Yup you read the title right...despite not even being officially annouced by Bioware the DLC appeared on Xbox Live this morning and is availible for download for 400 M$ points. I'm downloading it as I write this and will update this post when it completes.
Needless to say this is pretty strange and for all I know could be a mistake much like the Gears of War DLC snafu, but like I said I'm downloading it right now and will update when I play it.
Update: I don't have a mid game save so I have to trudge through Eden Prime before I can hit the DLC. Will update when I get there. Playing through on Hardcore difficulty.
Update 2: Apparently theres a problem with the DLC..dun dun duuun. It isn't working for everyone. Not sure but as far as I know it might have something to do with Bring Down the Sky. It works for some people, but not for others. Gonna see what I can do to get it working.

Update 3: The problem with the new DLC is with the Platinum Edition games. If you got Bring Down the Sky through the bonus disc in the platiunum edition it conflicts with the new DLC. You have to delete Bring Down the Sky from your hard drive in order to play Pinnacle Station.
The problem with that is that you can't play any characters that have been to Asteriod 37 without having Bring Down the Sky...sooo the game becomes unplayable unless you make a brand new character.
Right now the only solution to this (as of right now) is to purchase the Bring Down the Sky version from the Xbox Marketplace for 400 M$ points...which needless to say is going to piss people off.
If you have the version of BDTS from the marketplace Pinnacle station will work fine.
Update 4: Well I've played through the update and honestly it's kinda meh...average? It has a shoestring story which might as well not exist at all. The premise is that you go to this SPECTRE training facility and are challenged to beat the top scores for each training simulator of an annoying Turian....and thats pretty much it for the majority of the DLC. Theres a bit more to it but I won't spoil it for anyone.
You have 4 missions to choose from and each mission has three maps it can be played on. Once you get the top scores for each map and every mission you complete the story and your done with the DLC.
Bottom Line: It's an action oriented DLC and while it gives you something to do it really does nothing to advance the story and honestly will most likely end up being something you play once and only repeat if your looking for XP and/or items. I wasn't really impressed with it. Especially if you do this on a high level character the benefits you get from completing the mission are pretty much non existent... *Spoiler* *Spoiler* *Spoiler* After completing the mission you get access to your very own little apartment on a planet in Argos Rho that lets you restock medi-gel and grenades, along with letting you buy random upgrades/weapons for a hefty price...oh and you get a pretty weaksauce weapon from the Turian...and thats it.
MaxTheReaper: So you're downloading something strange that costs money, that wasn't announced by the makers of the game?
Lol well enough information has come out on it to know what it is. It's a new quest chain in the same style that Bring Down the Sky was. Here's hoping I didn't just buy a Hello Kitty theme for 400 M$ points haha =p
It was announced before. It's likely available, as it was available on the German marketplace yesterday afternoon.
Ah I wasn't aware of that. If thats true then yeah it's most likely not some fluke. Just wierd that Bioware hasn't come out and said "New DLC for Mass Effect is Pinnacle Station". While they've said new DLC would arrive eventually they haven't said anything about Pinnacle Station specifically.

Hello Kitty rocks out with its c--actually that'd probably get you arrested, considering Hello Kitty's target audience.

Ugh.... You should have seen my face when I got a CBT invite for Hello Kitty online.
Jarrett Lee, Marketing Manager: Turns out coordinating/synchronizing two separate publishers on two different platforms is trickier than one would hope
Also, resources were quite strained with Gamescom last week so this release didn't quite go as smoothly as planned.
PC players: the download will be available soon this morning. I believe 10 am PST, but don't quote me on that lol.
gof22: So is this a fault of Bioware or a fault from X-BOX Live? If they are going to fix it why not just fix it already. It has well been over 4 months.

Why did you necro this?
Actually I downloaded Pinnacle Station at about 1:00 AM and when I could not get it to work I searched google for some answers. One of the first links was from the main bioware site. I clicked on that link and it led me to here.
Plus, I feel it would have been silly making a new thread about it.
I actually found a way to get it to work as well. The Mass Effect thing I mean.
