my mental picture of him is a man with a dark suit and a mask.

He looks like a bunch of lines of codes since he's a series of algorithms. AI director is just a special name they gave to a portion of there code that heavily uses a randomizer and some collected data to change a game layout. I wish I could name a portion of my code and sell games uses that as a selling point.

I don't have any particular mental image of him/her, but I've always seen him/her as a male version of/the actual announcer from TF2.

I view him as being absolute darkness with just two floating eyes. Except the eyes look red from a distance but as you get closer you see they are actually on fire. Then when you get really close you can see the souls of screaming noobs crying about how he tank raped them 5 feet from the safe house.

That's NOTHING. Last night? I opened the safe house door, as a tank came OVER the wall, and a Charger charged me INTO THE TANK.

So the A.I. director? Gigantic flying phallic symbol. Seriously.
