Disney Princesses as Avatar: The Last Airbender Characters

disney-avatar 350

Disney princesses, villains, and more join the world of Avatar: The Last Airbender in this collection of fan art.

Fire Lord Maleficent. Waterbender Elsa. Mulan of the Kyoshi Warriors. For over a year, artist Robby Cook has placed the familiar faces from the Disney universe into the world of Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra. Check out his tumblr for more of his work and insight into how he chose which roles to place the Disney characters into. You can also visit his Facebook page here.

It's a diverse collection from Disney, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and The Legend of Korra. Airbender Pocahontas and Princess Aurora of the Northern Water Tribe are joined by Jafar as the Head of the Dai Li and Jessica Rabbit as Asami Sato. Even Snow White is accompanied by the seven, earthbending dwarves. Check out the gallery below for all twenty of Cook's interpretations of some of your favorite Disney characters in the world of Aang and Korra.

Also, fans of Legend of Korra should check out our review of the Book Three premiere. The new episode airs this Friday at 8 pm on Nickelodeon.

Just because he chose to do crossover fanart of a shows I liked (mainly toward The Last Airbender than The Legend of Korra) doesn't mean I starting to liked the Disney Princesses fanart.

Seriously ENOUGH of the Disney Princesses crossover fanarts!!

What's next? Disney Princesses with Tron, Breaking Bad or even Attack on Titans???

Huh I rather like that Jessica rabbit isn't a bender.

This kind of stuff is starting to get played out to me. I mean it was cool the first hundred or so times but I'm starting to lose interest in seeing Game of Thrones characters/Disney Princesses/Nintendo Characters/Superheroes as kitchen appliances/tennis rackets/horses.

Well, I think it's official, the Escapist staff is doing all of this as a massive troll. The more everyone asks for less, the more they go out of their way to find even more!

image Yeah im a jerk.

OT: Some of the pictures look pretty cool while the others are pretty meh. But whats with all the Disney fanart lately?

I'm pretty sure this is actually the case. I'm mostly fine with it if it is the case.

mostly

Now all we need is a crossover of Disney Princesses and The Escapist staff. :P

Cynical though it may be: slideshows that refresh the page every time you scroll produce more ad views - a two page text article takes ten times as much effort to produce compared to a 10 picture slideshow that produces five times as many page views.

Plus if someone writes an article they usually expect to get paid, as opposed to image slideshows where the artist is compensated with links rather than dollars.

How about Disney princesses reimagined as Disney princesses? I bet noone's thought about that one before!

I'm getting tired of these Disney Princess as X mashups. Come on people, there's more stuff out there. Like that batshit insane Transformers Meets Evangelion which is apparently real.

Okay, I'm apparently the only person here who actually enjoyed these pictures. I liked figuring out who each character was supposed to be. The only two I don't know are Jasmin and Esmeralda. I take it they're just random Fire Benders, or am I forgetting someone?
Also, where was Ty Lee?

Girlfriend and I are quite fond of both the Avatar series as well as Disney movies. It's quite entertaining overall.

I mean, I really liked them. And yeah, they are just firebender versions of the characters.

I didn't expect the Jessica Rabbit.

Why does the tangled girl have fire bending? That seems like the worse possible power to have when you have such long hair.

I just don't get this "Disney Princesses" thing but at least this one said "And other characters".

Also that Jessica Rabbit one looks pretty cool, except for the slighlty flat boob and the weird leg position.

I don't think the thing is people don't like these, as much as "MORE PRINCESS STUFF BECAUSE VIEWS" thing, I mean I've seen several of these and I haven't paid attention for more than a week or so, and considering how this is a... "geek" (I lack knowledge for better fitting word) site, there could be fanart of something else.

I think you have a point there. Good examples of fanart can be appreciated. Heck, they could even make a new category similar to the cosplay topic. It's just that it seems like the only fanart ever posted is that of Disney princesses. If they could maybe branch out a bit and look at things other than Disney, maybe they'd have something. I mean, there's thousands of video games, movies, and TV shows out there; there's bound to be decent fanart of one of them.

Guys... there have been a grand total of four Disney princess fanart mashups (1, 2, 3, 4) in a time period of eight months, the last one being almost 3 months ago. That's not exactly saturation point.

Very nice, probably my favourite of the Disney Princess galleries so far. I'm having a hard time picking a favourite, although the White Lotus one is very clever.

I'm counting this one.

Whether anyone thinks we've hit a saturation point of Disney Princess fan art news or not, nothing is really stopping news posts from highlighting fan art of other things (which I'd like to see more of).

Dude, I could totally imagine Mulan as Belle, who's apparently Pocahontas in this situation...

OT: So... Why WAS Pocahontas frozen for 100 years again?

Also, Kida makes a better Korra than Korra...

I wonder why the Disney princesses crossovers get so much attention? I found some incredibly talented Adventure Time crossover screen background artwork but I don't see it getting an article in the Escapist or the Nerdist. I have to have this tiny sneaking suspicion that I wonder whether all these Disney princesses crossovers are secretly commissioned by the Disney Corporation, so that everybody's favorite favorite thing regardless of what it is (I'm still waiting to see Disney princesses as Firefly Brownshirts and Disney princesses on Battlestar Galactica or even Farscape for that matter but that's all old hat stuff now, isn't it? It's always topical, these Disney princesses crossovers, aren't they, how convenient that it's something topical that ends up in Escapist articles, isn't it?) will always bring up thoughts of Disney and Disney princesses no matter what the fandom is. It's almost as if the Disney Corporation has found out how to succeed where NAZI Germany and Soviet Communism failed in worming its way into the minds of the people permanently and thoroughly. Just make yourself part of everything that everyone else thinks is good and no one will ever forget you or think you are anything but good, and you will reap billions of dollars in profit and cultural and political influence forever and ever, amen. I'm probably wrong, but I can't help getting this sneaking suspicion that I may be right.

Dang, this is quite impressive. I don't care what anyone says, I like these mash-ups...

...Though I will admit they're a bit overexposed...

Some of these are interesting.

But Jafar as an earth bender? I thought he would be a fire bender.

Sigh.

ANOTHER Disney mash-up article.

I remember when the Escapist focused on video games. But now they're spreading out, it is covering it less and less. With the forum getting more and more toxic, the reasons to keep coming here are: Zero Punctuation and Jimquisition.

Which come onto YouTube.

You know what? Barring a monthly visit, I'm done with this website.

I can never make it th these galleries because the image viewer is so bad with my slow Internet. Please get a decent image gallery viewer thingie escapist.

I jumped on here to go HAAARRGGGHHHHH NOT AGAIN, but I see everyone's already beat me to it. I suppose the only thing to do now is reimagine Yahtzee as a disney princess.

i don't find these one's as irritating as the "grim-dark"/"gritty" ones.

I guess I'm the only person who doesn't mind X meets Y artwork.

Why not take it "one" step further? Every Escapist Content Contributor as Disney Princess re-imagined as video game characters represented as famous historical figures!

I seem to only mind it if they're done poorly... Otherwise, I don't care enough to get tired of seeing them in general...

I imagine when they stop getting page hits, they'll stop doing these.

But then, this is the first "Disney Princess Reimagining" I cared enough to look at, so what do I know?

Yahtzee should be reimagined as an MLP FIM character. Screw it, so should all the major personalities of the site.

Most people seem to only be bothered that it's done so frequently. I like cake, but I wouldn't want it with every meal.

Groxnax:
Some of these are interesting.

But Jafar as an earth bender? I thought he would be a fire bender.

I'm pretty sure he's supposed to be standing in for Long Feng in that picture. Considering they're both very conniving and manipulative villains, I think it works.

Kind of funny cuz my two oldest kids watch the avatar series (and korra) on DVD pretty much daily. So my youngest daughter (4 1/2 at the time) when we saw Frozen asked when the other 'benders' were going to show up. So I'm going to show her these see how she reacts.
