Free Stronghold Crusader HD, Wii U Price Drop

Free Stronghold Crusader HD, Wii U Price Drop

Pft. Eighth-gen game console? Halo TV series? Forza 5? I'll just sit here and enjoy my free copy of the HD remake of a 2002 game. So much better.

Now is one of those rare opportunities to grab a relatively well-reviewed PC game for free. From now until the end of the month, a DRM-free Stronghold Crusader HD copy can be downloaded from Amazon for $0. You're required to download Stronghold Kingdoms and link your Amazon account to FireFly Studios (a simple process), but once done, the game is yours. Stronghold Crusader HD was released this past November, although you can't really say you're getting a 2012 game for free as this is just an updated "HD" version of the 2002 game Stronghold Crusader. Still, it gets a very respectable 78/100 Metascore.

The Borderlands 2 Psycho Pack DLC launched last week on Tuesday, and to the horror of some Borderlands 2 fans, it's not included in the Season Pass. Instead, players have to pay an extra $9.99 for the Steam-activated DLC. Fortunately there's a coupon code at GMG that knocks an extra two bucks off the price, bringing it down to $8.

Those waiting to take advantage of a price drop on the basic 8GB Wii U console are in luck today, as Target's dropped the price to a new low of $240. Even after paying around $7 for shipping, you'll still be getting the best deal we've ever seen on the console at a time when all other reputable retailers are charging at least $279. Most are charging $300. Note this is an online price, so in-store pricing may not match. Perhaps Target is looking to drive sales in light of the new Xbox One console release announcement today...

Resident Evil: Revelations finally releases today on PC, and while the preorder bonus no longer applies, Green Man Gaming still has a 20% off coupon that yields a $40 checkout price. So far the title's averaging a 78/100 Metascore, and according to many reviews improves nicely on the overall Resident Evil experience.

Sweet deal. I love the Stronghold franchise. Might not mind a reboot/makeover/new iteration. Would give Total War some competition. I tried Stronghold Extreme and got my butt kicked, gonna need practice.

Ugh I've been on the fence for so long about the Wii U, I really would like it and Monster Hunter. Also the eventual Mario and Zelda titles too but right now its only got Monster Hunter, so if I can wait it out I might get it cheaper... ARGH

I'm gonna add that there is this offer at Bundle Stars, it's 10 games for 5.
- Stellar Impact.
- Unstoppable Gorg
- Twin Sector
- Dead Horde
- Future Wars
- Greed : Black Border
- Grotesque Tactics
- Grotesque Tactics 2
- Trapped Dead
- Trauma

I wouldn't think you'd get it any cheaper than this for years.

Until they announce Metroid Prime 4 or Metroid Dread, even this price is too much. The new Zelda won't be out until the price drops to $200 even if the Wii U was doing good. Looking at all games released or coming soon and all I could find that might interest me was Sonic Lost World and that is a post 1994 Sonic. I'm not getting a Wii on U until I know it's good.
