Don't Miss The March Mayhem 2014 Developers Poll

Don't Miss The March Mayhem 2014 Developers Poll

350 px March Mayhem Poll Image

You have until February 10th when the polls close and the contestants are set for March Mayhem 2014.

Only three days left until the polls close and the contestants are set for March Mayhem 2014. We don't want to leave anyone behind in our first March Mayhem developer poll so make sure to get in there before it's too late. We've put the choices in your hands this year. Previously we head right into March Mayhem, but this year we wanted your opinion. Why put the whole shebang in the hands of the community? That's because we have such an informed community that we want you, the people, make your opinion known about where the developers should be seeded.

To help make the developer pool more inclusive we have divided them up between two different groups, the AAA developers and the Indie developers. The top eight from each pool will proceed to March Mayhem where you can choose first build your bracket of predictions, then vote on each round up to the big winner. Some of the past winners have been major development studios, some small, but this year we'd like to see how major AAA developers stand up to some of the most talented tiny Indie developers around. There are even a couple developers in the Indie pool that aren't companies or studios, but just one person that created their game from nothing. We'd like to give these people the chance to be seen and their fans heard.

Make sure to get into the polls before they close on Monday, February 10th at 11:59pm.

Ask here, they are probably going to get a large influx of requests for the MM logo, so best ask early.

Wonder who I will vote for...I didn't play all that many games last year.

I'll vote for Arkane (Dishonored) and Subset (FTL). Or, I would, if either were on the polls.

Ugh...what's the point anymore :(

I don't know if everyone is terrible at reading instructions or if DOTA2 is THAT spectacular of a game but every year, Valve seems to kick the hell out of the board because they're Valve.

I hope I'm wrong but if the early polls are any indication, this is going to be another one of THOSE years...

There are instructions? Where are they?

There right...over.......there?

Huh...

Well played internet citizen.

Why isn't that listed on the voting sheets? We ARE supposed to be voting for who did the best year to year, correct? Maybe that's why Valve keeps slaughtering; people who haven't been around don't realize that it's supposed to be year to year, NOT overall.

Or am I mistaken in that?

It doesn't surprise me, the people here are more PC centric, hardly give a toss about consoles but are more inclined to loving everything Valve touches, thus the vote is the same every year and nothing changes, same proclaimed love, same shitting on the losers.

Only difference this time is now TellTale on the other poll is going to win this by a landslide because most here love the hell out The Walking dead game and nothing else apparently compares, not even the other choices that deserve just as much a chance but "lol TT games ftw" as it'l go.

Not mistaken at all. However, unless those words will flash on everyone's screen before they can vote many people will be mistaken, and vote for the Half-Life 2 and Portal developer.

Except, and correct me if I'm wrong, but during voting it lists ALL the games each developer has ever developed.

Why would the Escapist show this info, if they wanted voters to ignore the games they've developed in previous years?

Good point, but the developers are qualified to enter the competition only if they released a game that year; therefore the game that dev released that year should be the most important factor in deciding the winner.

I'm looking forward to seeing some of the massive AAA developers go up against some very talented Indies. Just look at the success of Papers Please, who mopped the floor against some pretty formidable opponents.

It'll get interesting (it always is :D). Valve will wipe the floor against everyone it faces until a later round. The backlash will then occur and people will fight tooth and nail to get Valve taken out (hopefully WITHOUT recruiting 4Chan this time...so much porn....the horror.....the horror....). In the words of the greatest actor known to man:

Either way, I shall sit here with my popcorn and laugh as many people take this way too seriously :D

It's interesting that youve split this into the arbitrary definitions of AAA Developers and Indies.

Although I do love me some Valve games (Woo TF2) I'm really hoping we'll have someone from out of left field like Mojang or Papers Please to give them at least a decent run for their money here.
