There are many a game out today that have boss fights that last too long for my liking. Some it isn't just the length but the story behind it or the bosses words. As well as the occasional fight that sucks just because of the difficulty (whether too easy or too hard). My least favorite boss fight is Loatheb in World of Warcraft, not only is he lengthy and lacks an enrage timer, the spores get to the tanks if the DPS is retarded, and the fact that he can hit like a truck, you have a very small healing window that happens every twenty seconds, resulting in many wipes to an inexperienced group. While I know the fight well, the PuGs that I get stuck with usually don't. What is your least favorite boss fight?

Any late Gym Leader in a pokemon game. STOP USING FULL RESTORES, YOU BASTARD! /rage.

The spider in FF8(and is share your pain on the WoW boss thing, many of the raid instance bosses are a true pain) but in his stage where your not technically suppose to kill him, you still can technically but it constantly heals himself, i just like killing him down for the fun of it.

In the world ends with you the noise form of Hanekoma in pork city on extreme difficulty is really fast and can kill you in like four hits.

The final boss battle in Ratchet and Clank: Up your Arsenal comes to mind. Dr. Nefarious snipes you while his minions waste your ammo.

The 3rd part of Majora's masks final boss battle. Where he grows those tentacle out and whips the garbage out of you, and stun locks you to the ground.

The bat boss in Link to the Past.

You don't see it coming, and he's on this tiny floor comprised entirely of treadmills and moving spikes...

Lloyd in FE6 Eliwoods Tale Hard... STOP GETTING CRITICALS YOU SONNAVABITCH!

The Magimaster from FF6 at the top of the tower of magic. FUCK!!! That guy was a complete piss off if you didn't know what to do or what was in store for you when you beat him. If you beat him he casts ultima, the ultimate FUCK YOU move that kills your entire party (casts 9999 dmg) forcing you to start over. The only way to win if to first cast berserk on him you you can actually attack him and then spend FOREVER draining his magic...and he has a shit ton. Gotta drain it to the point where he cant cast ultima so you can kill him, or drain his MP entirely and then he dies. It can take over and hour to beat him...it's just so damn evil.

Ultimecia in FF8 simply for the when-will-this-boss-fight-just-END factor. Sephiroth from FF7 for the sheer disappointment factor - after being built up as an unstoppable bad guy for the entire game, he was way too easy to defeat.

Loatheb is annoying, but if you time your heals properly, the Necrotic Aura is more an inconvenience than anything else. Also in WoW: Heigan the Unclean, especially when people muck up the dance and you're down from 10 to 3 (even more so if it happens on the first dance cycle - ARGH!). But yeah, you could post just about every WoW raid boss from Zul'Gurub all the way through to Malygos on this list for one reason or another.

that one boss from kill zone 2 right at the end of the game, that boss was annoying from all the enenmies u had to kill just to get to him and the 4 rocket launchers just to be compltely rofl stomped by his little knife tellport thingy

M. Bison in Street Fighter 2. RAPE-A-THON!

All boss fights in Final Fantasy Tactics. Stop being such fucking bitches with your omgwtfpwnage abilities. -_-

I have absolutely no idea what most of that jargon means. Weird.
Anyway, the second week-end boss from The World Ends With You was impossible to beat for me.

The final boss in Daxter. In fact, any boss in Daxter. Too damn hard.

And not technically, it wasn't a boss, but an end mission, so i'm not sure if it counts.
But everyone remember the Final mission for Los Carnales in Saints Row? let me describe it for those who haven't played it. In the previous mission, you've chased Angelo, LC gang leader, from his house, and he's now trying to get away by plane and rebuild.

You and Dex, the lieutenent in charge of wiping out LC's, Drive to the Airport in hopes of stopping him. once you get there, you ride shotgun to take out the plane. It takes 6 tries to find all the RPG guards(yes, you are traveling through an airyard, shooting at a plane while your sports car is being bombarded with RPG's.) 5 more to get through the guards to the plane, and 2 more to take out the plane.

Altorin:
The bat boss in Link to the Past.

That boss was such bull. Must have spent a fortune in rupees getting killed, respawning outside, running off to the witch's shop to buy Blue Potion, scurrying back to the boss room and dying AGAIN, to repeat the cycle from the start. The bat itself is not even that difficult, it's the room that makes it challenging.

I have to go with Dr. Wily at the end of Mega Man 7. Maybe it was just because I was too young to adequately recognize pattens, but I simply could not find a way around those attacks of his that hit you for, like, 30% of your health bar. I could score hits on him no problem, but since I had literally no way to dodge, it was always just a matter of time before I ran out of E-Tanks and was killed.

I was thinking of playing Metroid Prime 2, but then I remembered all the things I hate about the game. Specifically, the Boost Guardian.

The Boost Guardian is one of the most frustrating enemies I have ever fought in a game. The boss itself is not hard, it's just that you have to fight the boss in an area filled with poisonous air that slowly kills you. It takes to damn long to kill the boss so you can die easily. Poisonous air is frustrating enough, but then you make me fight a boss in it? Even with all the energy tanks you can get up til that point that boss is still a bitch.

Also, despite being a sub-boss, the Boost Guardian is harder than almost all of the other bosses in the game

EDIT: Oh yeah, then there's the Spider Guardian, which is also incredibly annoying.

Lloyd in FE6 Eliwoods Tale Hard... STOP GETTING CRITICALS YOU SONNAVABITCH!

This was hard, but I found Lucuis(in the later chapter with the brothers) harder, because you can't get a critical on him, and he has the light brand, which renders your ranged people next to useless. Luckily I had good casters. The Dragon and Nergal fights were both hard on Hector's and Eliwood's hard mode too.

Hmm... mostly Zelda but here's my list (in no particular order):
Ghot (MM)
Twinmold (MM)
W/e the fish boss was in Majora's Mask
Wizrobes (OoT) They were sub-bosses but still...
The Ikana Castle boss (MM) (the one who throws his head... OMG)
Majora's Mask third and fourth forms (w/o Fierce Diety)
Bongo Bongo (OoT) ... not hard, but annoying... all the bouncing...
Dark Link (OoT) ... How does he manage to jump ONTO your sword???
Adult Water Temple boss (OoT)
The Dragon in Death Mountain Temple (OoT)

and from non-Zelda games:
The Kraken from God of War
The giant armored Minotaur in God of War
In RE5 the tentacle boss you had to kill w/ the laser beam
RE4 Salazar's Right Hand ("You're right hand comes off?" Ha ha witty quip)

There's a lot more but that's all I'll list

Most annoying boss fight? Not having one after you've built up and amazing story.

inFamous. The boss fight itself isn't hard, but Kessler just has so much health. On Hard difficulty it just becomes tedious and your fingers start to hurt from constant dodge, attack, lather, repeat-style combat.

Spiritual Queen Larsa. never actually had the priviledge of beating her. keep in mind the purple things are ENEMY BULLETS!

the secon to last boss in kingdom harts 2 god he just warped u and raped u it took me at least 100 times but the prise gos to the guy with 1 bad wing and 1 good wing and a samari sored the was so long he cood hit the moon or the pantom at the clock tower who has theis attack that kills u in 60 secs and u hafe to keep hiting the clock but that just resets the time

Darth Malak.
Turns out at the battle, NONE OF MY FORCE POWERS DRAINED THE CORPSES, so I had to fight the guy 20 times so he could use em up himself.

all boss fights before recently have been trumped by Elizabeth Green from prototype. If you're not familiar with it, it's this giant biomass worm thing that's stationary in the middle of time square.

To start off, it's completely surrounded by infected, your standard "Larger, tough to beat" enemies AND the military. It will shoot projectiles at you if you're far away, which can manifest as either a large damage bile attack or machine gun fire of rocks. If you get too close to it it will hit you with its tentacle things. To as much as damage it you have to run up to it and kill two tentacle things and the big stock supporting its body, which have a good amount of health on their own, so it will fall down. Then you actually start damaging Green, which provided you don't get interrupted by any of the enemies you can get about a 6th of her health down before she gets back up and you have to repeat the whole process.

But the worst part is she has a 1 hit kill large radius attack which is used very liberally, and decimates two whole city blocks to every direction, which travels about as fast as you can run and offers the only warning as time slowing down for a split second, and while you're running from it she's shooting her machine gun rocks at you, which make you trip and get killed by the explosion thing. There's also NO checkpoints whatsoever while fighting this boss. So if you die, and you will, you have to start all over.

Final Boss in Persona 3: he has about 11 formss, and you have to fight all back-to-back, harder as it goes.

The final boss from Fable: The Lost Chapters. Easy as all hell. However, when doing a mage only game, it is horribly time consuming as even the most powerful magic attacks do piss-all damage, even infernal wrath thingy (glyph on gound which shoot beams of red light into air)

There's a boss in Kamo: Elements of Power than can shoot electricity at you. He's in the water and surrounding are is filled with puddles.

A good number of the fights in Spider-Man: Web of Shadows, mainly because the game uses quick time events to finish most of the boss fights. Get a boss' health below a certain level? Quick time events. Three or four of them, and failing means having to rewatch the whole cinematic. Again. And the quick time events are random.

Last boss in Prototype. Adding a stupidly short timer because the designers were too lazy to make him do anything but the same 2 moves and follow you around. At least they didn't just bring 10 choppers or make you repeat it again with two of them which is what they did with every other fight in that game.

Last boss in the first Ratchet and Clank game.. You need to buy the bloody rhino to beat him otherwise you won't stand a chance.

The object of this thread is an annoying boss of sorts as well... one that is very hard to beat it seems :)

Any boss in a JRPG where you realise your level needs to go up by 10 or 15 just to give yourself a fair chance. Level grinding ahoy.

Murai (Ninja Gaiden Black, level 1) gets an honourable mention - he's not the hardest boss ever, but he's just not what you'd expect from the first boss of the game.

Everyone's first few times against him go something like this:

OK, level boss - just charge in and...
WHACK
THUMP
OW
OK, my fault, know what I did wrong there - let's try again...
BONK
CRUNCH
AARRGGHH
Little harder than I thought. Not a problem...
BANG
SPLAT
HEEEEELLLLLP
I am on "normal" mode, aren't I?
CRACK
SMASH
PLEASE MUMMY MAKE HIM STOP
The hell is this game?!

Who's play'd Prototype surely knows of the most annoying boss ever.

Golem Sisters from Chrono Trigger.

What the hell? You took half my HP in one move!? One freaking move!?

The Mech-walker Buddy in Team Buddies. The Buddy-mech is an awe-inspiring wepon weapon that can decimate everything with its hammer...and if the Buddy-Mech so happened to have had a blue crate used in its construction, then the hammer became Thor's hammer, lightning and all, arcing and electrocuting everything within distance.

If you happen to have a team of Buddies with you, then it ain't too bad as you can just whittle its HP down before it even reaches you, or quickly make some vehicles of your own to engage in pitched combat...or just pwn it with an Ankh, but no, instead there's a campaign mission in which you have to face one single-handedly that only comes out after you've destroyed a certain factory, during which you've exhausted most of your ammo and health, leaving you in no fit condition to stave off a mech assault.
