Wait wait wait...
So M$ paying off studios like Square Enix, and RockStar, so they can make Exclusive GAMES into Multi-Platform Titles isn't a 'petty move', but Sony making there 'movies' that they OWN the intelictual rights to, ISN'T?!

Serious, I can taste the Hypocracy in this and I tell ya, it don't taste good at all.

Erm... well the first thing is making it so that a game can be played by more people, and widening the media. This means increased sales for the game companies. Whereas Sony's move has mean't a reduction in how many people can watch the movies, meaning less sales for the film companies and Netflicks themselves.

MS made gaming slightly better and gave you more choice, and get gaming industry more money. Sony are trying to give us less, and making the movie industry make less money!

microsoft have made the industry worse by doing this. the fact is, multiformat games are only as good as the worst system as theyre on, so games like ff13 and gta 4 are only as good as the 360 can handle, and lets face it, the ps3 is superior. fact.exclusive titles mean the games are talored to teh console features, hence mgs4 being one of the best games graphically we'll see for a looong while

Exactly. I can't think of a damn thing that Microsoft could do in retaliation that would actually be legal.

I also meant how Sony made stuff not work for the Xbox.

Yeah, I know, but your the first person in the thread to actually being up how certain consumer laws would keep Microsoft from lashing back in certain ways, hense the praise.

Wait a tick, you're telling me Sony had an opportunity to capitalize on another company's application and they instead chose to deny their product? WHAT? That's not just petty, it's madness!

Ugh

^ That sounds like a perfectly valid, non-biased argument...oh wait. No it's not. We already have air conditioning in this place, we don't need any fans blowing away in here.

Seriously, I'm quite surprised that Sony did this. This hurts Netflix as well as themselves. As someone before me said, they've resorted to kicking each other in the shins. I'd add that their toes are made of glass. If one kicks the other hard enough, we'll be looking at two crippled beings.

are you on crack?
name me one thing microsoft has ever come up with that hasnt been previously done?

Apart from the aforementioned Live?
Hard Drives
Media Streaming
Wireless Controllers (granted Wavebird beats MS here)
In build Voice Comms?

Sony really haven't done anything innovative in a while. They've made alot of optimisations on existing tech however.

Ps2 had a port for a hard Hard drive,
as youve said, wave bird did a wireless ps1 control,
ps2 games had voice com back in august 2002 with games such as Socom US navy seals, whereas xbox live didnt even come out till november of that year.
face it, aside from make gamers pay for a service they can get as good on ps3, microsoft havent done much for gaming. whereas sony and playstation has revolutionised gaming on so many levels

Erm, yeah, my point is the Xbox utilised the techs alot better than Sony ever did. One obscure game with voice comms (vs every console voice capable out of the box). A hard drive port that was on every console, but i never saw the unit on sale, ever. Wavebird was a clunky GameCube controller, by Nintendo.

But you aren't making alot of sense. I'm sorry.

I seriously wish MS would remove Sonys ability to buy Windows licenses.

Honestly, that would be as stupid as what Sony's doing now (or so you say, I say that what they're doing is common sense).

It would be stupid for MS to remove any MS applications on Sony products because then they'd be doing the same thing that Sony's doing with the movie stuff (allegedly).

However, that being said, I say it's common sense for Sony to remove their movies on the 360 platform (and only the 360 platform, PCs and other devices are free from this) since they already have their own video service on the PS3.

I'm just going to flat out assume you've never tried to do any kind of support or actually use a Sony Vaio for any extended amount of time, because if you had, you'd agree with my sentiments.

They make shitty computers.

even if microsoft utilised the techs better, (which is doubtful) sony came out with it first.
The wavebird was a gamcube control, i got mixed up with the names. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=5cOBtMMWteA that youtube vid shows the old ps1 motion control.
it wasnt just that one ps2 game with voice com, but it was the first, and it beat microsoft to it. Everything to do with the xbox is typical of microsoft; copying other companies breakthoughs and marketing it as their own.

Keep on believing that.

Games on hard drives. Voice comms.

Wait, i think i've seen that somewhere before...

Innovation in consoles is pretty much just looking at what the PC has and how to get it onto the Console. Sony nor MS were 'first' in reality. The PC was.

And MS has been best at aping it on the Consoles.

My 360 and PS3 live in harmony too. The controllers even cuddle up together when im finished with them....they spoon! adorable.

Do they really spoon? In my head this looks awkward. Is one on top? Which one is at the back or underneath?

You should get a Wiimote in there. It'll get freaky, put some wahwah over it.
Umm, daddy. Wicca waa waa.
