Only the normal FF XIII. |

Please stop your making us look bad.
Ah I miss read the post. But this also makes the 360s live network useless out of the box, unless you have a router close by but even then you will have to buy live. |

You're absolutely right. But I've also heard that WiFi on the PS3 is shoddy sometimes. I know from experience that it can also be shoddy sometimes on the 360 too, though. My point there is that I prefer a hardwire anyways. |

I never had problems with the WiFi from my PS3 after I bought my new and better router. Before that I just used a cable connected to my modem. |

Whats the difference? |

That's good then. I'm still going to have the cable whenever it's possible. But that's still good to know. |

Exactly! I don't want "Blu"-ray, or at least, not yet. And when I do, I'll get an actual Blu-ray player, not console that boils the room (based on the fact it uses more power than the xbox, and my xbox pumps out enough heat to heat my house), to do it. At least with xbox, I had the option of not buying it.
Also exactly - the Wii is for people who don't actually want all the stuff the PS3 has. Its for "casual" gamers, although thats abit of a misnomer for people who just don't want to patch everything, install it, nor have 80% of the "best" games as cutscenes.
Meh, Sony will survive. Playstation is one of their many arms, so even if that implodes, the company will carry on. |

I think its just peoples routers when they complain about wireless connections, or their wireless is a mile away. I have heard story's for both the PS3 and 360 wireless connection being unreliable but for the year and half I have had my PS3, I have never had a problem with it, the same go's for the wireless 360 but I have only had that for a few days so there's still time for it to mess me around. |

The normal FF XIII is a multiplattform game (PS3 and Xbox 360) but there is another game called Final Fantasy Versus XIII (the one I will maybe like) which is a PS3 exclusive (except I missed something). |

The sad thing is that it will work. |

Paperboy Posts: 16 Joined: 17 Oct 2008 | Sony needs to learn that hardcore gamers are looking for good games, not beefy hardware. It's like they were trying to build a computer instead of a console. |

Regulars turn based, Versus is action RPG. User was suspended for: Does New Korean Game Rip Off Team Fortress 2?. (7 days) |
Muckraker Posts: 291 Joined: 3 Jan 2009 | PS3 FTW. but beside my fanboy rage(I own all consoles but this is my favorite) I do think the ps3 is the cheaper than xbox if you play live. The only thing that PS3 is in last place for is not enough exclusive games which is changing drasticly. I also think that the ps3 needs More internet Capabilities and more DLC because microsoft is t-bagging sonys stocks every time a dev says EXCLUSIVE CONTENT FOR XBOX! That is why I have both but no matter what I cant shake my fanboy rage. |

not much of a killer difference if you ask me. Personally I'd choose turn based, maybe I'm just old and take things easy |

Thanks for that explanation. I assume the PS3 version will be more like the last FF in its play style, whilst the multi format one will be the traditional IGUG system? |

Being new to Final Fantasy, I have no idea. All I know is one plays like a turn based game, and one plays like Kingdom Hearts. And theres Agito, but I have no idea what that is anyway. User was suspended for: Does New Korean Game Rip Off Team Fortress 2?. (7 days) |
Beat Writer Posts: 164 Joined: 8 Jan 2009 | *sighs* After reading all of this I figure I might as well throw my hat into the ring but then I realized I don't wear a hat so I figure I'll throw my controller instead. 1: Sony right now is guilty of nothing that other companies haven't done in the past. Yes it is mudslinging and everyone is guilty of it just like the majority of posters in this thread. If you can't take it then grow an extra layer of skin. 2: It's all well and fine to complain about a lack of exclusive titles on the Playstation 3 but if you know how video games are made you realize that the companies that make the games get to ask the big-wigs ((Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony.)) Whether they want the game or not. They are under no obligation to put it simply to one company and to generate more fans of their work and get more revenue they'll more than likely want to put it on more than one console. 3: In my humble opinion from what I seen of the chart Sony is simply mentioning what is available out of the box. We should all also remember that due to people all being different and special... ((Unless you're a clone.)) That we all like different things in our consoles so the people that don't use Wi-Fi are understandably not going to be caring too much about it. The same for the titles that a console has with it. Personally I can't stand the Wiimote and I really don't like having to pay to play online like with Microsoft but I also can't stand the fact that Sony dropped the ball on backwards compatibility. It's called preference and having an opinion and people shouldn't be penalized for it. All the systems are good in their own way: The Wii offers more simple enjoyable games to a larger demographic at a more affordable price but with lower additional options for the gaming enthusist. The 360 offers a middle-ground melting pot of enjoyable games to a somewhat smaller demographic at a somewhat higher price with some more options. The PS3 offers to virtually the same demographic as the 360 but due to the larger amount of options available with it the price is understandably higher. Demanding of a company that they lower the price of their console to make you happy is not a good way to go about things. Thats like demanding an ice cream vendor to put more ice cream in the scoop because you simply want more. The more things that are added into a console and the more goods and services that come with it logically means that the price is going to be higher. At one time I owned a Playstation 3 and I owned a 360. I used to play a Nintendo Wii my roommate owned regularly. I ended up selling my 360 because I didn't want to pay for XBL(A) and at the time Gears of War and Mass Effect were coming to the PC with Bioshock on the horizon for the PS3. As I mentioned before I don't like the Wii's controller and I already own all of the older games so there wasn't really any appeal for the Wii to me. I had a library of PS2 games and I managed to get my claws on a 60GB and I enjoyed it until I unfortunately had to sell it to keep up with bills. I still miss the 360 for some of the games it had and I still sometimes enjoy playing a game or two on the Wii but I miss my PS3 the most. I had fun with all the consoles so simply saying one provides more fun really depends on what I've been trying to mention all along. PREFERENCE! |
Press Junketeer Posts: 458 Joined: 15 Dec 2008 | What I love is people who rush to topics like these to wave their Nintendo flags, because Nintendrones see the current market situation as just desserts for Sony for having the audacity to knock Nintendo off of the mountain top with the PS1. I love it when people make blanket statements like. "The Wii is more fun!", "The Wii has a better online system.", The Wii has a larger install base.", "The Wii has cured several types of cancer and will bring us the advent of intergalactic travel." and so forth. The problem with statements like these is that they are half-truths at best and out and out lies at worst. The Wii isn't all that fun. I mean it's fun for a couple days, but it quickly wears out it's welcome. Of course if you're a 6 year-old pokemon fanatic or an 80 year bowling granny then you're probably running your Wii ragged and haven't turned it off since you purchased it. Wii Online is awful. Anyone who's played SSBB can tell you this as Nintendo measures the success of SSBB in the number of crashed wi-fi matches. Granted Mario Kart Wii had slightly better online, but it was still no stranger to the mid-race wi-fi crash. At this point I had given up on the Wii so I really don't have any other examples. Yah, the Wii may have a larger install base. Aiming for people who don't play games seems like a nose-pickingly idiotic idea on paper, but for some reason people who hate gaming keep buying the Wii in droves. Funny thing about the Wii is, that aside from your hardcore Nintendo supporters most Wii owners only have purchased Wii Play and Wii Fit. So what's the point of cashing in thousands of systems when you're not selling any games. Unless you're plan was to point at the NPD numbers and do a little dance because you think it justifies your position when it just tells actual gamers who you kicked in the teeth at E3 that you're doing it wrong. PS3 is not without it's problems. Yah, it needs more exclusives. And I think that's kind of sad because I was kind of hoping we could get to a point in gaming where Microsoft and Sony would be able to exchange a good portion of their games to each other, but I guess that defeats the point of competition. I'm not an economist, mind you, but I guess I just have a utopian vision where all gamers can play games in harmony without all this silly console bravado, but then all you fanboys would have to find something new to bitch about. |

They compare the cheapest SKUs from both the Xbox 360 and the PS3. Anyways, I think that Microsoft got it correct when they realised that not all consumers want everything in the console, and that, by packaging them separately, they make their console cheaper and more accessible to the market. |

Ah, I see. Thank you for clearing that up for me ;) |
Beat Writer Posts: 152 Joined: 27 Oct 2008 | As long as PS3 and 360 exist the two consoles have to constantly compete against each other for the public's money. This means that the two companies will always try to out do each other by creating better consoles, better hardware, better exclusives, so on and so forth. Competition causes evolution. So who ultimately wins? The consumer. So to all the people who wish downfall upon the system they do not own, please take a course in economics. |

Oh, I believe there is room for all three systems. I just get annoyed at the constantly regurgitated nonsense of people who think that Nintendo should control 100% of the market. PS3 and 360 should be fighting over the real gamers dollar, Nintendo should go after the kiddie crowd and PCs should continue be a viable alternative to the console wars. |

so you never bought a dvd player because you never owned a dvd player? that's a stupid reason because i'm sure once you got a dvd player you also got dvds as well, so if you had a blu-ray player you'd get blu-ray movies
yup once again it's "omg evil sony look at what horrible stuff they're doing" when everyone else has done the same thing in the past |
On the Record Posts: 5360 Joined: 10 Mar 2008 | While I see Sony's point in the whole buying more addons and stuff and the whole "bang for your buck" thing, after all the PS3 does come packed with generally more features than what you have to buy with the 360 to get the "full experience", I'll just say it; Please show a little humility Sony! I love ya, I know, but could you keep your mouth shut a bit? Please and thankyou? |

MGS4 is a great movie! But seriously , what is it with people saying that the PS3 had no games, I mean common , it has plenty. There are more great exclusives on PS3 than you can afford anyway. |

You said it right there. I think Sony are just aiming their console at a too small audience (the big rich fatcats that love big, new, shiny things mostly) and relied on the popularity of the PS2 to sell it for them. |
Muckraker Posts: 291 Joined: 18 Mar 2008 |
No, well personally, I have never purchased a DVD player nor have had any reason to do so. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 4204 Joined: 20 Dec 2007 | I don't get it guys, they are talking about price-tag comparison and they aren't too far off, and this whole "witch one is better" shit should stay in the original post, if you want to act all holier than thou then stick to it and don't fan the flames that original post sparked. All you have to do to make a product not seem good is to downplay it. "OMG BLU-RAY IS USELESS! I don't even see the difference! A DVD is just fine." "PS3 DOESN'T COME WITH THE 10 DOLLAR HD CABLES YOU CAN BUY AT FRYS OR BEST BUY! Sony is SHIT" "No backwards compatability! (this applies to both)" "At least I pay for QUALITY with Xbox Live! hurr fucking hurr" "I know someone who doesn't like this system, and prefers the other system, therefore, that system is better." Obviously, no one gives a shit unless it's a pissing contest like this one. Hell, I know people who have spent 400-500 dollars on xbox's, so it's really the arcade's price tag that makes the xbox look like it's "super duper cheap!" -and remember, calling someone a fanboy before they call you one still makes you a fanboy. |

Um... excuse me but it seems to me as if you're fanning the flames of some of the posts on here. Isn't that specifically what you're asking the rest of us not to do? Just pointing it out thats all. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 4204 Joined: 20 Dec 2007 | and then you twist my words when I try to put the flames out. Thanks bud. I'll just see myself out while everything is on fire. I know when I'm not wanted. |

Ok. I'm saying if he's gonna bitch about fanboys, he should stop being one himself.
