Release Day Deals: Enemy Within, Injustice, Cities of Tomorrow

PS4 news is everywhere as we approach release day. But don't forget about all these titles coming out this week.

It's been a year and a month since the October 2012 hit release XCOM: Enemy Unknown. That's been so long in the gaming universe, 2K Games already released a prequel spin-off XCOM Declassified: The Bureau in August of this year (from a different developer). While The Bureau had a lackluster release, XCOM: Enemy Unknown isn't done yet, a whole new expansion pack XCOM: Enemy Within was released today.

On the Xbox 360 and PS3 XCOM: Enemy Within is a stand alone expansion and priced at $39.99. Fortunately, we found a coupon dropping the price to $33.99. For the PC you need the Enemy Unknown base game, but the price is reduced to $29.99 - or better yet at GameFly you can use a coupon to get the price down to $23.99.

Other release day deals include the first (and probably not last) expansion - SimCity: Cities of Tomorrow. If you weren't permanently jaded by the SimCity's installment launch issues earlier this year, Cities of Tomorrow gives you a plethora of new buildings and designs, set 50 years into the future. Accessing these new regions, tech, city specialization and transportation methods will only set you back for $24 through Gamefly's deal (elsewhere $30).

PC gamers waiting for the DC universe based fighting game, Injustice: Gods Among Us, will finally get their chance this week with the relatively well-received "Ultimate Edition". This new edition bundles all previously released DLC & characters in Injustice for only $40 after coupon (Steam activated title).

Lastly, GameFly launched their November Blowout Used Games Sale today. Dozens of titles are under $15 and have free shipping. This includes Defiance on the X360 and PS3 for only $6.99, Crysis 3 $8.99, Tomb Raider $9.99, and many more.

Temped by Enemy Within but after dealing with all the bugs the last xcom launched with I'm not sure about getting it. Anyone know if this release has any issues so far? Also how long does that 20% deal last?

That coupon last through the month (though its publisher dependent sometimes - eg if they want retailer to stop offering discount, retailer has no choice)

Since we're so close to the holidays and you're on the fence, you might as well wait because it'll only get cheaper. I'm guessing it'll drop to around $15.99 by years end during one winter sale or another.

Hope that helps!

So I am still confused with Enemy Within. For consoles is it Enemy Unknown and the expansion content rolled into one or is it like most other Expansions and is a separate entity from the base game and both are still two separate packages?
I keep getting different answers to this.

Enemy Within on consoles includes the base game and the new content, which does mean that console owners of EU are looking at buying a new game which is essentially Enemy Unknown: Extended Edition. Like buying a movie on DVD or Blu-Ray then buying a director's cut some way down the line.

Apparently it was too big to do as just console DLC, which given that the pc 'patch' is about 4GB isn't hard to believe.

The Vita deal no longer works unfortunately. Radioshack is out of stock. I suppose they might resupply before the offer passes though.

Not sure about consoles, but on PC it is a standalone expansion.
