Digital distributor Bluefish Media gets bought by SCi Entertainment.
Mere days after adding merger and acquisitions expert Don Johnston to the company's board of directors, SCi Entertainment has purchased Bluefish Media. The German digital game publisher specializes in distributing games for developers such as MumboJumbo and PopCap. For 3 million euros ($4 million) in cash and stock and an initial cash payment of 1.25 million euros ($1.7 million), SCi will take over Bluefish's Bonn, Germany and Los Angeles offices and remodel the distribution service under the Eidos name.
Simon Protheroe, new media and IT director at Eidos, commented on the acquisition. "Bluefish is an important acquisition for Eidos. We expect the digital distribution of products to become increasingly important, offering improved margins and a direct relationship with our customers."
