I'm debating over whether I should sell the game now or not. I don't play the game anymore (I never liked it that much anyway). But I do need some money now.

Do you think that a few years from now that it will be some collector's thing worth a lot of money? Or not and should I just sell it now?

Not anytime soon. Wait about 50 years odd, and make a HUGE point of it being a bestseller, and you could fetch a bit of cash for it.

Best sell it now.

Most games loose their value over time.

Apparently you can trade it in in return for a discount for MW2 in Game in the UK, at least according to my friend who is doing that.

Although, seeing as you didn't like it in the first place, I suppose there is really no point to doing that.

It's too plentiful to really become a collector's item. Older-generation games have a better chance.

Mass produced items=aint worth crap as collectibles.

Only in 20 years, and then only for around £80 or so. If you need cash, just trade it off for £20 or so.

It might be worth something if a plastic eating virus destroys most of the 10 million or so copies in existence. In other words no, it's not likely to be a rare valuable game in the future.

Yeah I kinda figured it wouldn't be worth crap and I really need some cash now so I'll just sell the mother. Thanks.

Judging by the fact that I recently got Half Life 1 for a fiver, I would say no.

It was mass produced, so I'm going to guess no.

Considering only 11teen trillion copies were sold, I'm going to say it falls into the category of market saturation, in a Valhalla twilight of American Pokemon cards, Pog, and Tickle-Me-Elmos

No way! If anything it's less likely to be a collector's item because every body and their freaking dog owns it.

Games that become rare are usually ones that people don't buy (EarthBound) or ones that just have a limited print (Space Channel 5 Part 2 in the UK)

It's just the flavor of the month (so to speak).

Soon the next big FPS will dwarf the CoD series and we'll all be chatting about that.

If only my brother believed in this thread. Apparently Game is offering £18 for it.

No. It was mass produced, and very popular. Now my N64 that I still have, I wonder about that

No One Lives Forever 2 should be.

I've got that in a tattered case, anyone want?
(500quid?)

OT: I have the collectors edition of CoD2, it's shiny.

Of all the CoD games CoD 4 will is up there with the least likely to be a collectors item if any of them will be at all.

To be honest its all to generic in the wider spectrum of FPSs and will be forgotten, more unique games or honestly amazing games (Okami) Will probably be worth more down the line.

And this game wasn't just mass produced it was massively distributed too. The only collectors games are the ones that are rare. Considering how many people bought cod4, I doubt it will even be a collectors item in 50 years.

Hell yeah, just like MW2.

/fanboy

Probably not, since most games people consider classics are from the NES and SNES era.
