Bethesda Unveils Dragonborn Trailer Pages PREV 1 2 3 NEXT
That's cool and all, but I think they fail to understand exactly how much ass my level 50 character (and I'm guessing, most other people's similar characters) kicks. There will be plot, there will be dungeons, but pretty much as soon as there's a straight line between me and this "First Dragonborn" that doesn't involve plot armor- it's over.
I for one welcome our new dragonborn overlords. I'm curious to see how the story is handled. While it may be a bit cliche (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/EvilCounterpart), I tend to enjoy the villains who are a dark reflection of the hero, showing how evil the hero could be if he were to slip. If it's done well that is (not just blantant "hero but evil").
God damn, do I get Skyrim in the Christmas sales or wait for the GOTY, I don't think I can wait much longer!
They're getting Microsoft's money, they don't care.
O_O also I totally agree, first DLC/addon I will buy for skyrim after all this other crap
I have been playing Morrowind this past couple of weeks; I saw Morrowind enemies, Morrowind architecture, and the spoilers coded 1.8 mentioned Morrowind armors. And was that bound armor? Holy shit. Only thing that could make me any happier is spears; I don't think I saw any (other than that Reikling with a lance, which was a shortsword in MW). TAKE MY MONEY; this looks way better than DG (which I guess is like KotN or Tribunal; haven't played Oblivion). Also, our Dragonborn can be kind of a dick anyway; so the whole "evil counterpart" is meh. Although we don't use our powers to usurp the throne of King and rule with an iron fist...... sounds fun to me....
So with 30-day exclusivity, it'll miss Christmas on PC. Don't most publishers WANT their games out before Christmas?
lets hope Paarthunax has a part in it i feel like he is the perfect mentor
The soundtrack to the trailer sounds awesome. I think I'll consult google regarding whether it's buyable somewhere on the internets.
I hope it give me more to do with my Dragon souls. I only have a few I consider useful and the souls just keep piling up.
How insightful :) Corporations only care about half the money, not all of it. In all seriousness I can't see it likely that Microsoft took a hit on this one game, no matter how popular, in order to get exclusive rights, to the extent that it would outweight what Bethesda would get from PS3 and PC users. PC user will evertually get it true, but how many will be turned off by this tactic?
There are just too many awesome things in the trailer. Redoran and Televanni buildings, ricklings, and neetches all being in there makes me happy. I really hope that we will be able to join great houses in this one like in Morrowind. Would be great. Also, if there is flying in the form of dragon mounts, does this mean we can also have levitation back? Please?
Welp, time to prove once and for all that I am the better Dragonborn. You don't think you can just awaken and not attract my attention, did you mystery Dragonborn?
Looks very nice but I guess I won't be playing it soon. I'm still waiting for Dawnguard's price on Steam to be reasonable before I get it. This trailer makes me want to play Morrowind with the Morrowind Overhaul plugin.
All this game needs now is spears and I can have my very own Dragoon Dragonborn. YOU HEAR ME, BETHESDA? GIVE ME MY DRAGOON DREAM, DAMN YOU! *ahem* Going back to Morrowind, eh? This is too awesome. I have the fondest of memories running around Morrowind while high on Skooma. Literally, I ran around Morrowind. I chuckled so hard the first time I did it. We've seen a glimpse of the new armors and whatnot, but I'm left wondering what new mage thingys we'll find - after all, the Great Houses of Morrowind are well known for their powerful mages and magics. I think if Bethesda were to incorporate the idea of remaking both Morrowind AND Oblivion on the Skyrim engine, they'd make a killing all over again; and I, for one, would not mind whatsoever.
*checks to see how far away Christmas is* *notes Christmas shopping is done for immediate family members* *checks wallet* *acquires shit-eating grin* Doot dooty do... *gets to planning*
I saw a person riding a dragon. I distinctly saw a person riding a dragon. I know what Tod Howard said, but oh my god. I also think I saw the dragon born stop time. I'm super excited for these, it seems for like an expansion than dawnguard.
It's only being delayed for the PC. PS3 owners won't get it at all, because Bethesda's Q&A department is entirely staffed by mentally challenged moray eels.
Looking forward to it, hopefully it's more engaging then Hearthfire anyway.
Aw, now this is more like it! I think I will be getting this DLC. Although given that my best Dragonborn isn't exactly an upstanding pillar of the community, I can see a bit of a problem with this storyline. In fact, the 'bad guy' could only be marginally worse than my fellow.
Well, fun fact...this might be the very first DLC I get. As in, my first DLC ever. Yeah.
So, Dovakin vs Dovakin. Knowing combat in TES games all I can think of is: "LET THE ANTI-CLIMATIC SWORD-SLAPFIGHT BEGIN!"
Just one question about the dragon-rider thing: Someone did a test on the PC using the console where they levitated to the height that dragons fly at and set their speed to a dragon flying. It took them less than a minute to cross all of Skyrim. My question is, unless Solstheim is scaled such that it's ten times bigger than Skyrim is, how is dragon riding going to work in the slightest? It might just destroy the epic sense of scale and adventure if I can hop on a dragon in Riften and get off a minute later in Markarth.
AH AHHH AHAHHHAHAAH AHAHAHAHAH! Wow. Now THAT was a rollercoaster of a trailer. So many new enemies, another Dragonborn, dragon mounts. Just spectacular.
Yeah, if we can't ride Paarthurnax (or Odahving) I'll feel the entire dragon mount gimmick is wasted... but I'm positively dying to get an HD taste of my Morrowind days (+ what seems like Ash Vampires). I've said it before, though, it deserves being said 1,000 times - this better be the fucking Shivering Isles of Skyrim. The DLC so far is pathetic.
As much as I like Skyrim, I don't play it a lot anymore. However, riding dragons seems pretty fun... Not sure if I'd buy it though. Didn't buy any other ones. Still... DAMN IT, you linked TV tropes! You just had to. Now I've lost more than an hour of my life...
Idk... maybe Hearthfire wasn't considered a DLC in the strictest sense? good question though. OT: # me excited!
I don't understand the lore argument people are making against riding dragons. This wont be the first time that the Dragonborn rides a dragon. It'll just be the first time we control it. I think this looks cool overall. And hopefully it's a nice big meaty expansion.
This definitely gets my panties in a twist! I mean boxers.
I want to watch the trailer. I do. But I own the PS3 version of Skyrim. As such, as the article says, I'll have to wait. And wait. And wait. Keep waiting. Still waiting...sigh. I just don't want to get my hopes up again.
(EDIT: Stupid double post)
Do WANT! I still don't Dawnguard or Hearthfire (DLC?)...but I'd get this as soon as its available.
sorry to disappoint you but it's not going to happen due to an option the player has in the game.
Actually according to the news entry on Escapist, it IS Max Von Sydow. Having listened to it a few times it sure sounds like him.
So we get to go to Solstheim AND Apocrypha (Hermaeus Mora's crazy library realm). This is looking pretty awesome I must say.
REALLY? I didn't just say that out of the blue, you know. The article said Max Von Sydow, I said it doesn't sound like him. Why else would I mention that?
