These are the people who, back in the day, took the best movie of the time, and made - well, you all know the story. Its good that its back on, but it could lead to something much much worse. Beat Writer Posts: 150 Joined: 7 Nov 2008 | This is the only game on the horizon that I've even felt interest for and that's pretty rare. I'm usually pretty "meh" about new releases. Correct me if I'm wrong but this game is (for the most part) finished. Hell, it's so close to being done that all of the damn Halloween Doritos here have ads for it on the back of the bags. All Atari needs to do is release the damn......sorry my own intelligence stopped me from finishing that sentence. |

I mean, its not like they're raking enough money in every year to buy South Korea. I say South Korea because every man, woman and child in that country loves Blizzard to an extent that could be described as hedonistic and sick. |

No, we don't. http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/87098-Activision-Blocking-Br-tal-Legend-Deal There've been more than a few publishers sniffing around for Brutal Legend, but Activision wants it for its own, apparently. |

Then why did it drop it? So, its not publishing the game, but its not letting anyone else publish it? Thats it, Activision are pure evil. User was banned for: Poll: What is your opinion on the Metal Gear Solid storylines?. (Permanent) |

Now I'm going to suggest something here. I know it'll sound a bit crazy, but hear me out. Perhaps, just maybe, Activision actually wants to publish the game? I know it sounds totally crazy, but, holding on to the title and not letting anyone else pick it up, when they've let other titles go, certainly seems consistent with that plan. And we know they're greedy bastards(*), so that also seems consistent. And maybe, buying out Blizzard filled up their release schedule through 3Q09, hence the dropping of titles, so we should probably expect a holiday 09 release for Brutal Legend. I know, I probably sound like some sort of madman here, an escaped inmate from the asylum, but they laughed at my badger mounted laser cannons too! *: Actually, we only know that they're greedy. Any comments about their parents marital status is pure speculation and/or slander on my part. |

I don't see it. They've had no problems letting go of other titles, including the practically presold Ghostbusters, and the guaranteed fanbase 50 Cent title. They have to have some reason for holding on to Brutal Legend, and we know that they've had no qualms about releasing other titles to other publishers, and that at least a few other publishers are interested in picking up the game. Though now that I've thought on it, it's probably the sor of game that would get lost in the holiday push. Perhaps a high summer release, instead. |

Atari Picks Up Ghostbusters
I ain't afraid of no ghost, but the momentary possibility of the next slick Ghostbusters title falling through the cracks: that was scary.
Ghostbusters: The Video Game was among the Vivendi Games titles Activision Blizzard recently dropped due to their lack of exploitability. After the companies merged, Ghostbusters and several other high-profile titles were canned because they were not seen as capable of raking in the big bucks year after year. Fortunately, the specter slaying action is still on target for release. Today, Atari officially announced it will be publishing Ghostbusters: The Video Game next year just in time for the movie's 25th anniversary.
"Ghostbusters: The Video Game is a fantastic addition to Atari's global line-up in 2009," said Phil Harrison, President of Infogrames Entertainment, Atari's parent company. "The title has built considerable anticipation and excitement among game fans for its high quality action and all-out mayhem. There's no more thrilling Ghostbusting experience to be had, short of building your own proton pack." Hmm...that's not too bad of an idea. A positron collider could come in handy with the house cleaning.
Featuring the voice work and likenesses of Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, and Ernie Hudson, the new story in Ghostbusters takes place two years after the events in the second film. The game is planned for release on the PlayStation 2, Wii, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, and Nintendo DS next year.
