The stuff that they did with MW2 (Dedicated servers, party chat) aren't a deal breaker. I'm sure everyone in God's kingdom is going to be playing the hell out of this game.

You could have gone into any MW2 thread and found numerous posts by people who are all saying they are sick of threads about MW2 bitching. This thread was entirely unnecessary and was not set up for real discussion to occur, which it didn't. That is all I'm saying.

Also, that the hypocrisy of whining about whining was kind of funny.

No, Imagine your favorite memory ever. Now imagine it being ripped from your body. Now i'm not a big fan IW but more and more devs will follow in their footsteps because of it's huge success. Taking dedicated servers is the worst thing anyone can do to a major franchise.

If there's a thread in a forum nothing compels you to take part in that thread. Why are you complaining about something you could easily ignore?

As I said in my edit, when I first loaded up your topic, the only options that showed up on the poll were the two yes options. I don't know if I just had a bad page load, or if you were in the middle of updating the poll when I saw it or what. After I finished posting I noted the poll had all the options, so I added the edit at the bottom of my post. Once again, sorry for that.

i actually enjoy it. It brings hope that one day the CoD franchise will end, and some people can look back on excellent FPS PC Games like Battlefield 2 (well, hopefully they forget the PKM)

Wow, you guys sure showed me what-for.

So, if PC folks are so dead-set on righting the wrongs committed against them by the game developers, why don't you people do something about it. I don't mean petitioning or boycotting. Developers don't really react to that stuff. This big blow-up with Infinity Ward pulling the dedicated servers is probably not going to stop with them because even with all your protesting, petitioning and boycotting, the game is still going to sell buttloads of units.

I don't care if people complain about Infinity Ward's decisions regarding MW2. What does annoy me is when people insult me personally for being stupid enough to want to buy the game despite everything. I'm in it for the gameplay, which remains unaffected.

And that is what the problem is. Other devs look up at IW because of their huge success. They may do what they do (taking away dedicated servers). That is why i'm complaining. IW's move is a threat to mostly everything PC gaming.

One there is a reason people buy a $1000 pc to a $300 console, even if you look at todays releases most games are coming out for the consoles or ported to each other. But why when u look at the pc side, games seem to last so longer than on the console side. Remember Counter Strike people... that game that is still played now due to modding, dedicated servers and stuff. It gives the game lasting appeal. Even cod4, we even play 50 player matches with buttloads of mods that makes the experience better and worth while and do you think without dedicated server support this would all happen. I say not. But knowing pc gamers and hackers, they will find a way to get around this.

PS: Damn pirates, if anyone of plays on garena l4d2 and cod:mw2 is out. WTF

i'm sorry, but being a pc gamer myself, i'm not whining about them taking away the dedicated servers as i only play on non-dedicated servers.

Oh sorry, I didn't notice your edit. The problem was when I was trying to hit tab to go to the next option box, I accidentally hit enter, which posted the thing, so I had to go back and edit, which happened no less than 5 times. I have a huge sleep deficit, sorry.

Then you don't truly understand what is being taken away.

I think it's incredibly easy to not click on a thread with a title relating to Modern Warfare 2. Then you don't have to see it, and you can continue to ignore all the rediculousness that has apparently built up over this mere videogame.

Just because I'm not buying it doesn't mean that I'm boycotting. There are tons of games in the store that straight up don't interest me, so I'm not going to buy them. I have nothing against the companies themselves and I don't want anything in return.

of course i do, but dedicated servers are not needed, and when i did play them they were just filled with loudmouth... lets not say rude words on here, but you get my meaning.

at least with non-dedicated servers i got the same game but with a smaller, better community for those servers
