"Krogan Vanguard Rage now works properly."
"Fixed the Vanguard bounce bug."
Thank goodness!
Time to wreck shit up!

"...Origin..."

You do realize that by the end of day 0 it'll be on the other channels right?

If it doesn't patch the starchild out of the game, i'm not interested.

Nothing in there about fixing the Slayer falling out of the map/above the map/all over the place due to it's teleport-dodge...

Aaaaahhhhhh Choooooopatchtheendingooooo!

I mean, great news.

pandorum:
As long as it fixes the weapons in cut scenes problem, there is a perfectly powerful black widow on my back and poof magic avenger or magic predator when I forked out 12 million credits buying the paladin and upgrading it I want to see it in action dammit.

That was in both 2 and 3. They're not going to fix it, because it would take too much work - it's the same as asking why Shepard doesn't get unique cutscenes where s/he uses their class-specific abilities to resolve a situation or save themselves. They won't do it.

The majority of these fixes are multiplayer-based, with a few SP fixes put in just for lipservice. The major stuff (black-screen crashes when booting up the game, the save game file transfer errors) was fixed by the fans months ago. They still haven't fixed the bizarre "broken-neck" animations, nor have they fixed the missing LotSB-specific Liara romance lines, Leviathan bug that removes a couple lines of dialog from the ending, FemShep's missing line on Priority: Earth or the wacky "Low-EMS" Extended-Destroy ending where the nameplate floats in midair if almost all of your squadmates are dead, either.

Too little, too late.

CAPTCHA: make haste!

Damn, there's still so much hate towards ME3, Bioware, and EA. I'm not saying that it's all unfounded, but at some point enough is fucking enough. They did their best trying to appease all the children complaining about the ending, and people are still bitching about it! It really is time to let go and let bygones be bygones. I don't play it as much as I used to, but that's because I have other games at the moment. I'm not still complaining that the original ending was sub-par, which I never really thought to begin with. The simple fact that they made a patch like this shows that Bioware still cares about their fanbase and they want to keep improving their products. Frankly, I've been looking for a reason to go back to ME3, and showing some friends this patch might be good enough to get our whole group together again.

The complaining about the people who hated the ending is just as bad, if not worse. I'm not debating semantics here, though.

Sorry, a multiplayer patch released more than half-a-year after the fact is not "caring about the fanbase". If you actually took a look at what's included in this, most of it is multiplayer nerfs. As I said, the game has far more prevalent issues affecting it that still haven't been resolved to this day. The save game transfer problem was "solved" several times in patches, and it still caused major problems for people. It took a fan-made patch to get things in working order again. Likewise, the framerate issue on the PS3 and the litany of bugs I mentioned in my prior post are still mostly ignored or will never be patched.

I laughed at your comment about "still caring about the fanbase". Their forums are a hive of negativity, both on the part of the moderators and the few overzealous fans valiantly defending an inferior product.

It used to be that, with their older products, the patches they used to come up with actually solved major issues, or were semi-official projects (David Gaider's BG2 Ascension mod, and his participation on BG message boards) that corrected a lot and added even more to an already-stacked product.

Now you're heaping praise on them for having the foresight to release a heavily-stacked multiplayer nerf patch more than 6 months after the fact, and doesn't actually resolve long-outstanding issues that were first brought up when the game was first released. Uh-huh.

Frankly, I've been looking for a reason to go back to ME3, and showing some friends this patch might be good enough to get our whole group together again.

Well, at this point, it seems multiplayer is the only thing this game still has going for it.

if i could ever get onto the EA severs for more then 5 and a half secs, i... wait how a about fixing that?!

I still have the game on my computer, but haven't played it since Leviathan hit.

The only reason that I still have it on my hard drive is that I'm waiting for Omega DLC.

Aggieknight:
People still play ME3?

Yes, thank's for asking

tmande2nd:
Who really gives a damn?
I know only ONE person who still plays ME3.

Now you know two!

OT Good list of fixes, can't wait to get back onto MP this weekend!

Obviously this is newsworthy

Really? 6 month old game gets minor patch? What exactly is newsworthy about that?

I love how the lower you get down the page the more bitter, stupid and pointless the comments become. "Ending WAA WAA WAA" Christ just play something else.

Hmm, yes, but did they patch the shitty endings?

No?

Then I still don't give a fuck.

captcha: i'm sorry dave.

Uhhh, ha, okay, kinda starting to sound like HAL 9000 here captcha.

Yeah, none of your opinions are valid anymore. If you like mediocrity, then go enjoy it somewhere else.

It seems you can hate a game so much you must take every chance to tell people how much you hate it and in great detail....on multiple threads, so maybe take it as read that this update might not be for you. I like the game, I still liked it, I liked it before the Extended cut endings and liked it even more after, so for me anything that makes the game ready for more dlc is fine by me.

Layzor:
Blah blah blah, EA sucks, Blah Blah Blah this game is old and I don't care.

At what point does a game become old to you? 6-7 months doesn't seem like that long for me. It might be rather long for a patch to be released but the game itself isn't old.

I'm pretty sure you just quickly & efficiently proved his point.

It was then Bert realized, "I have a rank 3 Wraith I never get to use. So who is truly getting nerfed here?"

And still no change to the ending. :P

Yes, I'm still mad.

Since when are you the master of deciding whose thoughts matter and whose don't?

Well, better late than never, although I didn't notice many bugs while playing it.
Even if patch is mostly going to target multiplayer fixes and prep the ground for new content, we can hardly complain about them fixing things.
I've recently started playing it again and even plan to try out some multiplayer so it's nice to have things work the way they were supposed to.

The few people who defend the game are more annoying than the bandwagon of hate that turns up to throw a hissy fit any time the game is even mentioned? I think not.

I will openly say I really enjoyed ME3. Not enough for me to have another play-through to try this patch mind, but I still thought it was every bit as good as its predecessors. If someone else doesn't like the game, I'm fine with that, it's their taste, but turning up on thread that has nothing to do with the ending, 6 months after the matter to complain and shout down anyone who disagrees is just petty beyond belief.

EDIT: not that I'm accusing you specifically of any of that, Crazyrabbits

Fixed the SMG Ultralight bug, fixed Vanguard glitching, made Singularity not disappear when detonated, Marksman fills ammo, bonus money for extraction... looks like a lot of good stuff.

putowtin:

make that 3
6 counting the other 3 I play with

I don't get why people keep assuming NOBODY plays it, especially given that the game is really fun

It's gaming news involving a huge gaming franchise, this is a gaming news site (among other things), thus == newsworthy.

As I've said before, there are extremists on both sides. Yet, by and large, the people who've criticized the game have been much more well-behaved and rational than the fans who come in and yell about what they perceive is complaining.

Again, no semantics, but I've watched the BSN since the game was released. We wouldn't have had the EC if it wasn't for the people (fans and regular players alike) criticizing the major problems. There are still issues that haven't been worked out, which is what I was hoping this patch would address (missing voiced lines in the campaign, the PS3 black-screen error, the general bugginess of the product).
