So Dragon Age has been out for a day and I haven't seen many DA topics yet. How are your adventures in Ferelden going?

I have it, but I have work to do first. In fact, I should be doing it right now. You may call it procrastination, I call it multitasking. With a little less tasking on the... well, work.

I'll update once I do get to playing it.

I got it for the 360, and am just about to do the ritual to become a Grey Warden.
So I'm not very far at all.

But! It's good so far! I'm very intrigued and excited to see the game pan out.
I'm a City Elf Rogue. Just thought I'd throw that in.

I could be wrong, but I don't think its out here (Aus) yet.
But I am planning on getting it at some point. I never played Baldur's Gate but if DA:O lives up to the hype of its spiritual predecessor then it should be awesome.

Damn you! I ahve to wait till Friday, it's killing me. I got really excited when i saw your physical and mental resistances are listed on the character screen. No, i don't know why either.

I'm planning on going Dwarf commoner warrior using two handers. Small people with huge weapons are funnny.

I plan on buying it as soon as possible - I have the money, but not the time.

Soon, though.

OMG i have to wait till Friday :( I haven't been this hyped up about a game for a long time. I hope it's as good as people say it is.

So far the game has been very enjoyable. I find the story really engaging. The combat is fun as well, if a bit tough.

However, I hulked out last night after a series of technical issues. (PC version here) I had three CTDs and a blue screen within the span of an hour. This is the first of these sort of problem that I have ever had with games on my PC. After a reset, I updated all of my video and processor drivers. I was then able to play for another hour or so without incident.

Awesome game. As a fan of NWN, KOTOR, and BG, it's exactly what I expected to be (well, at least 3 hours into the game it is). The graphics are a tad bit dated (as several reviews pointed out), but the gameply is old school Bioware RPG style. Very nice. I actually really like the ample amounts of blood :D

I'm somewhat intrigued to get it, but equally not intrigued to get it on the 360 as my computer could barely run the character creator without dying. I very well might pick it up after a while, or if it ever goes down in price, but the lingering taste of Mass Effect (which I did not like at all) is a reminder to not get excited D:

So far, it's been fantastic. I finished enough of the game last night to get to the world map, which took me about 5 or so hours, but I'm likely going to restart with a different character. I don't think I really care for the sword/shield combo.

It was the elevators, wasn't it. Joking aside, what about Mass Effect didn't you like? Gameplay, characters, over-all story?

Are the graphics really bad? From what i've seen in videos, it doesn't look bad at all for the 360 version. I've watches streams too but others say its graphics aren't good at all.

I've pre-ordered it, i can't wait for Friday! :D

i'm planning on making the switch from the 360 version to the pc version... mostly for graphics upgrades and that touted alternative camera view thingy... luckily there's a computer in my house that can run it (fingers crossed), but lacking that the 360 version is still insanely awesome...

Yeah, the sword and shield came off as a little bland for me. I decided to go with a two-hander approach. That has been pretty fun. Although, I've noticed that some future skills and gear that I have already picked up, have monstrous strength requirements. At only 3 attribute points per level, I feel like I would need to really forego some of the other important attributes just so my character could keep progressing down the skill path I have set him on. As far as I know, you can't 'retrain'.

Don't think it's out in England til Friday. Look forward to doing a bit of adventuring, although...pretty certain I'll never finish it.

I am just going to point out one thing...
The bulk of the bad guys are just Goombas from the Super Mario Bros Movie.

Well after some questing of my own to find a copy of the Collector's Edition on PC - Best Buy didn't seem to understand what the point of a pre-order was and sold all their copies and while I had forgotten about having also pre-ordered at Gamestop they never offered pre-orders on the Collector's Edition.

I finally sat down to play later that night. All the servers were quick and responsive, so I had no trouble retrieving all my previously made character and getting the horde of items I had gotten from the flash game and codes included with the boxed game.

I'm only a few hours in, making my way up the tower now, on a Human Rogue, but I am greatly enjoying the experience thus far. The highlight for me last night was going to talk to an NPC standing right next to another one - the dialogue was playing out exactly like every other game where the rest of the world was completely obvious to your conversation. Suddenly my NPC father butts in saying "You know I am standing right here and can hear you" or something to that effect. Details like that are what are really making this game a step above most.

I'm really looking forward to buying it for my 360 when I have some cash, but Assassin's Creed II will be out soon! I'm still not sure which I'm going to buy first, and which I'll request for Christmas.

The elevators didn't help, but it was mostly... well, most of it. I didn't ever grow to care about the characters, but enjoyed that they were fleshed out, and I hated my actions not ever feeling like they actually had any sort of weight on the universe, or at least none that I could ever distinguish. The combat was slightly entertaining, but I found it got really clunky really fast in my hands...

And the Mako. OH GOD THE MAKO. That little car can go die in a fire.

I haven't been able to get my hands on any Bioware work (and my boyfriend fuckin' lost KOTR! >.>) besides Jade Empire, which I LOVED. It remains one of my favourite games to this day.

So... I'm on the fence. Mostly what gets me is that I don't know if I'd be able to find a class mixture I'd like. If there's a somewhat easy way to make a mageknight sorta thing, a melee warrior with competent magic skills or a mage that can go into melee, I'd be in love.

Started with a Human Noble Warrior, then switched to a Female City Elf Warrior at Girlfriends request. I'm loving the game so far, it sort of feels like playing an exceptionally awesome game of DnD.

I've only played the Mage Origin story, but I can tell its going to be my favorite game of the year simply because when I reached a point where you need tochange areas it asked "Do you wish to gether your party and venture forth?" That had me grinning like an idiot for 5 minutes.

I ordered borderlands instead (my birthday today :D ) still kind of want dragon age but think the combat looks pretty aged and boring. I don't want mmo/old gen combat in a new single player game, just queing attacks doesn't cut it anymore imo.

Really? I thought the sword and shield combo would be the best. Can you elaborate on whats not so great on sword play?

OT: I can't wait to play this game, but I have to play Jak and Daxter: The Lost frontier first

have it on reserve, havn't made a character but have one planned.

I'm going with "Louie The Rune Soldier" or just Louie. He will be a big mage with blue hair, crap at magic and stupidly strong with no weapon skills. Just the type of char to make the game interesting.
