One more: Dissidia on PSP. Incorporated most of the best Final Fantasy music including 'One Winged Angel', my personal favorite. No questions... These are the best. |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 3595 Joined: 14 Jan 2009 | I think stating something like GTA or Guitar Hero is sorta cheating. Especially Fallout 3 since they're, you know, REAL SONGS, aside from the instrumental pieces around the wasteland when your radio's off, but I'm sure most people turned them off because it was similar enough to oblivion without having similar music...xD Anyway, I would have to go with either Command and Conquer, all of the music being done by Frank Klepacki, an inddustrial rock composer... or... Total Annihilation (though Supreme Commander's has grown on me as well.) Actually, anything by Jeremy Soule is EXTREMELY good. He did the soundtracks to both TA and SupCom, as well as Morrowind, Company of Heroes, Dawn of War, and much much more...Prey, Icewind Dale, Unreal II, Dungeon Siege II, and a bunch of stuff I'm forgetting. He's really a great composer. That said, the Mechwarrior 2 soundtrack is really awesome too, since I recently rediscovered it, but...Oddly enough, I think my real answer here is Unreal Tournament. From the menu, to Hyperblast, to the hall of champions, it had some of the best fast-paced music for an arena FPS I've ever heard. It blends trance and rock into some weird genre of electronica that I had never heard before until I played the game, and so much of the music is simply badass. edit: EXTREMELY honorable mentions to Braid and Trine. Braid especially since I listened to and want to purchase Shira Kammen's album after hearing her music in the game. |

I have thus had rather limited experience. From my rather limited experience, I choose: You don't even have to be on methampthetamine, ecstasy and LSD to enjoy it. Of course, any big fans of Brahms's Cello Sonata in F might give you funny looks partway through. |

Agreed. There are a lot of games with great soundtracks: MGS, Halo, Armored Core, LoZ:OoT, FF to name but a few. But SotC takes the crown, definitely. |

I say Guitar Hero 2 had very awesome soundtrack, Megadeth, Buckethead, Anthrax and Freezepop. And I'll be the one only one saying this, Simcity 4 has a good soundtrack as well, too bad it's so underappreciated.
