Still, even though Saints Row jumps a kind of GTA bandwagon (seeing the first one reminded me of GTA:SA in its seetings and the characters' looks), at least in my eyes, I don't think adding a pornstar helps a game a lot... Let's open the bets : will she help THQ include a real sex mini-game into the game (some Escapist contributors might finally have what they were looking for -I'm referencing the Escapist issue about eroticism and sex in videogames, but I couldn't look to the issue # again for the life of me right now), or just suggest pimps should have more half-naked hoes when they go shooting nizzles'n'da hood cuz this is how we do it ? (they should hire Snoop Dogg too, don't you think ?) Anyway, I wonder what they're up to... PS : I shouldn't have taken so much time polishing it, I lost the first place... ;p |

Gone Gonzo  Posts: 4297 Joined: 20 Dec 2007    | A gimmick and a publicity stunt but hey I look forward to SR2 not taking itself seriously and throwing whatever Porn Star related stuff is in the game, it looked like she was a playable character and I thought "clearly this can only help the game be more awesome" - unless they overload it with corny sex jokes, and phallic weapons, etc. etc. - but whatever, maybe we can get some other celebrity to work with the game to counter act it, like Samuel L. Jackson, we can add more to the "swearing budget". |

not really. Porn is nothing short of prostitution. Same dynamics. In order to do a job, you need to be qualified to it. If she isn't qualified (and I don't mean she has a degree and shit, I mean she has the necesarry skills and knowledge) she doesn't deserve the job. She is qualified to be a whore/porn actress, so she can go back to that instead. |

Hell if the whole "Mass Effect had greater sales because an in game sex scene was promied" is true, then wouldnt having a rather well known porn star representing your game at a convension filled to the brim with nerds have the same kind of effect? Hell just include a bonus disk with one of her movies on it and I garuntee you sales would skyrocket hehe (wonder what the exact words coming out of the ESRB's mouth would be on that one lol). |

Still, even though its a GTA clone, I liked Saints Row 1 - it didn't try just to copy exactly what GTA did and tried some new things of its own - in short, it was a 'good GTA clone', in my eyes at least. Although the dialog was wincing silly at times. I think they tried to do funny and serious at once with the predicatable outcome of neither working. |

oh i think the job of the producer would be to sell the damn game and you'll find she is quite adept at that.... "degrees and shit" don't sell games.... all that THQ now needs to do is make some sort of announcement to the effect "achievements and secret unlockables include pictures/videos of tera patrick" the game will get an A and sell like such hot cakes that GTA 4 and 2k would hug each other and cry in a corner.... |

Porn Star Joins Saint's Row 2 Team
Adult film star Tera Patrick is serving as a "special producer" for Saint's Row 2.
A post on the Saint's Row site shows a scantily-clad Tera Patrick, star of such underground hits as the Island Fever series, Best of the Breast and personal favorite Hogtied!, sporting a purple bikini while posing with artwork from THQ's Saint's Row 2.
Porn star Patrick will be "bringing her one-of-a-kind touch to the project." She served at THQ's Comic-Con booth meeting with fans and signing Saint's Row 2 merchandise.
More details on Patrick's involvement with development will be unveiled as the game approaches its October 14 launch. For entertainment in the meantime, THQ recommends gamers "see trailers of Tera Patrick's movies, visit www.teratrailers.com."
