Demented Teddy: Is there anything in a game you hated doing but you had to do it?
I kind of hate to be "that guy" who still goes on about Portal, but incinerating the companion cube was not something I was anxious to do, and I've watched other people play who had much stronger feelings on the subject. One of them, when told that the incinerator would have to be activated in order to advance, immediately dropped the companion cube near the still-locked door and jumped into the incinerator himself. If he had second thoughts, he didn't show it.
I must be heartless, I hardly worried about killing the cube at all. I was like, "aww, that sucks. Oh well *burn* what does this thing hold for me next?"
SwiftLemur: Killing dogs in pretty much any game dunno why just seems wrong
Welcome to ze Escapist. Anyway playing Modern Warfare 2 should change your mind.
Modern Warfare 2 wasn't nearly as bad with the dogs as Modern Warefare 1 was.
as captian price said these russian dogs are pussycats compared to the dogs in pripyat.
No...because there was only a few instances where you had to kill them. OT: MGS3 SPOILERS! If Kojima ever makes me kill my mother again, I'm going to fucking kill him.
Macgyvercas: Am I the only one who thought this thread would be about sex??
OT: I don't like killing dogs, but I will if I have to
to be honest...I did
but it would probably be the thing in GTA 4 killing Playboy X or Dwayne :(
You kill some rich annoying "Gangsta" wannabe for his apartment and GTA 3 outfit, or you kill some poor bastard who bitches about life. What was so hard?
Baldry: WAW trying to get vet, gaah so close but GRRRAAAAHHHH AND THAT GOD DAMN kill 45 aeroplanes there isnt even 45D: D: D: D:
When I realized ALL of the endings in Deus Ex Invisible War are terribly depressing, I was quite upset. As if the game weren't disappointing already, there's no good ending? They should have just included a coupon for a free slap in the face when you beat the game.

This. Not so much when I'm fighting them, because they're snarling and trying to eat me, but I always feel bad when I kill them because usually when they die the last noise they make is that little whimper.
Ravenholm. I loved half-life 2, but I hated having to go through that level, I mean it was pretty fun from a design point of view, but there were alot of "Holy shit I'm surrounded by the undead with no ammo and an insane European priest for company" moments.
I thought the escort sections were a lot better than when you were just controlling Ashley. The LEAST they could have done is put a few more torches around.
Demented Teddy: Is there anything in a game you hated doing but you had to do it?
I hated planting the Russian flag on top of the Reichstag in Call Of Duty World At War, fun but the symbolism.
Umm... but why? (I'm a Russian, please try not to say anything too harsh)
First of all, it wasn't the Russian flag. It was the flag of the Soviet Union.
I too, hated that part. I have no sympathy for nazis, but neither for the Soviets. They stood for the oppression of Eastern Europe for 50 years after the war. It's best pointed out in a Polish joke: which is worse: being conquered by the Germans or being liberated by the Russians? Many have a hard time finding the honest answer. I personally found it unpleasant to plant the flag of the nation that had occupied the entire Eastern Europe and tried to invade my country with claims of "liberation". Hypocritical, at least. whole I felt no satisfaction with the Soviet triumph.
OT: Half Life 2 and Nova Prospect. Just... bleh.
I agree with the "opression" part. However, the planting of the flag is a sacred historical moment for our coutry. If you ask me, Soviet soldires deserved that.

You see, I'm a supporter of Fascism and an opposer of Communism. Germany was a fascist country in the 40's while Russia is a communist country. So planting a communist flag on the capital building of a defeated fascist country wouldn't be my favourite thing to do.

I am a supporter of neither, I just try to "defend" the core moments in the history of my country.
In any game where you have to loose a fight etc since it never tells you to loose. It just gets annoying since you have to do it to continue with the story in some games.
Rakkana: when playing assassins creed i had to give up ALL of my weapons for a while, could not have pissed me of more.
In Assassin's creed 1
I didn't like that you were stripped of much more than your Honor(I hope some gets that reference) you lost the ability to grab and tackle and counter grab and dodge attacks. The only way to get them is to finish the assassination mission(you had to do a minimum 3 and a maxium of 6 and if you want you have to save all the people and view all the high points) collecting the flags were not part of the main DNA bar(they were under additional with Kingdom view points, flags and templars) so this made the game a bit repetitive too me but I did do all of that(including all the flags and killing all the templars)
What disturbed me the most about that is that it didn't make any sense at all. You were demoted, so you lost the ability to counter, use your hands to grab things, step backwards, and sprint, how does that make any sense?

actually you could still sprint but I think they took tackling away and other moves I mention
I hated my self for dismembering corpses in Fallout 3 with melee weapons. 3/10 bodies I would dismember, I would never shoot for the head, only the body so I could preserve it for my little "games"

Those parts were actually kind of intense, although your right they were pretty annoying.
Chasing anything or anyone in a videogame.
