Color me unsurprised. It's not complicated: Get Gun + Kill Parents = You're Guilty. It doesn't matter if you're "feeling bad" or "falling down drunk," you don't get off the hook for that. It makes me sick that lawyers tried to blame a Halo 3 addiction... when he was yet to play it. And I culdn't even imagine any reason to kill/attempt to kill your parents. We have a winner! There has been some crazy video game related stuff happen in places besides America. Stories of Korean gamers that play StarCraft or some MMO until they died of exhaustion come up every now and then. I remember one story where a Korean couple were arrested for neglecting their baby, who died because they left him at home alone and went to play WoW all day at an Internet cafe. I remember one Chinese guy who died after playing online games for over 30 hours without any breaks for food or rest. If anything, weird and tragic game-related crimes/incidents happen just as much in Asia (Primarily Korea, China, and Japan).
*Notice: I'm talking strictly from game-related incidents here, and will not count stuff like Columbine. I don't care what the media tries to say, those little Hitler-worshiping neo-fascists didn't get the idea to kill a bunch of people over Doom, they did it because they were seriously, seriously fucked up. Even still, stuff like this happens EVERYWHERE, not strictly America. It isn't like bad shootings are unheard of in other countries.
Besides, South Africa takes the cake when it comes to pointless violence, from a per capita perspective.
