they liked the ending actually gave a shit about the franchise at all) would complain about it.

YES! Went out of town with my PS3 and when deciding which games to bring I didn't think Mass Effect 3 would be necessary, but then a little voice in my head was like "DLC!" So I decided, hmm doesn't hurt to bring along although the DLC probably won't come out while I'm away.

SO huzzah for little voices!! Now I can be disappointed or hopefully pleasantly surprised like everyone eles.

Hey, remember when you guys demanded charity money back when it turned out it wouldn't affect the ending?

I do. And it made me sad.

Yeah, there were some confusion about that. But the extend it happened to seems to have been grossly exaggerated. Bottomline was that $80k was donated to sick children. It is rather hard to vilify that.

chapta: "let it be" ...I wish it was that easy.

True, but I still call RME the biggest mess in consumer rights in the games industry.

It's free! No expectations! Fantastic.

I want it to be good, I really REALLY do but...god damn it, it's being made by the same people who green lighted the star child.

Not gonna get excited or anxious...okay, maybe a little bit anxious.

I'm just surprised at how big the size of the dlc is. Hmmm, just how many scenes are there? Wait, won't wonder about that either. I'm so torn!

Yeah well, the ending to Mass Effect 3 was the biggest fuck up in terms of ending a good series, so the way I see it it balances out.

Not really. Yeah the ending was bad but it still dosen't excuse death threats, rape threats and demanding dontations back.

The cupcakes thing though... Keep it up.

Death threats rape threats? Ok, pretty sure that you're exaggerating. Not everyone did that you know, even then it was only because of confusion and 80K still went to kids.

This is what I'm hoping for. If they have all this stuff...Well, I still won't be HAPPY, but I'll be much less pissed.

1. A better explanation of the Reaper's motivations. Right now, it doesn't make any fucking sense. As we all know. I'm not going to get into it.

2. A better explanation of what the flying fuck that kid even IS. Is he a reaper? Is the Citadel? Is the the Citadel a Reaper? Is he the entire Reaper Hive Mind? All of the above? What the fuck is he? (Preferably something NOT stupid)

3. The removal of the bit where Joker ends up on a random planet. Barring total removal, I would at least like a better explanation for why he's running, how my squad got there, how he even SURVIVES, etc. But even if they explain all that, it won't stop that entire thing from being INCREDIBLY anti-climactic. So Joker has to bone my (lesbian) love interest to repopulate the species, huh? Gee, how fucking inspiring. Oh, and I guess Garrus get's to watch. He sure as hell has nothing better to do. Yeah, that's a great final moment of the series.

4. You know what? Show them getting rescued. PLEASE. Just do ANYTHING that negates this plot point. This is honestly my biggest problem with the ending. YES I know about all the other stuff. Please don't quote me.

Yep, this is pretty much exactly what I have against the RME movement. The belief that anyone not in agreement with their viewpoint is not relevant. The assumption that only people who aren't paying attention could have a differing opinion.

I played ME1 and 2 repeatedly to experience the paragon and renegade stories. I went through the whole series again in the lead up to ME3 in order to have the perfect save going in to the new game. Each playthrough was completed to 100%.

And when ME3 came out, I did the same thing. I played all the way through, to 100%, as paragon and renegade, and I was happy with the whole game. Start to finish. It is easily one of the best games I have ever played.

So I'm glad that this dlc is going to be just an extension rather than a re-write. I'd be pretty irritated if what I experienced turned out to be all a crazy dream or some crap like that. It would pretty much destroy the validity of the whole series if it could be changed on a whim.

EDIT:

"Takes deep breath" ok, when I think about it it's not TOO bad, but it still seems rather weird and makes me feel uneasy.

I guess it would be more accurate to say that the story doesn't matter as much to you as some people (maybe it's better that way). From what I've heard, according to the lore, pretty much everyone gets screwed over... wait. Something just occured to me. Maybe the idea isn't so much to allow the different races in ME continue to exist as it is to allow whatever races that will exist in the future to do so (apparently, the Mass Relays will strand everyone in Earth's solar system, killing everyone there due to starvation). Basically, in the short term, things will seem pretty ugly, while in the long term, future races thousands of years in the future won't have to worry about synthetic/organic abominations attempting to exterminate them all. So I guess all that's left is the inconsistency of the endings. ^^

I can't wait for Bob to make another video about this, when he's not complaining that the medium has evolved too much and every game should be exactly like Mario 3.

Hacket told Joker to leave Sol...ADMIRAL HACKET told Joker to ABANDON Shepard.......

EDIT:

"Takes deep breath" ok, when I think about it it's not TOO bad, but it still seems rather weird and makes me feel uneasy. Why are they just leaving the crucible open to enemy fire? Why are they clearing away from it? It just makes me nervous about what is to come.

aggghhhhh!

we didn't need to know that..seriously....spoilers

New DLC pack "expands on the meaning of the original endings" of Mass Effect 3.

Still going to involve the holo child and 3 choices? DOES NOT IMPROVE MY IDEA OF A GOOD ENDING. I played through ME3 1 time. I don't think I'll even pay this DLC any attention. SO much disappointment.

Crap sorry. I removed it, please remove the section where I talk about it,

Everyone. Please, please, PLEASE DO NOT procure this DLC. It will only send BioBEware the message that they're doing a good job when they clearly aren't.

I'd have to disagree, in the sense that when the endings were leaked a second time, people said "now now, maybe it will make sense in context!". The rest is known. Now, in the case of this pic...

okay well that crushed what little hopes down of what I had for the Extended Cut down to a pebble stone.

still I hope the internet gets angry at bioware at even a 5th the amount they did with the original ending because last time was so hilarious.

Vault101:

And then you go and put it in the quote making that all meaningless. Good job.

That said that already came up in some form when looking at the cut content. It seems to me that a lot of this is just restoring things that were cut. Which could be good or bad.

I'm one of those people that was somewhat disappointed by the ending, but didn't think it was that bad in the grand scheme of things.

sorry....I was just kind of WTF! at that point...my mistake

I really wish people would keep that shit to themselfs....

1.9 gigs? Jesus fuck, I'll just wait until they're recorded and put on YouTube.

As always, I speculate that the mass relays were repaired and all was right with the universe.

Yeah... unless BW got some competent writers since release, I'm not holding my breath.

I don't care anymore. Even if it turns out to be exactly what I wanted (indoctrination theory). My rage has sated, and I've come out as being eternally fixated on complete aversion to anything EA and specifically BioWare, and no amount of DLC is going to fix it.

Good thing there's youtube.

That's just...

If the cosmic kiddy from the end isn't gone the only closure I'm going to get from that game is
putting it in the sandwich press

Shepherd is still dead
Buy more DLC

So they explain why Joker is acting out of character and being a coward. Bioware, I'll hold off my final opinion on the DLC until it comes out but it's already not looking good.

Cid SilverWing:

If the DLC cost money that would make sense. However it does not, so how would this send the message they are doing a good job?

By the way, has anyone told to the indoctrination theory believers about this? All details that came out so far kind of burn that one theory to the ground.

And, well, the screenshot with that line from Hackett does sound like a cheesy way to get out of the corner the writers put themselves into.

Also, they won't change the ending in any way, so space-godchildren can still overrule your right to think rationally and forces you into the ending. I guess they will add a few dialogues with him, too, but most of the content are simply videos that show the different outcomes. Considering how many people were mad at the ending itself, this accomplishes nothing from their point of view.
