Projectors for FPS Gaming - any recommendations?

Hey,

Hoping you guys can help me out. Looking for some recommendations for a kickass projector for gaming. I was previously using my old Crenova projector and while it wasn't bad it definitely loses a lot of the color and detail that I believe a better gaming system would provide.

Are there any projectors you guys have used? I'm asking around in a few forums and got some pretty good ideas from Reddit.

Thus far I'm considering a few here - https://www.outdoormoviehq.com/best-projectors-gaming/

Has anyone used any of these?Specifically the Epson HD 142?

Thanks in Advance
Terry

Now why do I think that you're here to advertise? Oh, right. Because it's obvious.

Hey Adam, wasn't trying to advertise. Just asking an honest question. Sorry if it offended you buddy.

These forums have been having problems with advertising bots, and since neither the site itself nor us users appreciate advertising, we tend to have a kneejerk reaction to anything that seems that way. For what it's worth, I haven't found any identical or very similar posts on other forums, so I'm going to give the benefit of the doubt and assume you are not a bot.

Unfortunately, I have no personal experience with gaming projectors, but some quick Google Fu seems to point to the Optoma HD142X and Optoma GT1080Darbee as the projectors of choice for pro gaming events. In either case, you'll be spending at least $500. I haven't found anything about a Epson HD142.

Hey Chimpzy

Thanks for the info.

Not to mention his post was actually well-written and coherent, vs the :&!:&$;$;$$3$;!$;!!000000000044$4$4$;!;*}*}*#?#?#?#?#?#wifeproblems#lololololz;&;$$(!}*#*#*#*?#?#??#
crap we're used to seeing.

On topic, there are some low latency projectors out there, but unless you're playing competitive fighting games or fast paced shooters even 50ms should play just fine. Mine is higher than that (I think 70) and I've gotten the Tower Master trophy in MK9 and beaten Bloodrayne: Betrayal on it. It's nice to see higher quality 1080p projectors south of $1,000. Also check places like Amazon and Crutchfield for good deals/advice.

Well you are advertising. Here you are on the mineccraft forums:

In fact just so you don't delete that post, let me quote you from it:
"Hey guys,

I have a quick question. I've been playing MC for a while but my eyes can't handle it anymore. I get this weird twitch after playing for more than 20 minutes now.

Went to the eye doc and he said my eyes need to "relax" and suggested either getting a bigger monitor.

I figured I may as well get a projector if I'm gonna pay the same amount for a big screen.

Anyone use a projector to play? I'm thinking about getting the Epson HD142, seems like a good choice but not sure. Apparently it's got 1-2X the detail quality of other units - www.outdoormoviehq.com/best-outdoor-projectors/

Anyways, what do you guys think?"

Seem familiar?

EDIT: In fact I've done some snooping.
This is the author of the link you gave us, Steve Scott

Not sure if he's the same Steve Scott as the owner of said website: https://www.outdoormoviehq.com/faq/
That coincidentally sells projectors.

Even more interesting Steve Scott, the author, is using the same profile picture are one Jack Ortega, a Marketing Associate for AwesomeCo, an web-based Marketing company that specializes in brand promotion and recognition.

Well he's stupid for advertising on a dead site.

Oh, shoot. I totally forgot about posting here. There's no need to lie about it. You're obviously backlinking. I don't actually care, I just don't see the point in being deceptive on a gaming forum where a lot of people are familiar with that type of stuff.

When it comes to recommendations for kickass projectors, nothing makes you feel more like a man than an Epson ThunderCougarFalconBird.

Thanks for your recommendation Felstaff.
