On the other hand, they seem to be cutting just about all the ties with the game. EDIT: |

No. They made a bunch of Bleach musicals. I'm surprised they haven't done FF yet. And if there isn't a song named Objection this is not worth it. |

The official Takarazuka news release is here: http://kageki.hankyu.co.jp/news/detail/c97bc548e14f656fecd3e6b08af218a2.html. Eventually there will be a page specifically for the show, but it's still too far out. What you linked to is the wikipedia that a bunch of us English-speaking Takarazuka fans work on. However, we tend to translate and post the news from the official site almost immediately after it is posted. |

And we are very, very grateful to you for bringing us this news. Keep us posted on the musical...I am terribly sad that I won't be able to see it in person, because frankly, it sounds like ten different kinds of awesome. |

Two words and a letter: Hunter x Hunter. That said, Phoenix Wright seems like it would lend itself extremely well to a musical. We're talking an over-the-top adaptation of an existing over-the-top series. The only way it could go further OTT was if it had Gurren Lagann in it. |

It's A Phoenix Wright Musical!
Apparently Phoenix Wright is a good man too, because it looks like he's getting his very own musical!
The announcement was made following a Gyakuten Saiban concert, and while details are sketchy (and largely Japanese, which is a unique hassle all its own) the musical is being put on by the Takarazuka Revue, an all-female group described by the Gyakuten Saiban LiveJournal site as "the top shit of the theater world" in Japan.
According to the post on LiveJournal, the Phoenix Wright musical will be set in the U.S. and will use American character names rather than the original Japanese, and will feature a new "love romance that doesn't exist in the game." The show is being written and directed by Suzuki Kei, and the lead role of Phoenix Wright will be played by Ranju Tomu.
Phoenix Wright: The Musical will open in February 2009 in Takarazuka and will also run in Tokyo in late February and early March. Further updates will presumably be made at the Takarazuka Revue website as they become available.
