Console users can expect an updated blast from the past by the end of this year.
An excellent first-person shooter based on a forgettable movie is going to grace the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 with updated graphics and new content.
According to this source, developer Starbreeze Studios confirmed the news, saying the title will be called Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena.
It will apparently include 40 percent new single-player material in a new setting, melee multiplayer combat, and improved graphics.
The original title, Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay, first debuted on the PC and Xbox in late 2004, winning critical and public acclaim for its visceral combat, impressive inhouse graphics engine, an unlockable commentary mode and growly voice acting supplied by Vin Deisel himself.

The film has a couple of flaws, but it was a great introduction to what could have been an incredible trilogy, probably ending three heads above the suckfest that the Star Wars prequels were.
This review explains, better than I could, why this film doesn't deserve the ratings it got. It's so spot on I'm compelled to save it on my HDD! :D |
