FLAME SHEILD UP | |
XD love that picture, anyway LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL! I brought marshmallows for s'mores
I'll bring in the back up in case the Flame Shieldz don't work.
| |
Just blew my mind. You win a cookie.
Uh... I don't like sports games. Never been good at sports, real/digital/other... Because of that the thought of playing sports in a game just never took off with me, and every time I (reluctantly) play with a friend it just bores me. That and I fail to see the need to update every year outside of new team rosters and stats. But then again, that's just me. ... I don't have a flame shield...
Least Favorite: Sports of any series or medium aside of Mario and Kunio-kun games Most Beloved: Console SRPGs (Fire Emblem, NIS games, etc)
Sports to me as well as said by Caboose. Same insights, same things. I play games because I want to get away from reality and its boring features of limitations.
FPS and Adventure are my favourites. I don't really not like a genre, but my least favourite would probably be sports as well. If I can do it myself, I don't need a game about it.
Western RPG's, something I can get really lost in, both story and gameplay wise. The deeper, the better. Baldur's Gate II was one of my favourite games of all time, I loved Oblivion, and I'm painfully excited for Dragon Age. My attitude with everything in life is that I just want to keep seeing new and new things, so RPG's are great for that. Least favourite? Probably puzzle games. I can understand the lure, but see above. I can't abide something that's based on repeating the same thing over and over again in variations of difficulty or speed.
My favorite genre inherently is a mix, such as the Ratchet & Clank series (shooter/platformer), as I find that more versatility on the player's end is always better, as long as it doesn't increase complexity. My least favorite genre, inherently, is turn-based strategy. By its very definition, a turn-based game will involve a lot of waiting, and I don't think any developer has thought of a way around this.
I like RPGs and survival horror. I absolutely HATE sports games because, just like Mirroga, I play games to escape reality and since I hate real sports I also hate virtual/digital sports.
your Star Wars ref FTW | |
Sports games...yes, sports games should be an entirely unflammable answer.
Fix'd. And so I don't get a spam warning...I like RPGs for the most part, although FPS have grown on me. I hate sports games, except for Skateboard/snowboard games. I absolutely loved Tony Hawk and the SSX series.
Favorite: Western RPGs Least Favorite: JRPGs, or Sports
I don't really understand what all the flame/wookie pictures are about as all i read was the topic, so ill answer it without getting too attached to whatever.
I swear I saw this a couple of days ago (it was a poll)...
I don't really have a favorite genre, per se--if a game grabs me, I'll give it a try, and if I like it, I won't trade it back in. I do have a least favorite, though: sports/racing. If I want to throw a ball around or drive a car, I'll just do it. No need to pay extra.
Favorites = RPG/FPS/Racing Least favorite = sports/fighting
Don't know if a horde of Wookies would be good back up to a flame war in my opinion ...hair is rather easily torched. It would be confusing when they caught fire...are they trying to talk or screaming in pain? anyway OT Favorite: Western RPG or a good FPS Least Favorite: Games based on movies. They are usually released before the movie, which I wouldn't want to play then because it would then ruin the movie I would later watch. Also to mention that they are usually cheaply made and therefore the gameplay is usually shit. (and like with everything there are exceptions to the rule)
Well, until recently I probably would have said RPG's (J or W). But lately I'm more transfixed by stuff that's just different. Or Japanese. Alright I really love Japanese crap. But back to different! Yeah, anything with a neat art style or a unique gameplay mechanic will likely draw me in. Oooh ooh, I also like anything that's complex. I'm one of those raging assholes who bemoans the recent trends of user friendliness and simplification and the dreaded "streamlining". Really just shoves a great big bug up my ass. Least favorite would likely be sports games, although there is the odd gem. Mostly the Mario stuff.
i love 'em all, except Sports games.
I hate sports games because they control so badly and they're not as cool as actually going out and doing the bloody thing. I love lots of genres. Morrowind is the only RPG I ever really got into, but it's great, so why play the others? Counter-Strike, Day of Defeat, Star Wars Battlefront 2, Quake Wars, GMod, and Sauerbraten pretty much sums up my FPS like-list, I've got some good platformers lying around (nameably Jazz Jackrabbit 2 and Jumper), a couple PopCap games, and some third person action games. Variety is always cool.
Favourite: Action/Adventure-style RPGs. Broad, I know, but it's the only way I can phrase it. Least Favourite: Fighting. I used to love fighting games, but, well...there isn't really anywhere for the genre to progress on its own, unless it's incorporated into other games. If you play one game you've played them all, I guess. Sports would be in here to, but, since there are some loosely-termed sports games I like (*cough*SSX*cough*) I can't put it here. "Realistic sports games" are games I don't like - I guess it just can't hold my interest compared to the big jumpy flashy colours of all the other games out there.

Favourite: RPG Least Favourite: RTS
In all honesty, my favourite genre is first person games, not just shooters, but any game from the first person perspective I find adds a whole new layer of immersion, and with mainly their hands to follow on, you can normally fill up most of the blanks concerning your characters appearance and well, characteristics (Favourite first person game:Half-life 2) But my least favourite genre of gaming, definitely has to be anyone that incorporates turn based combat, mostly from a perspective like this: as opposed to this: I find that those I've played are just un-immersive, clunky and unless there's a degree of real time action or the animations are a treat for the eyes then the combat gets very boring. It wouldn't be so bad, but in these games you're fighting all the time!
I don't like fighting and sports games. I've never been into turn-based combat either, so I avoid games that incorporate such a system. As for genre, my favourite games all tend to fall into different genres - it doesn't matter what genre a game is, all that matters is if the game is done well. For example, I don't really like RTS's, but I love Warcraft 3.
favourite genre is platformers. I just enjoy making your way from A to B while navigating death course C and at the end fighting boss fight D with only a handful of close range attacks. least favourite is probably FPS's. Can't get on with the controls, first person view makes me nauseous, and I just get bored of the singleplayer, and get killed to death so much in multiplayer it's not even fun for me. And with all the sports hate, are you referring to all sports, or just the constant glut, of Madden, Fifa, Tiger Woods, etc? As there are some good games that can technically be classed as sports, like racing games, or skateboarding games.
Hi, Thank you... | |
RPG/Sports RPG's i love because i enjoy long emersive stories and being able to upgrade my gear. fun fun fun. Sport games (and this is just my opinion) are dumb. they are (to me) totally unimaginative, unoriginal, uncreative and they are all the same. i just cant see there being much effort involved in producing games like that. so i dont respect them. that and im just not into sports, which is a contributing factor, in know. but even if i did like sports..i would still feel the same way. Having said that, i understand the reason why those games exist, there is obviously a fanbase for them, and if thats your thing. thats totally cool. they just arent for me. ever. this is not including racing games, keep in mind. those are dope. especially mario kart.
Favorite genre would probably be Western RPGs, or FPS's. I absolutely hate the annual sports games though (like Madden, MLB, etc.). While I do like racing sims which fall under that category, those games in general just bore me.

Favourite: Adventure
I've always been a huge fan of adventure games. I love the whole exploration aspect and the who story driven gameplay (usually).
Least Favourite: Fighting
Ugh, fighting games take too much skill to enjoy in my opinion. For those who have that skill I could see them enjoying these types of games but for those who don't (me) they suck.
Okay, so what about you all?
