IMO the goal of Home is more comparible to WoW than to Second Life. You can surf the internet while your in Home. Basicly you could be typing in this forum while talking over the mics... nothing new to PC gamers, but nothing wrong with it either. When you understand what acheivement points have done for multiplatform sales on 360, but turn those useless numbers into items you can "show off" to your freinds you will hopefully begin to realise the hook of Home.

By this time next year I'm confident the collective aspects of this new interface will have been demonstrated enough for most to understand..... if you never spent 100 hours farming gold for an epic flying mount then maybe you can't get the point of it until you have had an online addiction.

Home's been "just around the corner" so long (resisting Duke Nukem 4 joke) I'll believe it when I see it roll out in something beyond a beta version, and not a moment sooner.

The problem is, you're judging HOME as if it really is a "game". It's not, I assure you, it's just a cool application you can mess around with for a couple of minutes, like making your calculator say naughty words or bouncing a ball at the wall.

Personally, I can't wait for it to come along, but not in the "OMGGAGGAGFD I CAN'TZ WAITASTAS!!#!@#!" sortof excitement. It seems cool to mess around with and explore a bit around.

I guess that makes sense. But, like the calculator analogy, won't it just get boring after, say, 10 minutes or so? I mean, I have a gaming console...to play games. Not 'chill' in my virtual apartment.

Can you install the game or does the disc have to be in the drive? I'm assuming it's the latter of the two, which is odd to me considering that if I want to show off my achievement, or really get a good look at it, I have to exit the game I'm in, put in this non-game, and THEN I can get a good look at it.

Do I have that wrong? I really don't know, but that what it sounds like. And if that the case, it sounds very...silly.

The difference between a calculator and HOME is that HOME is updatable :) It'll get more addons as it goes along, and most if not all of the updates I would assume will be free.

You're missinformed, HOME is not an actual game on a disc, it'll be included in a PS3 firmware update or something. It'll take up around 3GB of space, but you could easily delete it. When you're in HOME, you can jump in with other people and jump into a game. After a round or so, you'll all be transported back to HOME.

While, it does sound a bit clunky (going into a game in HOME and going back to HOME), I think it would be interesting to see how you would pann out tournaments and stuff.

I really don't either. I'll install it when it comes out, but if it never does come out, I wouldn't cry about it. It sounds like a glorified chat room to me, but we'll see.

Except, at least in the Sims you can build skills and empty a bladder every now and again. It really does sound quite a bit like Second Life to me, but I really don't know.
