Big Deal on the Internet

image

Welcome to "Big Deal on the Internet" - our new weekly news post that will bring you the biggest gaming deals across the internet every Tuesday.

It's powered by our friends at Dealzon, who search through all the tubes of the interwebs to find the best prices and coupons on all the gaming stuff you need, including the latest console titles, PC digital copies, Xbox LIVE discounts, console and PC hardware and accessories, and more.

We promise to only share deals from legitimate retailers that we'd use ourselves, so you'll have to excuse our not listing every shady CD key web shop out there.

We work hard to provide current and accurate deals, but since prices and discounts can be fluid and often change without notice, please accept our apology in advance for the inevitable occasions when a deal expires or goes out of stock by the time you click it. And if you spot a good deal not listed, let us know in the comments and we'll be sure to investigate!

And now we present..."Big Deal on the Internet"

This week we have the best deals on the brand new Black Ops 2 (Dell's throwing in a $20 eGift Card) as well as four of today's releases on PC. And if you're one of the four people who hasn't bought Halo 4 yet, Dell offers the $20 bonus on that game, too.

Also notable are XCOM Enemy Unknown PC download version at GMG for $12.50 less than Amazon and a half-price deal on Battlefield 3 Premium download.

In hardware, the MW3 edition Logitech G105 keyboard that just dropped to a new all-time low price ($55 cheaper than a year ago), and we have coupons for the new Lenovo Y series IdeaPads that can hold second GPU via swappable optical drive.

That's okay, I'll just be over here.

In the UK.

Not getting fabulous deals.

*sniff*

Pssshhh big deal....

For about 2 seconds I thought an ad bot had taken over my computer or the site, I'm glad that's entirely not true. This is an excellent and very helpful first edition, and I certainly have my eyes open for some of those deals when I get some money aside for them. Software, hardware, PC and console, no stone left un-turned!

I wondered why there was no Nintendo but then I remember that they almost never have decent discounts on their stuff >:C

Woah, free game, not going to say no to that even if it was made in 2005!

Love the idea, unfortunately can't take advantage of it.

Damn you and damn your deals. =P

The TRU deal is actually better than that suggests if you have a friend also buying it. See here. Considering how many deals come and go (and go out of stock) in less than a week's time, checking there or CAG in between couldn't hurt if you don't want to miss out on stuff.

It's a scam, someone has hacked Janelle's account. Don't give them your banking information!

(jk, in case you haven't caught on).

Has awesome deals, only in America...

I feel cheated!

Oh well, I get fabulous deals at my local gameshop anyway (Deus Ex: Human Revolution for 10 quid, Persona 3 Portable for 5 quid, Fallout 1+2+Tactics for 7 quid, don't mind if I do)

My local gameshop is basically like a retail version of steam!

I like these segments in theory, though they're interest levels are bound to how generous retailers are feeling that week.

Uhh, I don't know why, but this just doesn't feel like it really belongs.
I mean since it's a weekly thing odds are the really amazing deals that pop up for like a day or so will be long gone before this comes out (for example the Prototype pack was $7.50 on amazon Friday). Some of them are just the standard random 10 or so percent off; see Greenman gaming. It's just weird to see a small snippet like this from one of the numerous deal sites on the net, might as well just redirect to the deal site and check it daily.

The solutions simple. We go to America, steal all the deals and bring them back to the UK and sell them at reasonable prices! There are no flaws to the plan.

Gamedeals on reddit Daystar lol. You just missed a bunch of great ones for Europe, including one that resulted in essentially free Ubisoft games.

Ohhh....I needed a new headset and that 10 bucks off Chivalry is pretty awesome. Love this segment

I have savy gamer in my rss feed, UK only deals from across the tubes, basically the exact same as the above.

OT: Im at that point in life where work is killing my gaming time so I can sadly/awesomely afford to wait for games to come up in deals like these.
Growing up sucks balls.

I wonder if the site http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/ actually has stuff outside of the USA.

It's free software. Sometimes it's relatively obvious stuff like AV software that's already free, or Open Office, but other times you can get good relatively obscure stuff.

damn it escapist, I'm trying to put off buying xcom as best I can but how am I supposed to when things like this are brought to my attention

Edit: it seems my bank and GMG don't play nice so now to just wait until a steam sale, I guess

Is it bad that I didn't care what the free game was or took the time to even read a word of the description before grabbing it?

Thanks for the free game Escapist, I <3 you. I think this is a great new series and I can't wait for more.

let's be honest escapist, nobody would buy too human even if it was free

$12.50... That's an awesome deal! Wait... what? Ah, I misread it.

Why the hell is the list price of Too human still $20 it wasn't worth that much at launch.

What? I look good in red.

This is a nice feature, I'll be looking out for it, but you need to be a bit more international. Maybe chuck in a section for deals everyone can cash in on too.

As Daystar Clarion kinda said, most of if-not-all of these deals are out of reach. They don't actually apply to half of the community, being across the pond and/or around the world.

I certainly would use these lists in the coming months, assuming all of the recommended discounts are legitimate and not scams and they're eligible in the UK.

This completely. It's a nice idea, but it's a real shame they've decided to limit it to American users only.

Something TotalBiscuit was doing for a while was having the prices displayed in Pounds, Euros and Dollars, so maybe they could try something similar with the online download deals? (though I appreciate that it obviously wouldn't apply to retail games).

Damn it man! This is a covert operation, we can't just go about stealing Tea and taxes all willy-nilly! We need to hold a proper state of decorum and prove we are better then those animals.

We don't dump tea into harbours. It's clear who's better. ;)
Besides, surely it takes more decorum to march about with drums than to be all sneaky?
Lastly it's not stealing, it's calling in a debt. :P

Excellent.

Here's forty shillings on the drum for those who volunteer to come
To 'list and fight the foe today - Over the hills and far away

O'er the hills and o'er the main, Through Flanders Portugal and Spain
King George commands and we obey - Over the hills and far away.

We may have strayed a little off topic...
