Tony2077:
between windows 8 and xbox one i wonder if there is something majorly wrong with m$ right now. i will still play on the 360 um maybe someday

Steve Ballmer...
Ever since Gates left the ocmpany it has been going "down" the drain in the overall management department...

"they're opinionated and they're smart"
He must be either really stupid if he truly believes that and then goes on to spout his bullshit or he is a terribly bad liar. In either case he shouldn't represent a big company.

neppakyo:
Still like to see what german authorities will do to the xbone.

I can assure you that nothing is going to happen.
While Germany is probably more conscious than most other countries about data privacy, it is the same in the respect that it's all just talk and that there are no consequences.

Hey guys come on now, this isn't microsoft as a whole, this is one guy...and he is a dick. Seriously u Are meant to sell your new console, not your 8 year old console -.- he should also be wording these a hell of a lot better, hell just keep him from talking if it stops this!

I can see him getting fired really soon...

Though this comes off as super arrogant, I get what he's trying to say. The 360 is a great console, and they're releasing a new one, so they're obviously still intending to support it for some time. Microsoft is really trying to get people to get behind this cloud idea, and though I'm still skeptical, I honestly hope in the end I can go "yeah, I see why they've done this." Their stance might just be too firm, but I understand what they're trying to do here.

Just saw this: made me laugh hahahaha

Yes but it is only a matter of time until they stop making games for the 360 once Xbox one is out!

I think he basically said people should just stick with the 360 because the only thing the one offers is making you be online all the time. Fine by me. Does this guy really not hear himself because everything that's been said since the one's announcement has shunned more and more gamers. At least Sony seems to still give a damn about the consumer (or at least has realised giving us what we want is better for them than pissing us all off).

See, I thought the Xbone was already beginning to win some ground again with it's fairly strong exclusives and the backlash to the backlash... but no Microsofts solution is to be a dick again.

You know what other console doesn't require online access and has the newest games unlike the 360...

Microsoft, I .. ugh.. *sigh*

Why do you guys keep making yourselves hit lower and lower? You'd think they would try promoting the Xbox One or state that they'll at least look into the connection problems but instead they just tell the community to "play the Xbox 360"??

Xbox One has to be the biggest commercial failure in gaming history.

Wait, did M$ just hire Terry Fuckwit to run PR or something? Well you know what Mr Meatdick? i'll just take your advice and not bother with the Xbone. Strangely enough though i'll be buying a PS4 and Wii U to use instead, and you can also kiss goodbye to my Xbox live subscription also mr Meatdick i doubt i'm the only one who thinks this way so keep it up if you actually Want to lose more customers.

Honestly, M$ should just sack this Assclown before he sets the office on fire or gets caught having sex with a parking meter

While I agree with the vast majority of complaints people have, I do find it kind of irksome knowing that despite all of this outrage, a significant proportion of the complainers will still buy one, including the content creators for a lot of gaming sites who are also saying it's a load of crap.

It will be like the L4D2/MW2 boycotts all over again, when loads of people complained, but then their steam profiles showed they bought it anyway:

It looks like Mattrick has been playing too much Borderlands 2. He has adopted the Handsome Jack approach to PR.

Anyway, chalk me up as another 360 user who will be avoiding the xbone.

If you buy an Xbone, you are telling Microsoft that this shit is alright, like the morons that told EA doing this sort of crap with SimCity was fine by buying that abomination. If you buy an Xbone instead of a PS4, WiiU or PC for gaming, expect all the consoles for Gen9 to have the same anti-consumer crap as the Xbone.

One game (per boycott) is different to a whole console. That said, you're right, there are some people who can never take a stand when they say they will.

I for one am not getting one, I just cancelled my Xbox live sub and am done with their company. I will avoid them wherever possible.

wow i thought this was off some fake news site untill i saw the video.

are we sure this is not their failed attempt at humour? trying to do the same as sony with the lending games skit.

o well looks like they have a gun strapped to their shin pointed directly down and find pulling the trigger a fun and interesting way to pass the time

Has a Microsoft exec really just said if you want an offline xbox experience buy the console that has been out for seven years? My God is it the head in sand tatics or the fact that no on one in pr telling them to shut up?

Edit

I do kind want sony to release an instructional video on how to play ps4 games on nuclear sub. In fact at this point they could make an entire series of them at this point :P

You are right of course. Boycotting or not buying a console will have a significantly larger impact considering how expensive they are to make, market and ship. If people are loud and clear then perhaps MS will learn, but to be honest I suspect they will still make enough money in the end for them not to care.

I also have no intention of getting one. I sold off my Xbox 360 a couple of months ago as I started to get sick of MS and their business practices (as well as the general lack of games I cared to play if I am being honest), and like EA I am trying to avoid them wherever I can.

To be honest I haven't liked MS since the start of the current generation, I just stuck with them because my friends played on the Xbox as well, and it was the only platform we all had. But MS's bullshit started to get too much, and the amount of games I played online with friends dwindled, mainly due to me not playing the same kinds, and so I decided to break away from it.

You are an idiot.

For being cautiously optimistic? For having a different opinion?

I think somebody needs to read the Code of Conduct again.

Goddamn, I hope Bitwig comes soon so I can abandon the last Microsoft product I own. Seriously, this guy must have thought he was Sony's or Nintendo's PR, it's hilarious.

This is an epic bite e response... I think Microsoft may just this they can weather this storm and some how ignore ther bad press... god help us they may either be right which is hell for all or they're going to crash and burn like no other.

At this point, Microsoft has moved past digging its hole deeper and is now yelling for people to throw dirt into their hole. O.o

What this guy is saying makes sense, but....why is he saying it?
I just don't know anymore, I pretty much Decided to go full-PC after the first PS4 announcement.

I love how he says he 'empathizes'. When was the last time you were in a submarine you fucking tool? God I hate corporate shills.

So, we should stick with Xbox360, a 7 year old obsolete hardware consoles whose support will melt rapidly after new consoles get released and its support will be dropped soon after.
also remmeber they just released new 360. they want to sell that.

Capcha: top_drawed
nope, Xbone not getting there.

Gabe Yaden:

DugMachine:
The sad thing is the console will still sell relatively well when ignorant dudebros are going to dish out $500 so they can play the next COD and BF4.

Like it or not those so-called dude bros are bringing in piles of money to support your hobby, so perhaps acting like a jackass to them isn't the best course of action.

sure it is and no thier not. they are bringing in piles of money to support their hobby. playing "COD 25" and "sport_title 2014" is not my hobby. if they were, say, bringing piles of money to developers like Paradox, then yes, i can see your argument, now, however, no. and yes, this is subjective, because the whole "dude-bros" thing is subjective.

neppakyo:
So, how many countries did MS tell to fuck off and buy a 360?

Still like to see what german authorities will do to the xbone.

Well lets see. Most of africa, middle east, the slumpoor part of Asia, some parts of south america and half of USA. thats about.

AstylahAthrys:

so basically you are buying it because you are hoping that MS will magically after decades of bad practice actually start doing things better than promised?
im sorry for your upcoming dissapointment.
and you seem to ignore all the reasons for not buying it.

Fiz_The_Toaster:
No no no, that's totally cool.

I can play on another console that won't blatantly fuck me over.

It's called the PS4, and I hear it's pretty cheap.

Zing! That is correct! I'm starting to wonder if this guy's been planted at microsoft by sony or something.

I don't remember where i read it but wasn't there something about Microsoft planing on restructuring and possibly selling the gaming wing of the company?
I think this last few months was the gaming wing leaving a big turd on steve ballmer's desk.

Mr. Adam Orth kinda confuses me; I mean, even when you live in a part of the world where you can go online all the time he must have had some days when the internet wouldn't work; Change of isp and the new isp fucks up for a bit perhaps. Or you move and your isp can't be asked to re connect you. Or you visit someone for a few days who isn't always online and has no W-lan.

At the very least, he would know people who had this happen to them. He must've have known that there are some people who are potential customers but can't be online sometimes.

It confuses me that he wouldn't go the what i will call "steam" route; "You can't sell used games and you need to go online to activate them but in return we will make things more convenient for you!".

If i had a choice between two versions of "GTA 4", one which will "phone home" every 24 hours and one as it was with the ridiculous copy protection software which malfunctioned and was actually harder to get rid off then a virus i would sing the highest of praises to Rockstar and buy the "phone home" edition.

If Microsoft said that they feel the need to protect themselves from piracy and they think the most convenient way to do so is for the console to phone home, Microsoft wouldn't have inspired so much ire.

Even someone so disconnected from the world as adam orth should be able to wrap his brain around the fact that people don't like to have to do anything. Even if it's just connecting to a database for a second.
And i still don't know how save this database is; is it possible that lulsec would hack the thing and make all the games installed on my drive appear to be pirated?

Oh, by the way, i have discovered something that could be useful about the xbone! I deserved a price or something.
Picture this: you watch TV with you xbone (because what else would you do with it? play games? Hah!) you may not have to fiddle for the remote which is buried deep between the cushions of your couch, you can just talk to the kinect to change channels.

If you live alone and have no skype call with a friend who would troll you by constantly changing your channels you could put your remote in a drawer and save money on the batteries. In theory. If the kinect works right at least half of the time and you have no other sources of sound.
In practice characters in the show you're watching will say something that makes the kinect change the channel, starting a funny game :p

Is there something in the water at Microsoft that is making people act like assholes?

So this is their defense of the online once a day thing, smooth...

Wow. This guy is really a fucking soulless git isn't he? Hell, just look at that face. That fake smile with dead eyes, complete with introducing the xbox one like a friend he's not entirely sure will get on with his other friends.

Seriously, the first moment I saw this guy, I wanted to punch him. He literally has one of those faces.

*Rests head on keyboard, groans to himself at the shear stupidity of this whole XBone mess.*

Look, I prefer Sony to MS (the controller doesn't make my hands cramp up after 10 mins,) but I don't think MS handing the entire "Mature" side of the console market over to Sony alone is a good idea.

That's one of the ways you end up with Monopolies, and Sony doesn't have the most stellar records when it comes to those (though not as bad as MS.)

Please MS, pull your head out of your posterior, fire Ballmer and the guys running the XBox division... ..and the Windows and Office... ..also Windows Phone divisions while your at it and get back to making products that people might actually want to buy.

Did this guy live under power lines as a kid or something?

Microsoft just does nooooooooot care, dang. First then, then them basically handing Asia to Sony on a platter (not coming out until 2014 in Korea, and not even a WHIFF of a Japanese release date)... They really don't even care.

Ahh, well - it's a PS4 for me when I finally upgrade.

*blinks*
*watches that interview clip again*

Man, man. If you just want to say "I don't bloody know!" just come out and say it. At least then we'd understand why you're saying all this.

Oh god I didn't think anyone could be this fucking stupid.

That was a huge mistake. Basically telling people that they don't understand how good it is. Plus there was ZERO EMPATHY in Don Mattrik's statement.
Way to loose customers Don...

This is pretty amazing. If Don Mattrick somehow still has his job by the time the Xbone releases, Nintendo and Sony will have won any competition that existed between the three companies.
