So, I recently picked up Fight Night Round 4 and after playing a few rounds and getting a few easy trophies that were for some reason silver, such as, "Win by a knockout in fight now against the computer." I think "well, finally an easy game to get a platinum trophy." So I go into the PS menu and look at the list. All of them seemed pretty mediocre or easy but three in particular caught my attention.
XXL, XL, L Win the (Heavyweight / Middleweight / Lightweight) championship belt in online world championship mode. Now, this may not be exactly what I think, but I am pretty sure that there is only one champion in each weight class at a time.
Please tell me that I am just interpreting this wrong, because there are thousands of people online already in each weight class.
Also, what are some of the games that made you pull out your hair with frustration in search gamerscore or trophies?
Relics of a Forgotten Past from Too Human. You had to assemble a (matching) set of epic gear, all for 5G, I put 60 hours into that game and only found 2 of 7, that achievement can go fuck itself.
Also, Complete Hell Difficulty on Bulletwitch, all for 1G, I got that one, but it was a bitch, the boss took an awful long time to kill.

Lol, well at least what's lacked in the score boost you get back in bragging rights boost.
Also, this is an old one and wasn't an achievement, but on Final Fantasy VIII I beat omega weapon. Wooo.
Well, the hardest trophies I've ever gotten were, War Hero on RE5: beat all chapters on proffesional. Also The bladder of Steel award on Rockband 2: For beating the endless setlist without pausing.
AkJay: Little Rocket man in Half-Life 2: Episode 2 was pretty difficult.
I'm not really an avid gamer so an explanation is great :P.
You see this little gnome, about.. 1/4 into the game, you then have to carry it through A LOT of chapters and scenes and stuff, so you are pretty much carrying this garden gnome for about 4 hours,
Darth Pope: DMC 4's achievement for beating the game on Hell or Hell.
Oh dear. I have enough trouble. I've been stuck on Mission 14 in Dante Must Die mode for a long, long time.
Anyway, the achievements that are overly difficult are often the ones that involve playing well against human players.
The Rockstar one in GTAIV, for example, involves either beating an actual Rockstar developer in battle, or beating someone else who's earned the trophy.
You really have to wonder how many people have gotten that one in the first way, though I lucked out and got it, probably from some random non-developer.

I used the gnome as a weapon, among other objects, with the grav gun throughout the game. Made it pretty interesting. Also, don't you get another achievement for using only gravgun and crowbar?

I believe Guitar Hero 3 had one just like that... it seemed to get passed around quick though, since on my friends xbox the first person I guitar dueled I won him that achievement. Lol

If yo uget through Ravenholm with just the gravgun you get something.
There are lots of insane achievements/trophys I thin the hardest one Ive ever tried to get was the Inhuman Achievement/star power on GH3 Beat Through the Fire and Flames on Expert and Activate star power 3 times on TTFF on expert Only people who have devoted their lives to Guitar hero can get those

Haha wow, I could never get TTFF on Expert. That's just, a tough one...

You guys are mixing up HL2 with Episodes 1 and 2. The Ravenholm one is for HL2, and the grav gun/crowbar only is for Episode 1 ("One Free Bullet"). Little Rocket Man was a bitch to get, especially with the helicopter, but it ended up being pretty fun.
OXM did an article last month about obscenely ridiculous achievements; one for Final Fantasy XI takes over 1,000+ hours of playtime to get.
Be The Knife: Resident Evil 5- Deflect an arrow with your knife. Web of Knowledge: Prototype- Unlock all Web of Intrigue nodes. Hard to Kill: Prototype- Complete the Story Mode without dying even once. Cr0wned: Left 4 Dead- Kill a Witch with one headshot. Medal of Valor: Mass Effect- Complete the game on the Insanity difficulty setting.
I can't remember what it's called, but the medal for MGS4 (I think it's Big Boss). You need to beat the game in record time on the hardest difficulty, no alarms, no kills, only a certain number of saves, no resets. Yeah... crazy.

Do I just suck, or is MGS4 just terribly hard on almost all the difficulties?
The hardest trophy I've gotten so far is the "Test the grenades" trophy in Eat Lead. But just getting the platinum one itself is like running a marathon on a road of broken glass. But the hardest I'm going to try is the "Worlds of hurt-Expert" trophy in Bioshocks DLC or just 100% not just in the story mode, DLC included.
I'm gonna have to go with Far Cry 2 "War Party". You have to Win a game/match with 16 players present. While this achievement should happen within your first couple Team Deathmatch games, it's been 14+ hours of playing for me online and I've only finished 1 game with all 16 players still in it. Someone quits every time, 99% of the time, they're French. I'm pulling the hair out of my head trying to get this and it's totally beyond my control. This is a prime example of why Online/Multiplayer achievements should not be allowed in games.

Get 15 other friends and play it? As for me, the MGS4 and DMC4 achievments already listed are fairly hard/

It's pretty tough, especially The Boss mode. You can't blink without the enemies noticing you.
One of the in-game achievements in CoD4 online, entitled "What the ?". To get it, you have to kill someone... by shooting a claymore or C4... THROUGH A WALL.
I will start since this really boggles my mind.
