Felicia Day, the writer and star of web series The Guild and Dr. Horrible's Sing-a-long Blog, gives gamers a tutorial in an important life skill: meeting girls in World of Warcraft.
When she's not filming her MMO-inspired web series The Guild, actress Felicia Day spends her days adventuring Azeroth searching for her true love, like most of us gamers do.
Well, she personally might not engage in that type of dating, but that doesn't stop her from helping those guys who are spending time in World of Warcraft looking for a girl who can quest with the best.
When Asylum asked her for advice to give to men hunting for chicks online, she threw out the common cautionary flag, "Well, most of the female avatars in World of Warcraft are actually guys. So if you're a guy looking to meet girls, you need to make sure to put the person you're interested in through that vetting process."
For the few women who are crazy enough to want to select a mate from the hordes of Horde members online, Day recommends, "Be prepared to fight guys off with a stick because there's a lot more of them than there are female gamers."
She advises everyone to "join a large guild and pair with other people to go on missions. Try and meet people who are on your same level."
"Dudes, don't try picking up digital chicks until you've done some decent workouts such as power-leveling, as no girl wants to be seen with a noob. Yeah, I hate to say that, but if you're a noob you probably won't get a second glance," remarked Day. "Just like in real life when a guy drives a Ferrari, it might not be an automatic thumbs up, but it does catch the eye."
dalek sec: I hate to sound rude but what is exactly the point of this news item?
Well id imagine its coz: Season 2 of the Guild was in a news item the other day; This is a gaming site & theres nothing nerds like more then a relatively attractive member of the opposite sex telling them they may have a hope with 'the Other' after all :-D; Finally, maybe Logan just has a thing for Felicia Day? :-D

"The Other" would be women, those rare creatures with boobs that hit you on the nose with newspapers when you try to talk to them.
Felicia Day just so happens to the an amazing actress and writer who, as dalek so publicly pointed out, has stolen my geek heart and made me want to play WoW just so I could run into her and use her own advice on her.

Oh women! I thought they were just a legend, like earth was in the new battlestar galactica series. I kid though, never got hit with news papers by them, though that could be because I never really did talk to them, too alien for me. Not to sound like a jerk Logan but I'm sure she's had many other's try to use her own advice on her. And again, I'm sorry if I came across as a jerk in my first post here.

Didn't think you were a jerk. Just someone clearly underexposed to the beauty of Felicia Day.
And as my own personal disclaimer, I don't actually have a borderline-stalker love interest in her. I honestly don't sit in the tree outside her bedroom window and sketch drawings of her while she sleeps. Most certainly not.
Sad thing is there probably are some guys taking notes off this but its pretty much common sense. Most female characters are not women is pretty obvious especially to those of us who prefer playing female characters; you wont believe how easy it is to make gold chatting up some level 70 (80 now I guess) in whisper chat and also, rather wierdly, people are more likely to be friends with you even if you tell them your a guy.
On topic: How to find out if a girl is really a girl? Guild teamspeak is the answer although I really would not recomend using WoW to find girls. Teamspeak in itself can be a problem purely because a lot of girls are scared to speak on it as they tend get responses like "holy crap is that a girl?". An example of this is when I was playing Gears of War 1 a while back on co-op story with a randomer that wouldnt speak. We got through 3 chapters before they were virtualy forced to speak (mainly becuase they were way better than me and I needed rescueing all the time). After 3 chapters of me talking to no reply (I could see they had a headset plugged in on the status thingie so I just vocalised warnings etc) I had assumed they didn't had a broken mic or had some intresting crippling vocal problem; was a massive dissapointment to find out it was just a girl afraid to speak in case I was a moron.

But how could you know she has a tree outside her bedroom of the right height to allow you a view through her window if you havent been there to find out?
