Civ V Lead Designer Branches Out with Indie Strategy Kickstarter

In Conifer Games' first project you get to be the barbarians sacking Rome.

Let me get this straight, the guy that left fraxis is starting a kick starter to make a game just like the fall of rome scenario from civ3 conquest expansion pack. Instead of giving your money to this, just buy civ3 complete. You will get this game plus a bunch of other stuff for about the same price.

It actually looks/sounds completely different than Civ. Did you not read the story?

One is a histrocial 4x 2d game which involves you playing barbarians and the other is histrocial 4x 2d game which involves you playing barbarians.

here is screenshot from fall of rome image

here is screenshot from from at the gatesimage

Spot the difference?

One is made in the Civ 3 engine? And the screenshot has an IGN logo? I'm not getting your point.

ill be supporting it in a couple of weeks. its a pretty rare part of history and an angle for games, even the strategy games to cover. plus the team know what they are doing

the weather effect looks like it will add alot of detail as well not to mention being able to pack up and move your kingdom.

rome will BURN !!!

So a guy quits Civilization making to make an inferior civilization game, but instead get funding from a kick-starter. Why does this sound completely like a conspiracy to suck us money for our love of kickstarter?

...You say this as though being the barbarians is a new thing...

That the game already exists as a Civ 3 scenario.
You could at least read what he writes.
