Dark Souls II Drops $10 for PC's Release

PC Gamers can finally enjoy dying countless times in higher resolution and textures. Yay?

The snow has melted, the birds are chirping, and the seasonal PC gaming sales are commencing. Ahead of Valve's Steam Store and others, this week Green Man Gaming launched their "7 Days of Deals" PC Game Spring Sale. They're offering discounts as high as 75% instantly, and on top of that, there's a 20% off coupon code for additional savings.

Each day Green Man is posting a new wave of discounts. Each wave will last for 48 hours. Yesterday's deals were quite impressive and include $6 Tomb Raider GOTY and $8 Batman Arkham Origins. While prices listed below are all in USD, the same coupon and a similar percentage discount applies in the UK and the rest of Europe.

Dark Souls II is excluded from the seasonal sale but still commands a sizable discount. This week the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions got a $10 instant discount at Best Buy, dropping the price tag from $59.99 to $49.99. Next week Friday, the game will make its debut on PC, where you'll find a similar $10 off discount after coupon at GMG.

if DS is ever released on PC. been moved to 2nd of May here

Too rich for my blood, especially after the miserable state the original Dark Souls was released in (And still is).

Thief on the other hand, now that looks pretty tempting at 20.

Mr Ink 5000:

Only for physical edition in the UK.

First time in years I shell out for a collectors edition and it bites me in the ass, typical really.

Eh DS2 failed to deliver their promise to the PC so I have little hopes the game wont be a buggy mess like the first one. I'll wait for the $5 sale again.

Already picked up DSII on sale at 25% off along with a 10 dollar credit, got it at half price including taxes. Now if only I could pre-load it.

Please, how has it failed in it's PC release since it hasn't even been released yet? And there are quite a few forum topics on this already; if you're not buying it because it doesn't look as pretty as the preview builds did, the only one that's losing out is you.

It looks like my year is going to be dominated by Souls games. I finally really got into Dark Souls this year and finally beat it. Then I finished NG+. The entire time I was doing that I was watching LPs and lore videos (ENB, Prepare to Cry, and Crate & Crowbar's LP) on Youtube. I've now gone back to Demon's Souls on my PS3.

I'll definitely be picking up DSII before the end of the year. I think I've learned enough about the games to go in completely blind this time, so I expect my time spent in DSII will be long.

Actually I am not losing out at all. I'm buying it at a later date for a much more cost effective method. You will pay 4x the amount I did for the same experience out of impatience and fanboyism. It puts a smile on my face to know you were so insecure that you had to call out my buying habits to validate your own. :)

You're waiting for it to go on sale for literally 1/10 of it's original asking price. I got it for 50% of the asking price and pretty sure that's a fair amount for the game it is. Hell, the full asking price is a fair amount to ask for it if you ask me. By the time it hits $5 dollars, it'll be at least a year since it's release. The base will still be around but not really as robust as it will be close to release. And I'm not calling out your buying habits, I just asked WHY you were waiting. I still think you're missing out on it just because you're being cheap about it is all.

Not being cheap but I am pacing my gaming habits. Sadly the older I get the less time I have to game and I already have over a hundred great games I need to play that I already purchased. Steam was nice enough to confirm it in an article that I am not alone in this.

I have the luxury to wait for games to be cheap. I find it a waste of money to buy a game at retail price and then not play it for a year when its 1/10th the price as you put it.

I'm gonna buy the Collector's Edition so sadly no discount for me.

I've heard that you could get the game for 20$ if you used the "credits" that you get from playing other games with a GMG account. You have to use a software similar to Raptr, but buying the game at half price is indeed worth it.

Ah, alright I understand. I apologize, I didn't mean you being "cheap" as an insult, I can be very cheap myself at times.

its a pre-order bonus. early abuse from From

So I bought Sleeping Dogs 2 days ago and I have to say the controls are just pure shit.
The controls will randomly lag, especially in combat making the game nigh unplayable. Wasted $4.
If the controls weren't this bad, the game would be like a GTA done right. Too bad they fucked it up this badly.
