Worst ending you have ever seen

I want to know what the worst ending for a video game (or movie Im ok with that) you have ever had to witness. It could have bin a kick to the nuts, a closureless cliffhanger, however it felt I wanna know. Personally it was the ending to call of juarez bound in blood. I understand it was a prequel but come on! I understand that it sends a strong logical message but his own brother left him and his preacher brother for a woman who faked fealings for the brother that was left behind and he just up and forgives him, becomes a preacher, join them in their marrage, and lives with them for the rest of their lives? ya it makes sense I guess but it happens over the course of a thirdy second slide show.

To my recollection, most of the endings for Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow were kind of terrible.

Spoiler for 5+ year old game:

Pretty much, most of the endings had you either die or turn evil. Best case scenario, you are Dracula reincarnate and defeat his castle. But even that doesn't last long because sequels are awesome.

well, it may not have been the WORST ending i ever seen, but it was the most dissapointing, and that is the ending to MW2, it happened too soon, and ended the game WAY TOO soon. it was badass tho,

Metal gear solid 4: guns of the patriots.

I mean come on, roughly an hour of cutscenes and doesnt give solid snake the send off he deserves, its all just talking about the bloody patriots and some nanomachine crap which the only way to understand it is by learning javascript and linux programming! ( Even then its a struggle!)

The ending to Dark Alliance 2. They made a cliffhanger for a sequel that will NEVER COME!!!

I second that, also it made no god damn sense, for spoilers sake we shall call the bad guy Chuckles, but after Chuckles crashed his Helicopter he somehow has the strength to kick the crap out of 2 special forces guys? no no no no no

The ending for MW2 was a major cockslap.

We had this thread mere days ago.
Will people ever learn to use the fucking Search Bar?.

Shadow Hearts From the New World. Both endings were short and uninspiring, for what was an uninspiring game anyway. I'd let this game slide, because it did have some good points, but as a member of the Shadow Hearts family it was an embarrassment.

Prince of Persia 2009

Yea, I know a lot of people say it, but as a first time PoP player, it pissed me off immensly

I was gonna say MW2, it had a bad ending.

Sorry for the mini-rant there. But I was pissed.

First, inb4h@l02. Second, Halo 3. Um, where the HELL is John? What is that planet? WELL?

While i agree that this ending was waaaaaay too long there was still effort put into it unlike Metal gear 2. Maybe it's because I'm english but I really didn't give a shit about the president's birthday

OT:
Halo 2

Lots and fighting, then epic escape, then Trumpets start blaring, cue Master chief one-liner theeeeeeeen to be continued. 0/10 on effort bungie.

Or Mario 64, collect god knows how many stars, beat a turtle/dinosaur/dragon to earn some cake. Atleast in portal the cake was chocolate!

EDIT: 2 mins too slow in on halo 2 :(

Thanks for pouring salt in that old wound. Took me forever to find the second.

The new Alone in the Dark hands down.

NES Ghostbusters, anyone?

The Surrogates
Oblivion
Harry Potter but only because I had realized too late that I'd just wasted hours of my life reading that series.

Yeah, that's all I have off the top of my head.

The worst ending for Myst 3.

I hate both the Far Cry 2 endings, they are so anti-climactic.

yea no doubt, i was so fucking pissed at that, i wanted at least another 4 hours of game out of it, but i beat it in like. 6 hours and to have it end like THAT,was one of the most controller throwing moments EVER. but at least i still have xbox live and spec ops to do...

To be fair though, that search bar is pretty fucking worthless. I tried searching for a thread using it the other day, and even after narrowing the search down to forums, I still got shit not even remotely related.

Same here, but sorry for a repeat anyway.

fallout 3 amazing game freaking retarded closure. there was like 14 endings but.... they all sucked

Borderlands

Which is a pity because the game was good fun to play.

Every bad silent hill endings of every silent hill game.

Hmmmm... It would have to be Prototype for me.
I mean if your not gonna end and just be some random dude running around manhattan and be cool then obviously the people who made Prototype need to OPEN THERE FUCKING EYES!
P.S Sorry if my swearing offended anybody here.

Honestly, the Borderlands ending I have to say was the most disappointing thing I've even been through...I'm not even going to post a description of why. Anyone that has beaten it knows why, and I don't want to spoil the fail for anyone who's going to play it. I know there are spoiler covers but I guarantee most people click them anyways out of curiosity.

I actually remember the ending of Dreamfall: The Longest Journey....it was more disappointing than anything you could possibly dream of. That + years of waiting for the bloody thing to come out = so much fail it actually deserves a prize

All games listed are ones I beat personally and had crappy endings - This doesn't mean the game was crap (as many I actually loved).

1) Fallout 3
2) Mass Effect (Sorry, I felt like a mission ended... not the game).
3) Chrono Trigger (multiple endings, none of them made the mediocre game worth playing over)
4) The Legend of Zelda (NES, yeah... it didn't have an epic ending and in fact dumped you back to start all over.)
5) Killer Instinct (Do you remember any of the endings?)
6) Fallout 3 (Just wanted to reiterate how much of a let down that was.)

In an unrelated motion, one of the most unique endings I remember was Earthbound (Mother 2). You were able to explore ALL areas of the game "on the way home" with no enemies and nearly everything was re-written... remember Fourside? There was one locked door that said "Come back after you've finished playing Earthbound!"... when you go back: "Oh, you finished Earthbound? Good job!"

Beautiful

Assassin's Creed. The next three games in the series are essentially the actual the ending of Assassin's Creed. Assuming prices stay the same, you'll need to pay something like a hundred and eighty dollars to get the entire story (including the unreleased third game).

Alone in the Dark is a close second.

Caaaaaaaaaaaaaaarnbyyyyyyy.

Star Wars:Republic Commando.

Horrid. Not to mention it doesn't even feel so much like an ending so much as the game just stopping.

Revenant.

Mother-fucking Revenant.

I don't really know why the hate for the Fallout 3 end. I liked it.

But, OT, KoTR2.

Or, rather, the 'ending' they cobbled together for it.

The ending to the I am legend movie.

The end of the movie Bangkok Dangerous. It was logical, but it was still a total kick in the gnads.

I'll say Breath of Fire 3 was hugely disappointing; first you have to sit through a huge cut scene which you can't skip before you can fight the last boss, then after a long battle 2 of the characters in the group leave (one turns to stone, one becomes a tree*) and the ending just has the other 4 characters escaping the site of the battle while it collapses as the last boss decends down some sort of pit. It's hugely unsatisfying.

* This makes cmlete sense ingame due to 1 character initially being a servant of the last boss while the other one is connected to a mystical tree in addition to being a plant.
