Okay I better be first with this so I'll keep it short - the trailer for the Sands of Time movie is out now!
It looks fantastic - finally a great adoption from game to film!

No more to be said just go here and watch :

What are you talking about? That trailer looks fucking stupid. This movie is going to blow ass and I'll still have to force myself to see it.

Looks cool, but I won't go to the theaters to watch it. *Hint, hint*

Also, when they first showed the prince it kind of looked like Assassins Creed. :D

No matter what he does Jake Gyllenhdigfdhfi..haal just grates on me.

He just has that sort of face you want to slap.

I'm not saying he hasn't done a good job of buffing up for the movie, but they couldn't have gotten someone a bit less.. wet-blankety?

Looks alright, I don't have any expectations of it though. I don't think there's ever been a movie adaption of a game that wasn't terrible.

Jake Gyllenhaal as the Prince? What the fuck?
And what's with this whole "Dustin" thing as his name, or what ever it is...g'damn it!
Can't be just leave games alone? Uwe Boll (or however it's spelt) has done more than enough damage!!

Oh...

My...

God...

That could possibly the greatest, most epic thing to ever cross my corneas. I never thought I'd say this, but thank you Disney.

Dastan? Daz?..
They should have just called him Dusty and got it over with.

Why didn't they keep the ACTUAL story- not throw in random temples and stuff!

This wil either be pretty epic, or pretty shit

This... Doesnt look terrible, actually. I don't think there were that many people in the Sands of Time, just Farah, Prince, and The Vizier, but whatever, i'll roll with it. It did look a tad Assassin's Creed-y, though.

Agreed, there are many, MANY other more qualified actors than he. It's just because Disney didn't want to go indie and get a name nobody knows.

Well, Alfred (f*cking) Molina is in it.

That's gotta count for something.

It certainly looks cool, but...

He's the Prince of Persia; hence, there should be at least one person who looks remotely Persian.

That, and it's ultimately going to be Pirates of the Caribbean set in the desert; it may be decent fun, but it's not anything we haven't seen a million times before.

That...That looks really good. I think it's easy to point out the differences between that movie and the actual games, but at the very least it'll be entertaining. I'm actually kind of looking forward to it now.

Wait...bloke taking some mystical item to a place in the middle of nowhere to stop the end of the world, while being chased by angry blokes wearing black who ride horses...Oh and the final location is guarded by some great evil demon?...

...This sounds an awful lot like Lord of the Rings to me. But I've never played Prince of Persia, so I might just be talking rubbish

It looks like it could be worse, but it most certainly could be better.

I still think they should have casted a relative-unknown as the Prince.

Well, in the Sands of Time, there was no trip to middle of nowhere...the whole game pretty took place in and around a palace. Clearly a few liberties have been taken. I can understand the need to give the prince a name, but I hear the woman (who sounds terribly annoying in this trailer in my opinion) isn't called Farah. I may be over reacting to such a small detail but it just strikes me as a bit needless to give a different name to someone who is essentially going to be the same character from the game.

I'm not sure if I will go and see this or not, but we just now it'll turn out to be a fairly undemanding piece of fluff (it is a summer movie after all).

That said, if they don't have that odd bath house area from the game, I will be slightly disappointed.

Wasn't that followed by sexy-sexy time in some gold water?
Maybe I just dreamed that...

Looks like it's had some decent weight put behind it, so it could be bearable. I am a bit concerend about the abusive amount of slow-mo and close-ups of arrows flying about though.

Yeh, that was the place, and no you didn't dream it. :) I was just struggling for a decent way to describe it, is all. I'm sure they've already got the inevitable romantic interlude in the film sorted out anyway...

Looks like a competent Lord of the Rings rip off.

... It best take place in gold water...

It was one of those every door looks the same, and brings you out in what looks like the exact same place things right? Regardless, it was too clever and trippy to be in this film.

(Also, thank you for clarifying that I don't have dreams about people canoodling in gold water. :D)

It doesn't look bad and there are a couple of moments where it almost brings back the feeling of the game. I would be surprised if it as good as the game and it looks sort of 7/10ish.

Yeh, that was the place and you're right, probably best leave taht part in the game. Anyway, back to the subject of the trailer, it may have just been due to the typical trailer method of cramming as much exciting stuff in as possible, but I'm sure I could see some Dark Prince style effects at certain points in the trailer. Though maybe I am now just imagining things.

Don't get too excited, we've all been disappointed by past videogame movie failures (Super Mario, Dead or Alive, Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Final Fantasy, House of the Dead, Street Fighter, etc.)

EVERYONE IS PLEASED!!!!

Aww I can't wait to watch this now. And then I'm going to get it on DvD, and then I'm going to watching it until I wear grooves into the disc

I'd be more interested if the prince wasn't being played by such a wanker. God i hate him. He's also one of the least Persian looking people i've ever seen, and that long hair makes him look like a complete twat.

Other than that, looks kind of cool.
