Yes. Some games are coming out specifically for DSi hardware, and it's worth the investment. You'll also get a fully functional DSi with all the buttons working too.
If GBA games arent important get the DSI
Get a DSi. You have an SP so you don't need that 2nd slot.
Well I do like having all the working buttons...
Go for it man, you have nothing to lose and loads to gain.
I got the DS lite when my original was too thrashed to play and I don't regret it. The DSi is just a DS lite with a camera right? If so why not I got a new one just for a new brighter screen and I don't regret it. And you gotta have a working DS for Golden Sun DS!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOLDEN SUN
Well I suppose if your DS is dieing, you might as well.
Only bad thing about the slot other than GBA games (which isn't a problem for you) is the guitar hero games I think. They make your wrist die anyway so its probally better for your health you dont play them. Plus you get the DS store and aload of other new features. Plus with games coming out specificly for it, sounds like you would only get one later on anyway.
In this situation, I don't see any reason why you shouldn't get a DSi over the standard DS. Go for it. Me, I'm waiting till they make it worth my while to switch.
DS Lite. DSi is a ripoff. Besides, Nintendo put out their release schedule for the next while for DSiware, and the only weaker lineup I've ever seen is probably the next year's Wii software lineup. http://www.instantrimshot.com/ I'll be here all night folks.
There is ANOTHER GameBoy!? Last one I got was the Gameboy Color. It was red.
yeah the battery chargers go after about 500 charges if i read the owner's manual correctly i had to buy a new one of those. I have the original DS too but so far everything works fine even though the shoulder buttons stick sometimes. When Golden Sun comes out for the DS then i probably will spring for the new one but until then i see no purpose, I can wait for a price drop.
Since your DS is breaking down pretty badly, I'd say go for it. You already have a GBASP, so unless you want to play the Guitar Hero: On Tour games, there shouldn't be a problem there.
I know this isn't the kind of topic for this, but I can't resist. No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle Not to mention that Bethesda is working on a Wii game, Retro Studios is up to something, and we still have half a year left before Nintendo before 2010 begins, so there is still a chance that more games will be announced. Hardly a weak lineup.
Let me just cut to the chase...
I have the original Nintendo DS and it has seen better days. As of about a year ago, my L Button doesn't work at all and the battery just doesn't charge as much as it used to, meaning I get less gaming out of my DS more and more. I don't really use the GBA slot either because of the L button and that most GBA games I own use the button. I also still have my GBA SP...
Long story short...
Should I get a DSi or not?
