Big Deal on the Internet: Amazon's Farewell to February Sale
"Free" games abound this week with Newegg offering over 10 titles for "free" after mail-in-rebate.
From now until March 1st, Newegg has a slew of PC games available for "free" after rebate. You get a $10 Newegg Prepaid Visa Card in exchange for dealing with the mail-in-rebate. Limit one per household per publisher, check out our full list of available games here (they're selling out fast so apologies in advance if you're seeing a sold out message).
New low for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 on the PS3 and Xbox 360 from NewEgg. It's odd that they're selling it through their eBay account, but at $29.99 with free shipping, which is cheapest ever by $10, we won't complain. Next best price online is Amazon for $39.99 but most retailers are still in the $50-$60 range.
Jack Black stars in Double Fine's Brutal Legend which was finally released for the PC today. Most download sites are still charging $19.99. Steam had a pre-order special for $14.99, but since the game released they are back up to full MSRP. Green Man Gaming has a $5 instant discount and a 20% off coupon that drop the price to $9.60.
Through Thursday, Amazon has a "Farewell to February" sale with discounts on ~800 PC games. On top of that there is a single-use 25% off coupon code for an even larger discount. While most games aren't at their lowest prices ever, there are plenty of titles cheaper than usual, and we've noted several below.
