Little Rocket man in Half-Life 2: Episode 2 was pretty difficult.

I'm not really an avid gamer so an explanation is great :P.

You see this little gnome, about.. 1/4 into the game, you then have to carry it through A LOT of chapters and scenes and stuff, so you are pretty much carrying this garden gnome for about 4 hours,

I used the gnome as a weapon, among other objects, with the grav gun throughout the game. Made it pretty interesting. Also, don't you get another achievement for using only gravgun and crowbar?

If yo uget through Ravenholm with just the gravgun you get something.

You guys are mixing up HL2 with Episodes 1 and 2. The Ravenholm one is for HL2, and the grav gun/crowbar only is for Episode 2 ("One Free Bullet"). Little Rocket Man was a bitch to get, especially with the helicopter, but it ended up being pretty fun.

OXM did an article last month about obscenely ridiculous achievements; one for Final Fantasy XI takes over 1,000+ hours of playtime to get.

Yeah, I didn't find the gnome one too hard, just time consuming, one free bullet was easy aswell. I like the half life acheivments, they're fun. I'd say a difficult acheivment would be whatever the one for getting all the flags in assassins creed is called, I found like 5 by the end of the game. Pretty much any collection acheivment is hard...

I can't remember what it's called, but the medal for MGS4 (I think it's Big Boss). You need to beat the game in record time on the hardest difficulty, no alarms, no kills, only a certain number of saves, no resets. Yeah... crazy.

Do I just suck, or is MGS4 just terribly hard on almost all the difficulties?

It's pretty tough, especially The Boss mode. You can't blink without the enemies noticing you.

OMG I tried playing on The Boss Extreme... words of advice? Don't stand up, ever, you will be seen.

That would be nice. I only have 2 friends that have the game and it must be done in Ranked. There isn't even a party system to join with friends to one team, let alone 16 people to fill a match.

The 'Blackowicz-ed!' Trophy on Wolfenstein 3D. 'Play' and 'Create' in LittleBigPlanet. A lot of PAIN Trophies. A good few HAWX trophies, and a good few Prototype ones aswell.

Relics of a Forgotten Past from Too Human. You had to assemble a (matching) set of epic gear, all for 5G, I put 60 hours into that game and only found 2 of 7, that achievement can go fuck itself.

I played over 100 hours and got 5 of 6 pieces, then accidentally sold one and lost it to the shop somehow. I stopped playing then and haven't started it again.

seriously 2.0

That is far from impossible. Just takes so damn long. Unless you endlessly just do the brumak bit in the last mission little faster that way I think.

One of the in-game achievements in CoD4 online, entitled "What the ?". To get it, you have to kill someone... by shooting a claymore or C4... THROUGH A WALL.

That. Although I did get it on prestige 4 but that because due to some coordination from a friend telling me when an enemy was about to walk in the door.

Good teamwork :P. Also RE5 Professional mode, oh my. Has anyone else done this? It is always one hit death... especially with a non-human Sheva.

This. The driving section where you're avoiding the bombs is simply hell, and that turn in the water with zombies doesn't make anything better either.

Teamwork and playing with a complete noob who walked into a room with I think 5 C4 charges in it.

Mile High Club was pretty hard if your not used to running and gunning your way through 50 guys in 60 seconds.

Win the (Heavyweight / Middleweight / Lightweight) championship belt in online world championship mode. Now, this may not be exactly what I think, but I am pretty sure that there is only one champion in each weight class at a time.

Please tell me that I am just interpreting this wrong, because there are thousands of people online already in each weight class.

If it is anything like real boxing (I don't have the game yet, so I wouldn't know), then each weightclass will have upwards of 8 or so championship belts. If that is the case, then my guess is you just have to get one. But if you have to be the undisputed champ (unify all the belts on one boxer), then that would be a sight harder.

I certainly hope it's your first guess. I really like trophies! but the only platinum I have is RB2.

Little Rocketman I missed the damn gnome, but I hear it is pretty damn hard.

I haven't heard anyone say Mile High Club, I have tried it about 30 times then I gave up.

Agreed to both.

Seems like a pretty popular one, did the PS3 version of CoD4 have trophies?

I got that one by accident, I laughed my ass off :D

As for me, Uncharted Drake's Fortune has a Trophy/In-Game achievment where you have to kill 5 dudes in a row with a single punch after softening them up with gun-fire. It doesn't sound that hard, but for the life of me I can never find enough enemies and you have to be really careful in how many times you have to shoot them so you can kill them with one hit.

Oh please, all you have to do is replay the game enough so that you get the Infinite Rocket launcher ammo (Beat the game in under 5 hours, all you have to do is basically power walk and replay a bunch of the previous chapters (on easy no less) so that the total amount played equald 5 hours) then it's piss easy!

Bah, no worries, it's not as hard as it seems. You just have to power walk through out most of the level(s), ignore most of the treasures and the enemies, and already have infinite ammo for at least one machine gun (you get infinite ammo for a gun by fully upgrading it then puchasing it in the bonuses menu).

Then, once you get Infinite Rocket ammo, just spam spam spam spam eggs and spam your way through the game! It's like a shooting gallery with blood!

I used got Infinite ammo in 1st shotgun and just blew the zombie masses out of the way with 1 shot then carried on running.

I can also do the last ouroborus encounter in 3 mins 2 secs which shaved alot of time off for me.

Another way to save time is pick up the light yourself in the pitch black mine run to the end turn around, drop the light, walk back a few paces and shoot anything that moves. I usually get hit once doing this method, but it can save so much time.

Completing call of duty 2 on veteran was probably the hardest one I've done.

The 10,001 kills trophies on Resistance 2 and Bad Company.
Especially as no-one is online on Bad Company to kill.
Seriously, Im pretty sure its the same 5 people on there whenever I play, so Im giving up all hope of getting that trophy.

Also, the get all awards trophy on Bad Company, cause they forgot to patch a bug where you can never get one award, so NOBODY CAN PLATINUM the game.

Easily the most frustratingly difficult one I've gotten was 100% completion on GTA 4. It wasn't impossible of course, but it cost me a lot of time and dignity.

Currently I'm doing all the tough Bioshock ones - all the recorded notes, all Little Sistes, hard difficulty setting without using vita-chambers etc.

Some achievements I'm glad I've never had to do have been some of the Dead Rising ones - saving all the survivors while completing the story sounds practically impossible (I think that was one of its tougher achievements) considering last I played it my friend and I couldn't manage doing either of the two let alone both at the same time.

how many people have actually done that?

OT just about all the Day of Defeat achivements, not because they're actually hard, they just need you to play for SO GOD DAMN LONG

The Fallout 3 "Level 30 with Good/Neutral/Evil Karma" achievements aren't hard to get, but they require an ungodly amount of playtime. I'm just glad that Bethesda included Karma-adjusting perks for achievement whores such as myself.

According to Steam, only around 5-8% of people have got it; I imagine it's the same proportion on the 360. It's the car section that really gets to people.

Well for me, the hardest acheivements are the ones that require you to play online...no xbox live, no acheivement.

DMC 4's achievement for beating the game on Hell or Hell.

Oh dear. I have enough trouble. I've been stuck on Mission 14 in Dante Must Die mode for a long, long time.

Anyway, the achievements that are overly difficult are often the ones that involve playing well against human players.

The Rockstar one in GTAIV, for example, involves either beating an actual Rockstar developer in battle, or beating someone else who's earned the trophy.

You really have to wonder how many people have gotten that one in the first way, though I lucked out and got it, probably from some random non-developer.

Actually that's not that hard.I got it becuase I accidentally ran over someone in free for all. If you want I can let you kill me in Gta 4 for the Achievment.Just hope you have an Xbox.

I'm actually quite confused as most of the Achievments listed in games I have I've accomplished.

One in a Millon (I actually have every Achievment for Bf:Bad Company story line)
Let sleeping Rockstars lie.
Little Rocket Man. (Which I did on my first playthrough. Litterally the definiton of tough.)
as well as
The One free bullet(Hl2)
Mile High Club (Cod 4)
The boblle head achivment on Fallout 3
Every achivment except for one in OBlivon (I have to play through the Shivering Isles again to get it. This time I have to kill the lord of Demenita first.)

But the one Acheviment I will never obtain is the on in Assasians creed to collect all of the flags in the kingdom.
