Seriously though, I'm sure it'll be fun, it'll probably have the brains of a challenged eight year old but then it is Marvel, so what do you expect? *Flame shields up* I'm quite glad that they'll probably keep the X-men series separate from the Avengers linked films. Too many superpowers can spoil the broth (which is exactly why Justice League is going to suck as a film). |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 1409 Joined: 19 Nov 2008 | I saw a trailer a few minutes ago on TV. I'm glad Sabertooth is in this one. It was a mistake killing him in the first movie. |

Same, I'm getting sick of comic based flicks. I bet this movie is going to invoke all kinds of nerd rage. |
News Room Contributor Posts: 7946 Joined: 12 Nov 2002 | I also just read that Sabretooth is going to be played by Liev Schreiber, and will be portrayed as Logan's half-brother - and that they fought together during both World War 2 and Vietnam. Yes, bad things. Many bad things. |

Copy Clerk Posts: 54 Joined: 22 Dec 2008 | The entire thing looks amazing! Gambit and Deadpool = Two people I have wanted to see in one of these movies for awhile. Those two are reason enough for me to see it, but the movie itself does look pretty good. |

New "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" Trailer
Wolverine isn't the only mutant heading to the cinema on May 1 2009 as the new trailer features Gambit, The Blob, Emma Frost and even a baby Storm.
If you're one of the many thousands of comic book fans who skipped over Keanu Reeves' "The Day The Earth Stood Still" and got your Sniktbub trailer fix from a blurry, shaky-cam video on YouTube, I've got some good news for you. IGN's Rotten Tomatoes landed the exclusive "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" trailer, which means you can stop trying to squint out the details and start freaking out because hey, that's totally Emma Frost turning into diamond and this is supposed to take place before everything! Nerd rage!
The film, which stars the sexiest man alive, Hugh Jackman, is the start of a new series of X-Men films intended to tell the story of their long, convoluted origins that are bound to be retroactively altered by the time the movies hit theatres. In the case of Marvel's poster-child for plot armor, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" takes us from his humble beginnings in the late 19th century, his battles in World War 2 (of which Captain America will most likely be missing) and of course, the Weapon-X program where he became the indestructible man-god we know and love today.
Of course, it wouldn't be X-Men without a bunch of mutants and the Wolverine film looks to have a good number of them. From the main villain Sabretooth (who is bound to lose his head at some point) to fan favorites such as Gambit and Deadpool, there are plenty of classic characters to be had. If you look closely enough, you can even spot what looks to be an orphaned Storm, living on the streets.
In other X-Men Origins news, writer David Goyer has confirmed to Superhero Hype that the previously planned Magneto spin-off has been placed on hold in order to gauge the success of the Wolverine film. The origin films are being produced as to satiate the public's lust for Marvel films until we forget about the original X-Men trilogy and we get our Astonishing movie, scripted by Joss Whedon. Hey, a man can dream, right?
