4chan Exacts Vengeance on Spiteful Fast Food Worker

Turns out 4chan isn't the best place to brag about messing with people's food.

As a forum community that hinges on complete anonymity and an anything-goes environment, 4chan and its associated group 'Anonymous' tend to be wildcards. Their appearances in the news range from getting busted for child pornography to collaborating with the FBI to prevent a school shooting. Fortunately for society at large, 4chan users have once again used their powers for good; this time, they've tracked down a Burger King employee and had him fired for violating health and safety standards.

An anonymous user - presumably the culprit himself - posted a picture of a Burger King employee standing in two tubs of lettuce with the caption, "This is the lettuce you eat at Burger King." Unfortunately for the lettuce stomper, he forgot to take into account the file's Exif data, which betrayed the GPS location of the photo. Other 4chan users quickly ferreted out this data and pinpointed the exact location of the Ohio Burger King branch, then proceeded to alert local news outlets.

Cleveland Scene picked up the story and contacted the Burger King franchise in question, and the manager's reaction was immediate. She took one look at the photo in question and stated, "Oh, I know who that is. He's getting fired." She further stated that the manager on shift at the time would also be shown the door. According to a subsequent official statement from Burger King sent to Fox 8 Cleveland, the employee has indeed been swiftly terminated. Not bad, considering the original post went online just two days ago.

And people always wondered why when I go to a fast food place I always just ask for a PLAIN hamburger. Well there's your reason.

I bet that guy's manager is so pissed. Hopefully they aren't in the same D&D group. That'd be so awkward.

It's a fast food place and we're only questioning the lettuce? Yeah, nice tree, but where's the forest?

Wow.
Owned, I guess.
It's nice when arseholes get what's coming to them.
And I don't eat at Burger King anyway.

The fact that someone posts such a violation of health regulations ...
The fact that the person who took the photo was too dumb to remove the EXIF data ...
The fact that it took bloody 4chan to be the "hero" on that one ...
The fact that society is in a state which makes this not only newsworthy, but also insanely hilarious ...

I dunno, guys, which of those is worst?

Well at least like WTFIWWY has some new material, that ISN'T from Florida.
Letus eat fries... with that.

Wait till they check the mayonaise O_o

I know it isn't quite right, but that's the first thing that came to mind.

And good on those anons I guess. Another day gone by, another lettuce saved.

I read a story recently about a teen who bragged about murdering an elderly (60+) person on Facebook.

By those sort of standards, failing to remove the EXIF data is positively genius level.

This title was too good to pass up. Well good on anons for taking this douche down. Not that I trust Burger King anyways for it's cleanliness but this just makes me not want to eat there even more. Burger King tends to hire the most ghetto/rude people imaginable from my experience.

For that last bit, it most likely got a little recognition from around the area, but its not gonna be a national affair. Its a news story here because it involves 4chan, and The Escapist never lets a story go by that about Anonymous or 4chan.

Also, I would say the first is the worse.

Ah, 4chan, where posting loli hentai gets you props, and lettuce-stomping gets you fired. Where would we be without you?

Sometimes, the system works. And sometimes, something good comes from 4chan. These things happen. Though, bets on that the only reason it happened was because no one wants the twat to get away with it, since we all like to enjoy our food.

That's nothing. I remember reading a story a while back about a guy who broke into another guy's home, took pictures, bragged about it on Facebook, posted the pictures, all from the computer in the house he broke into AND LEFT IT LOGGED INTO HIS FACEBOOK.

captcha: "nobody home"
nope, but the lights are one though.

Based on the Kodomo No Jikan icon, I assume you're familiar with the site?

In an "I know what it is" kind of way.

Oh Kodomo no Jikan...you so crazy. Once you get past the shocking wrapping on this present it's a fairly standard comedy/romance anime. Somehow disappointing in the fact that the loli this is what they were hanging their hats on.

Was I the only one in the thread? I thought it was BS at first. I can't believe it made the news...yesterday.

>Escapist is late to the party

Sounds like someone never read the manga, or even saw the second season and OVAs.

Escapist is always late to the party. 90% of the time someone posted it on the forums hours before they did it themselves.
Now that I think of it, the Escapist barely makes articles themselves at all. They just take things from different websites and rewrite it a little bit. Maybe insert a bit (or usually a LOT) of bias on the way.

I don't eat at BurgerKing. I guess I have solid reason why now.
In n' Out all the way.

capcha: how about lunch

And justice prevails, all thanks to random board (/b/) of 4chan. My only hope is that boards such as /k/ (Weapons) and /pol/ (Politically Incorrect) don't ever get this proactive.

Wait... what? If I'm missing a joke, I apologize.

Honestly I'd rather eat a piece of lettuce that's been mishandled than a piece of meat. You get weird diseases and stuff when you tamper with meat...

Too bad that wasn't Burger King's official response. I'm a huge fan of handling PR exclusively with memes and .gifs.

Especially if they're from ATLA.

That was completely out of left field but absolutely brilliant at the same time!

Glad this guy got what was coming to him, jobs are hard to find for alot of people and its sad to see someone abuse their opportunity to make money. At least he didn't ejaculate in the mayonnaise, that's what I was expecting to hear when I clicked on the article with knowledge that 4Chan was involved.

Heh. Always good to see a dickhead get comeuppance for being a dickhead. Seriously, why would you actually do something like that?

Woo, anther Nash fan!

On-topic, good. Assholes like this deserve what comes to them. You want to be an idiot, you are now a fired idiot. Good luck getting a job in this economy with that on your record.

Wow... I am glad I don't eat at Hungry Jacks (The australian branch of Burger king) anymore! "Hungry Jacks: Come for the cold burgers, stay for people that take "step on it" literally!"

Real impartial justice came out of 4chan?

I think that's a first.

I think the message is pretty clear, "Don't mess with our takeout."

I wouldn't say it's impartial.

Mans probably messing with their primary food source.

Front page title: "4Chan Targets Fast Food Employee For Stepping On Lettuce"

That's a candidate for "Best Article Title Of The Year" right there.

My question is: Why would the employee be sabotaging the lettuce with his nasty work shoes? Was it due to trying and be humorous and gross people out? Or like being cool with the caption or something? I'm really trying to find logic behind all of this but- I can't really figure it out so glad he's been fired.

This reminds me when Taco Bell had gotten over a thousand and more counting people sick from their lettuce. Most assumed an employee at the Taco Bell or even from a factory that sells lettuce to Taco Bell didn't wash his/her hands before touching all the lettuce. Still, eating out is a risk to me and this is proof right here lol..

Also doesn't surprise me that 4chan did a good deed, they're the ones who also made Katawa Shoujo and my god is it the best Dating Sims game ever.
