Ex-Design Director Suggests Saints Row 4 by August

Could publisher Deep Silver already be ready to show off their newly acquired IP?

THQ spokesperson Danny Blison revealed that work on Saints Row 4 had already begun back before Saints Row: The Third was even released. But given that THQ recently collapsed, and the Saints Row property was been sold to a new publisher, people assumed that we wouldn't be seeing a sequel to the GTA-a-like sandbox action game any time soon. However, recent Twitter comments from Chris Stockman, the design director of the original Saints Row game, suggest that Saints Row 4 may be closer than we thought.

Publisher Deep Silver has not announced any details about the new title as of yet, including which platforms it may be released on. Despite this, Stockman says the game will be released for current generation consoles in late August. We previously learned that Enter the Dominatrix, which was originally planned as an expansion pack for Saints Row: The Third will instead be included in the next Saints Row game.

Grand Theft Auto V was recently delayed to a September 2013 release date. If this information is accurate, it would put Saints Row's release a full month ahead of it's main rival.

THQ recently sold off the majority of its assets, including the Saints Row and Metro properties to Deep Silver parent company Koch Media. Deep Silver most recently published Techland's Dead Island.

Ugh, I hate yearly releases. Never enough timr to make a real quality title. Figure out what worked, what didnt, and then come talk to me in 2014. Hell 2015 would be fine. [i]Take your time[i] and do it right.

Now all they need to do is make it first person and the game might as well be a COD mod.

This kind of sounds like they're rushing it out. This can't end well.

Think the last one was a bit rushed and it turned out ok, not as good as saints 2 but good enough for me to waste hours on it :)

Im personally hoping that SR4 is more inline with SR2 and less with SRTT. As fun as SRTT was, it just didnt bring the same enjoyment as SR2. To zany.

what about PC? he said nothing about that how am i suppose to play the latest game from my third favourite franchise if im not sure if it will come out on the only platform that matters at all
anyway i was super worried when THQ went bust there were so many SR could have been killed off but now not so worried at least SR4 will come out its just the state its in that we will have to wait and see

It will most likely be on PC but it won't make a difference either way since quite a few will grab it for their consoles anyway.

Awesome right for just after my birthday, so I'm still gonna have money to buy this bitch YEAH!

And everyone who is saying it was rushed Voltion make the games and if it was being made before SR3 was even released I have hopes for it. I mean SR2 was being made before SR1 released and everyone loves that.

Excellent. Will look forward to this, SR3 was great. More of that with superpowers...recipe for success!

THQ was planning SR4 to be released about then, they started working on SR4 before SR3 was even finished.

I'm so excited for this game it's not even funny. I wish a proper announcement comes out in a few weeks, don't want to hype for nothing.

Well that was a short turn around but after the overall hollow experience that was SR3 i think i will pass on this until it gets a GoTY edition.
