Ubisoft: Console Real-Time Strategy Title to be "Watershed" Game

Ubisoft's upcoming console real-time strategy title, EndWar, will be a "watershed" moment in gaming, the company claims.

Julian Geright, the company's content director, said that console users have not yet experienced a game in the genre that is truly accessible and not transferred from the PC.

"This is the first game of its type and I don't think that games on console will be made the same after EndWar," he said, adding, "It's kind of boastful, but I really do think that this is a watershed type of game."

EndWar is a game in the Tom Clancy series designed for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It will feature voice commands to reduce the click-fest dynamic often found in PC-based real-time strategy games.

The game is due out in October.

In other words, they are competing with Ensemble Studios' goal for Halo Wars.

Honestly, I'd have more faith in Ensemble Studios' track record, since Ubisoft can be a love it or leave it affair when it comes to game design.
