The Backstory of Team Fortress 2 is Revealed at last and...

http://www.teamfortress.com/pumpkinpatch/family_portrait/

A Family picture if found showing the original owners or RED and BLU, the Guard Dog, and the Announcer!

So, what do you think of all this awesomeness from Valve all the sudden?

Oh wow, that....that's just brilliant. A family feud, I really would've never made that up. *applauds for Valve once again*

It's funny, I would've thought shoe-horning in a story to a game like TF2 would seem lame. But that's actually really clever. Seriously, it all makes sense now... why they fight over useless desert, why the two teams build bases 20 yards away from eachother, why they buy all their products from MANN CO... brilliant. You gotta love Valve.

So what do you reckon the secret s.... is at the end of the letter?

Well.
That makes quite a lot of sense.
Actually, I was just thinking, Doesn't the Scout have 8 brothers?
Could this mean the classes are related in some strange way?

I couldn't read very much of that. The handwriting was terrible.

did everyone figure out that you can click the words barnabus bail or hail whatever it said and it shows you the portrait.

Haha, brilliant. Valve sure does have a sense of humor

yeah thats what valve do they make a string of pages and connect them with hidden links which is always fun to find.
well done vavle for stringing in a story that fits in to tf2 when i though no story would actually fit. so its a family fued very well done i have to say. bravo

For some reason, after seeing that family portrait I thought of a different family.

Probably a prank; wouldn't be the first time Valve's pulled a prank.

Why are they taking so long to update!!! raaarrrggghhh!!! I want to play Halloween style with halloween hats and get Halloween achievements to feed my inner achiwhore. :(

It's real, the Ghostly Gibus, the secret hat that 10000 people got from clicking on the the tombstone inscription, has been sighted around TF2 maps.
You can get your own Ghostly Gibus by dominating someone who also has the hat. The KOTH-HARVEST servers will be full as ever with people attempting to earn those five achievements, when they're active. (OCT. 29 - NOV. 2)

Naturalized:
I couldn't read very much of that. The handwriting was terrible.

Basically, it was explaining the backstory behind team fortress. The father Zephaniah Mann leaves a building site to his two feuding sons (which explains why the teams get there stuff from Mann co.) Blutarch and Redmond. The whole thing was Zephaniah's last will and testament. In it he says he's going too haunt a certain location (the halloween map). There's more but it's midnight here and I cba to go through it properly.

I like the "Kill the spy that's disguised as your class" achievement. Pretty clever

Awesome. I hadn't seen the portrait, but I saw the will. It all makes perfect sense--everyone fits in. Notice how Zephaniah's wife is the Announcer?

"I even contracted womb fever, as a complication of a serious bout of superflous uterus." I freaking love Valve :P

Brr.... that is one creepy backstory.

God, that explains alot.

From the description text:
"The youngest of eight boys from the south side of Boston, the Scout learned early how to problem solve with his fists. With seven older brothers on his side, fights tended to end before the runt of the litter could maneuver into punching distance, so the Scout trained himself to run. He ran everywhere, all the time, until he could beat his pack of mad dog siblings to the fray."

Ohhhh.
ok i get it now.
Thanks
